I write supernatural horror suspense comedy (a mix of dark humor, quirky, silly humor and satire.), .

I love many kinds of stories. I especially love off-beat, quirky stories with unusual characters and settings that have a sense of wonder and humor.…Falling in love with stories saved me from a life of crime (I’m only sort of kidding; they did save me from something). A lot of my main characters are adopted. Like them, I was adopted. I seem to write often about identity. I live in Austin, Texas. I have no horses or cowboy hats. I do have a 125 pound sheep dog. I’ve taught college, been a bartender and waiter and am now a full-time writer.

I've had five novels traditionally published and something like fifteen independently published. My independently published series, Strangely Scary Funny, is, by far, my most popular.

I like writing most anything. My grocery lists are excellent.

Kevin, the intrepid hero of the 12-volume Librarian series, returns to share a new journey. Rest assured, this series promises to be just as strangely scary and charming as Yansky's first set of books.

Aftermath stories can go in a lot of directions. I became very attached to Kevin—son of the Devil and the Librarian—the problem solver. His adopted town, Eden, offered a celestial setting that opened the door to countless mythic beings: from angels and demons to gods, charlatans, and charmers. All of this came to a catastrophic end with the Apocalypse and nuclear war. Now what?

Kevin awakens to find himself still in Eden. In the ensuing silence, no one is left—well, a talking fish is—Yansky has maintained his wonderful, wry humor. Abandoned, and now aware the remaining citizens of Earth blame him for the war, Kevin begins again.

Almost immediately, he is taken in by the Fae. Suspicious, but not cautious enough, he falls under their thrall and finally awakens five years later. Disaster upon disaster, he must now travel through the wasteland of Earth to find answers, to find his family (Olive and Fluffy!), and ultimately, to find himself. Kevin, who was once the successful defender of knowledge against ignorance, is now a failed Noah. Unlike the biblical figure who did save life, Kevin must recognize at this point that chaos reigns. His only hope is to regain his family.

Will he succeed in this early quest? Reader, this is not only scary—Yansky keeps his promise. Book 1 is also Strangely Funny. A great read for all who loved Supernatural, and a book good for late-night conversations over a cup of Kevin's favorite coffee.

Pretty Darn Good. I wasn't sure about this one. Considering what happened in the last book I wasn't sure if I was up for a Mad Max story involving the Librarian. Who am I kidding I would have loved that. This was not that. Yansky continues to write thoughtful and interesting stories even as they continue past what I feel is the original storyline. My biggest complaint is that the Librarian continues to make stupid supernatural mistakes. I'm not saying he should be perfect but you don't dance with or eat any food the fey folk offer.

Very different than any series I usually read, but I couldn't stop reading them. Characters were well developed and quirky. Loved the different settings and situations they found themselves in throughout the series. Some characters and situations were very thought-provoking while others were amusing in how they developed. Loved the DeVille, the library with it's mysterious rooms. I want to adopt Fluffy!

So fun!

The Librarian After the Apocalypse continues the fun and leaves us satisfied that more is on the way. I never know how the anti-antichrist, Kevin, is going to get out of the latest scrape. I just let the crazy adventures unfold, sort of; by that, I mean I can't put these books down. Can't wait for the next one!

Armageddon is over, with no winner just losers. Kevin awakes in Eden, but everyone is gone. Alone and looking for answers, he finds five years have passed and he has been made the scapegoat for Armageddon. With heaven and hell locked, everyone is on a scorched earth, but he is determined to find his friends.

Needs proofreader

I like the story, but the author very much needs a proofreader. There are places where words and even phrases are duplicated, grammar isn't correct, and even the logic fails.

After the Apocalypse

This book was actually considerable better than the before-apocalypse books. A lot more stuff happening. More action outside Eden, and a lot less dog walking and cafe visits. I like it.

hold on to your hats!

I was so happy to see the author continue with additional story after Armageddon- (book 12 in the original series) and it did not disappoint!
Highly recommend this whole series for anyone who like’s otherworldly, dark humorous stories.

An enjoyable story, Kevin searching for the population of Eden after Armageddon and having to enlist the help of unwilling and unlikely allies to find them. This is the second of this series I received from Bookbub and they are fun and humorous.

Put it this way - the book was good enough that I bought ALL the next ones before I'd finished the first! Looks like I've found a writer with the same semi-strange sense of humor I have. Off to read book two - maybe we'll meet again in another review. ;)
