Lorenzo and Serena's Story
This is an exciting and violent story about a principled prosecuting attorney who has made a career prosecuting the mob who learns that she is the illegitimate daughter of the most powerful Don in Rome. The enforcer who is sent to capture her and obtain critical information from her becomes the love of her life.
Serena Barone is a relentless crusader against corruption in the legal system in Rome. She has tried and won cases that have resulted in sentences for mob members, judges, and politicians. She thinks the system will protect her, not realizing how many mob families are currently stalking her to kill her.
Lorenzo Santoro is the chief enforcer and assassin for the Costa family. Serena is preparing a case that will bring down the Costa family, as well as other families. Lorenzo is sent to seduce her and obtain information on the case and then kill her.
Things get complicated between Serena and Lorenzo. After she is hospitalized from. a car crash, it is discovered that Serena is Don Emilio Costa's illegitimate daughter.
This really changes everything, putting a target on Serena unless she accepts a position within the Costa family.
Even though there is extensive violence, their love story is very sweet. Lorenzo shows Serena a softer side that no one else ever sees.
I definitely recommend this book.

Exciting!
I read over 100 romance/ thrillers per years. This novel is outstanding from the first chapter. There are twists and plot changers throughout. It is a keeper!
