I think this is my favorite book in the series so far. It was great to visit all of the old travels one more time. I did like how she wrapped up the story. There was good storytelling, mystery, intrigue, and emotion. I look forward to the next.

Eighth book in the series and all were very good. Time travel can be hard to write, but Martin does a good job. This one has parts from the previous 7 presented as Teddy takes Simon and Elizabeth on a treasure hunt to find a missing watch.

Wonderful book

Wonderful book. I'm really enjoying this series. Sometimes it can make your head hurt thinking about time travel, time paradoxes, etc. But this series does a pretty good job with time travel and the adventures.

Ok, I was a little unsure about this at first - I thought it was the next book in the St Mary's time traveller series (another excellent series of books) and so I was mildly disorientated until I realised my mistake.

Simon and Elizabeth are awaiting Jack when they get an unexpected visitor -their daughter from the future! The Shadow Council is trying to create a super watch and in retaliation the Council is trying to beat them to it. The Council has succeeded but now the Shadow Council is doing everything in its power to wrest control of the watch.

Instead of time travelling Simon and Elizabeth revisit scenes from their past as they follow clues meant only for them.

Meanwhile Jack is paired with the former director of the Council's daughter to find the scientist/inventor working for the Shadow Council to create their watch.

The 8th in the 'Out of Time' series and it is still has me hooked. There is a little twist in this instalment as Elizabeth and Jack don't actually time travel but instead have to save the world in their own time. Thankfully they have some help from the lovely Jack and a cranky but skilled Monsieur Renaud. (More from these two please)

An unexpected visitor from the future sets in place a race to find the very special and dangerous 13th pocket-watch. To discover where the watch is hidden, Elizabeth and Simon must solve the clues that are hidden in various places relating to their past. At the same time they are pursued by agents from the Shadow Council who will stop at nothing, including kidnap and murder, to get their hands on the watch.

Some questions are addressed in 'A Time of Shadows.' Jack comes to a decision about his future and I'm glad that he'll be around for more adventures. The issue of Simon and Elizabeth losing a child is also addressed. I won't add any spoilers but I think everyone can stop worrying....for now!

I love this series and hope it continues well into the double digits!

I really enjoyed this book. I love that Simon's and Elizabeth's future shows up on their doorstep and they have to live by their own rules when they really don't want to. I loved getting to know Renaud more. it helped to understand the crankiness we saw in the last book.

We get to read about Jack again in this book. I would really like for him to be able to find his happily ever after...

Some things in this story were a bit too predictable, but the characters helped keep it interesting.

Krista - There is a really great scavenger hunt theme in this book that I think you will enjoy. Unfortunately, you really do need to read all the other books to understand it, so no skipping ahead.

I am looking forward tp the next book, bit the way this one ended, I'm not angry that I have to wait - no cliffhangers here!

My least favorite of this 8 book series, but still entertaining nonetheless.

This one takes you to Istanbul. I really enjoyed the pretty descriptions of modern life in a city surrounded by ancient culture.

Will read the next one (if there is one) but not sure this story really followed the rules that were set forth by the previous stories in the saga. There were a lot of times where I would read something and think "Now wait a minute...that can't be true because last time it happened THIS way".

Pure entertainment, even if some of it is campy. Read it in 2 days. Was worth the extra time I have while taking time off work.

This was a unique installment in the series because instead of traveling to the past, the future travels to the present! Unexpected and nicely done!

I really enjoyed the story and I was right in my suspicions about a particular character. I knew it!

I've pre-ordered book 9 and I look forward to it....

Please hurry!!

Just finished and I am ready for the next story please!!! I enjoyed the tour through their "history" I am a real fan of Teddy. It was also fun to meet the future child, I had been concerned with how the death of a child premonition would work out. This story had me laughing, crying and biting my nails. I can't wait for more. Thank you again.

loved that this time instead of the main characters time travelling the future comes looking to them for help in the shape of their daughter . whereas a lot of the other books in the series can be read as standalones I would recommend reading this to enable you to understand and follow the treasure hunt for the watch that can destroy time. now the wait til the next book

Wonderful

As usual, the Crosses and Jack entertain and delight! The fact that this book was set in modern times was unexpected, yet it set the scene (and mood) quite well. I can't wait to see if there is a next installment - the civil war story really piqued my imagination!

The most recent installment in the Out of Time series and one of the best so far. The plot twists never stop, and wisecracking Elizabeth and worry wart Simon are thrown a real curve ball in this one. A fun, fast and engaging read.

Wow!!! First and most important thing - you have to read the other books in this series first!!! And it would help not to wait as long as I did between books.

Seems the last 3 books were the best, though they are the ones I recently read.

Wow!!!

I loved every minute of this book. It made me long to revisit some of the actual people from Simon and Elizabeth's past though. I can't wait to read more--especially what led up to Charlotte's birth.

This book was a little different for me in the aspect that most of this was like a trip down memory lane. I did so enjoy meeting Charlotte and getting to know the Frenchman better. It was good finally knowing where all his pain was coming from. Can't wait to see what's next.

A wonderful series all the way through. I loved the fact that they revisited each of the locations as well as some they had not been to yet. At the end I was in tears.
