They thought the nightmare was over. They were wrong.
Eva Roberts and Dan Bradley follow a lead to Amsterdam—only to find the woman they thought dead still alive, still running, and still hunted by the cult they tried to destroy.
Back home, The Path has rebranded as The Sublime Way—a polished “wellness” empire hiding a brutal agenda. Its leader, Briony Persimmon, is a master of manipulation with one to recruit, control, and erase anyone who stands in her way.
To expose the truth, Eva’s team sends Joanne undercover. But when she returns, she’s not the same. Has she been broken—or turned?
Now the clock is ticking.
Eva must protect her family, outsmart a killer, and dismantle the cult from within… before the next move hits too close to home.
"Loved it!" "Can't wait for the final!"
The Weeping Path is a fast-paced, addictive thriller packed with twists, betrayal, and heart-stopping suspense.
Perfect for fans of LJ Ross, Mark Dawson, and Adam Croft.
Hello folks, My name is Solomon Carter, and I am the author of the Roberts and Bradley PI crime thriller series, The Last Line international thriller series, the DI Hogarth Darkest series and more. I write mysteries, crime and thriller novels and more besides.
I was born in Southend, Essex and lived there for most of my life apart from eventful student days in South London. But my life in Southend was even more eventful still. I ended up working in a string of jobs including as a jobcentre clerk, a book seller, tutor for youth with low skills and low self esteem, mortgage broker, and latterly manager of a food bank which dealt with all kinds of interesting people facing all kinds of eye-opening, jaw dropping problems. Because of these ear-to-the-ground jobs the majority of my novels are set in Southend. In 2016 I moved to North Cornwall because I liked the idea of never-ending holidays - but I also write almost every single day. My aim is to write action-packed thrillers and page-turning mysteries that readers love and my hope is to get better at what I do with every book across each and every year.
I like to give away lots of free books as part of what I do. If you would like to receive some of these and get the exclusives on offer, than you're invited to join my free readers group at SolomonCarter.net. I won't spam you, just send the occassional email with news on the latest books and forthcoming freebies.
And if you want to see the memes, personal shares and other oddball stuff I do, then you can join me at Facebook via www.facebook.com/solomoncarterwrites and join the fun there too.
What I am good at: telling stories What I am bad at: dancing, being patient. What I love: nature, the seaside, adventures Writers I heartily recommend: Lee Child, Ian Rankin, Henning Mankell, Val McDermid, Harlan Coben, Robert Crais. Writers I need to read more of: Val McDermid, Ian Rankin, Michael Connelly and others. Other things I do beside writing: at present I like to keep my running going to balance out the sitting behind a laptop (a habit inspired by Haruki Murakami's 'What I talk about when I talk about running' - a great book). -I am currently doing surf lessons. When in Rome, as they say... -Getting out into nature as the weather allows.
I look forward to hearing from you. Until then I'll keep on writing. Or running. Or surfing. Or chasing my children around the house.
All the very best, Solomon :)
PS if you have enjoyed any of my books, I'd be honoured if you could post a review. Those reviews really do help!
Book two in this trilogy sees Eva, Dan, Joanne and others continue the fight against The Path, a psychological cult that seems to easily sway people to their way of thinking.
The story was filled with twists and turns and disturbing events. People with power will do anything to keep it.
Solomon Carter exceeds all expectations with this story. There is mind bending, brain washing action by the leader of a related entity to The Path revealed in the first book of this trilogy, along with many twists and turns as the plot unfolds. Further action is aimed at Dan and Eva by an assassin acting for Agnarsson, the leader of The Path. It starts out with Eva and Dan in Amsterdam searching for Ariel, the disenchanted former girlfriend of Nathan who contracted them originally. The have headed there following news of the death of a British female and discover that the dead woman is not Ariel, but a similar female that has been murdered by the assassin Veldt, by mistake. When Ariel is found the assassin is hot on their heals as all three return to England. Joanne, Eva and Dan’s assistant has been minding their son Sam whilst they have been away takes them all in as they plot a way to disable The Path by firstly tackling the related entity – The Sublime Way and their leader – Briony Persimmon. What a tangled web the story becomes as Joanne goes undercover into the lions den, so to speak, but escapes with a troubled mind. Then further threats become obvious and other past associates, Simon and Jess join the trouble when the assassin is tasked to take out young Sam. This of course leads to a great deal of violence before the brain washing of the Sublime Way cult becomes public knowledge leaving some damaged minds and bodies of our characters rather damaged. But the scene is set for further action and this reader looks forward to the final in the trilogy.
Solomon Carter never fails to deliver suspenseful thrillers that keep me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages to the last one, when I'm left desperate for the next instalment! I'm so glad he's returned to the characters of Eva and Dan, they are my favourite of his. They're involved in a particularly dangerous situation (aren't they always?) trying to get to a dangerous cult and with their child now in possible danger, things get very tense between Eva, Dan and their assistant, Joanne. I can't wait for the next instalment!
