Bea's Bear

Rate this book
Once upon a time..

A weary Japanese Inventor named Hiroshi Yamata had made a promise to his grown daughter, Suki, that he would make an artificially Intelligent Bear, in stark contrast to the imminent arrival of his Lethal Autonomous Weapons (L.A.W.s) which would be deployed all over Japan & Europe, to cut down on the number of troops on the ground.

Using the same military technology, the Bear would learn about the people and the world around him and unlike the killing machines before him, would be harmless and appeal to young children.

The bear would be sent to a New York department store Hiroshi and his daughter once both visited.
It would be a gift, a national symbol of one country's friendship to another during peacetime.

For small children to touch and talk and play with.

His name would be 'Ruben'..

But Little did Hiroshi know when he flew back to his native Japan, that a spoilt young girl named Bea, would pick him out as a Christmas present. At first the store is hesitant to sell the bear, as he is a 'one of a kind' and would need special care and attention if Bea & her single father Aiden took him home.

But after Bea's stomping and screaming, the little 'Princess' eventually get's her way!

That Christmas night, with Bea asleep in her room upstairs, there is a stirring under the Christmas tree..

The toy bear 'Ruben', awakens to find, he is no longer at the department store, but under a Christmas Tree,
In a strange house!

Bea's Bear is a Fairytale like no other!
