Can a former trophy wife make a new life for herself in a small mountain town? Maybe her hot, handy neighbor can help.
Allison leaves the city and her luxury lifestyle behind when she walks away from her wealthy husband. Now she’s forced to navigate life in a small, rural town for a couple of years until she can figure out what she wants and then return to the world she knows.
Rob lives across the street. He’s always ready to lend a hand—in and out of the bedroom. But he belongs in this small town, and Allison doesn’t. Their relationship can only be temporary.
Even if she’s starting to want more.
Trophy is a steamy, standalone small-town romance. It was originally published in 2016 as Trophy Wife and has been only minimally revised.
Noelle handwrote her first romance novel in a spiral-bound notebook when she was twelve, and she hasn't stopped writing since. She has lived in eight different states and currently resides in Virginia, where she teaches English, reads any book she can get her hands on, and offers tribute to a very spoiled cocker spaniel.
She loves travel, art, history, and ice cream. After spending far too many years of her life in graduate school, she has decided to reorient her priorities and focus on writing contemporary romances.
I am a bit bored by this one. I don't like how she doesn't want a relationship with him because of her previous marriage. He is an absolute saint, even though it is killing him to keep everything a secret. He just wants to help her and see her do well. I get they each are working through their own things, but I can't connect with her.
I do want to pick this one up again and finish it. I still love Noelle Adams/Claire Kent's writing.
This was a much sweeter story than I anticipated. I love when the main characters have obvious flaws and Noelle Adams doesn't shy away from that with Allison and Rob. I could feel how important it was for Allison to be independent yet Rob's natural need to help others, I loved that they both had their differences and it made their relationship feel so authentic.
