I have been waiting for this short for a while; you can imagine my excitement when I got the message that the ARC was ready. I had just begun to make dinner and almost burnt it while finishing the story. The little peek into Wolfe's start in the military was perfect. He was barely twelve years old when he was accepted into the academy. They in no way treated them like twelve-year-olds. His history throughout this story really explains his personality in the future. I don't remember him talking to much about his family in the Wolfegang series, but I'm left wanting to know more about them. I didn't find a single thing I disliked about this short. It could easily be read without reading the other books in the series. If you're ever in the mood for a short Sci-fi story, I would recommend you grabbing this.
A REMARKABLE READ!!! A wonderful, easy to follow read with twists and turns that keep you captivated. You watch as a small child learns the hardships of becoming an adult. Such an amazing and remarkable job Jillian does in bringing each scene to life with astonishing detail that drawns you in and keeps your full attention as the tale unfolds.
The story talks about a boy with dreams and and with hopes, a child who has a long way to become the character we were first introduced to, It has a very familiar feeling and it's interesting enough that you'll need to take a second look just to make sure it's really over. It's a great short story and quite catching too, i can't wait for the second part.
I forgot to write a review for this short story after finishing proofreading it, but I do remember it very much made me want to read more in the series. I will have to read it again to write a better review. Stay tuned.
This book is a bit of a tease of what may come next. It's a self-contained story and yet the prequel to a series. Well written and entertaining story to read.
