Would-be detectives Trevor, Nick and Robyn are hot on the trail of a sandwich thief when they learn that more than food has been going missing at school. A valuable hockey book has been stolen from the library and the kids worry that the librarian might lose her job if it isn't found. Who would steal a hockey book? Could it be Robyn's arch-nemesis and hockey enthusiast Cray? Or could it be Ms. Thorson, the Oiler fan teacher? The kids are determined to solve these mysteries even though their sleuthing efforts land them into trouble at every turn.

The book Swiped is a mystery. The books setting takes place in their school. Trevor,Robyn, and Nick have a problem, someone keeps stealing their lunches. Trevor comes up with a genius plan to catch the thief. Also their school is brand new so there aren't that many books in the library. While going through some piles of old donated books, they find a very valuable book with a signature of a famous hockey player. After they decide to sell the book for money to buy new books, the book goes missing. Like spies on a mission, they hunt down the book like someones life depends on it. I liked the book Swiped because there were a lot of mysteries and a really important plot twist at the end. The thing that I do not like about the book is that all of the stuff that happened in the story was not very realistic and would not happen in real life. Another thing that i liked about this book is that a lot of things happen throughout the story and in never gets boring I would recommend this book to people that like mystery's and suspenseful books. This book reminds me of a shorter book of Nancy Drew.
Best friends Robin, Nick, and Trevor never planned on becoming detectives. But when several school lunches, and even more importantly, a signed copy of a rare Wayne Gretzy, go missing, they leap into action and begin sleuthing.
What starts out as simple mystery solving turns into an all-consuming passion for the three young Holmes'. Their homework and other school obligations are put on the back burner, and soon they become completely swept away in their quest to solve the mystery -- and catch the perpetrator.
This novel is an easy read for most middle schoolers, but it provides a lot of entertainment in a fast-paced manner. An excellent choice for students who are reluctant to pick up books.
The theme of this book was to never think someone has done something because you don't like them and to never steal even if it is for a good cause. In the book the main characters lunches keep being taken by someone and the main characters plant a trap to find out who was taking there lunches by filling a twinkie with blue dye and letting it be taken. After the find a kid with a blue mouth they find out that the food was being taken to support the kids in the school who could not afford to have lunch. At first the main characters are angry that there lunches are being taken and try to find out why. After they find out why they where being taken they feel bad and give some of there lunch away and help raise money to support kids who can't afford to eat lunch.
I gave this book a 3 star because it was ok i liked it one thing i didn't like about it is how the characters had problems and it was hard finding the solution which made it confusing for me. Also what i liked about the authors writing is how she included every detail about the characters and showed what do they do why did they do that what did they get or do about the problem to solve it. Lastly i liked there was many details which gave me more information about the character so i can know more about she or he.
