We all take photographs on holiday. So, what’s the problem when Jen Miller takes a photo of a wild beach on Cayuga Lake, New York? The problem is, that’s when her nightmares begin. And the countdown…
5… Who is the vicious fourteen-year-old boy brutalizing her dreams? 4… Is the boy now stalking her reality, or is it all in her head? 3… Nightmares and hallucinations blend into a kaleidoscope of terror which Jen and her husband, Kev, can’t explain. 2… Now the boy is in the photos on her phone, and he’s slipping into a new photograph each day. 1… Only Lutheran Pastor, Mike Barton, can help - because he’s faced evil before. 0… And now the real horror begins…
Together, they must go back to Clifford’s Drift on the shores of Cayuga Lake to find out who the boy is and stop him from destroying Jen’s family. But as they uncover the truth about the boy, they discover the harrowing secrets of Clifford’s Drift - a town without a church. A town abandoned by God. A town possessed by the PosterBoy.
Really lousy writing and editing. That may not bother others, but it sure drove me crazy. I kept reading because the story was somewhat engrossing but I had to keep myself from stopping every time some corny phrase or poorly worded sentence came up. I hope the author’s other books are better written.
This book was so good, I read it in 2 days! I could not put it down, because I had to know what happened next. This is a great book for those who love creepy unsettling stories.
Not my usual genre but I'm a huge fan of paranormal/spooky horror movies, so I thought "why the hell not". I have read 2 of the authors other books which I really enjoyed. I'm waffling arnt I ? Sorry 😢. The story is creepy and took me on a roller coaster of emotions. I found it well written and easy to read (I did get upset when the dog died though) The twist at the end left me thinking about it for weeks later. 'Shave and a haircut' 😂😂

This book was absolutely brilliant from start to just before the finish. As a horror author and psychic I really appreciated the way the author dealt with evil. But then, the ending was…. Blah… If you are an author you know the beginning must tempt you to read the book, and the end should make you want more. The ending was like a flat squib…. Such a shame as the book was brilliant until the end. Hence the three stars
I have enjoyed all of VJ Nash's books, but this one was simply awful. I loathed the lead character and her passive-aggressive/pretentious emotions. Next to that, the core of the story was just bland as hell. We've got some chubby kid in pictures who partakes in savagery. We begin with that and we end with that. Quite honestly I was hoping most of the book he ended up getting to Jen and her overly-sensitive husband just to rid the pages of them. The priest was the only redeeming character.
Preferred his other works The storyline to this book is very good and could have been a masterpiece However I feel the writing and editing let it down. My head hurts from all my eye rolls 2.5 ⭐️ half knocked of for the dog Half knocked of because that ending 😡 I would normally say I need another book to continue the story but I definitely need a break from Jen kev and the boy!
So refreshing to read something original. I blasted through this.. gripped all the way through leaving you breathless at times. Very well written n thoroughly engaging.
How far can a spirit attack and harass a person. Jen and Kev are on holiday and Jen being a photographer is snapping away taking beautiful pictures. On their way off the secluded beach they noticed a sign saying 'no photography ' and 'fine $5,000', and they wondered why. The following days, Jen thinks she is losing her mind and she is haunted by an evil spirit, always starting with. 'shave and a haircut' rapping. Is she losing her mind? Then it happens to Kev, and then a friend, even the priest at their local church feels it. They investigate and realise the evil spirit is a child murderer, and they formulate a plan to. urn all his pictures to be rid of him. Whilst exorcising the evil spirits'childhood home and its father's church, mike is killed by the veil spirit possession of a female medium. Jen and Kev escape and go the their daughter's to protect her family. Their daughter believes they are mad and is glad when they leave. Jen and Kev go home and celebrate their win, even after losing Mike the priest. They go to bed exhausted but happy now they are free. Then comes a rapping at their door, and the knock. . .. 'shave and a haircut'... Not my usual type of book, but it kept me reading.
