He’s not broke. She’s not fooled. Let the games begin.
Maisie Pickett's life is going great – if you count a struggling bike business, an unwanted roommate, and a not-so-charming stranger who’s way too sketchy to trust.
When Griff – just Griff – arrives on Michigan’s Mackinac Island, where cars are a no-go and horses have the right of way, Maisie knows three (1) He’s ridiculously hot. (2) He’s clearly rich. (3) He’s definitely trouble.
Fast-forward one day, and Mister Tall, Dark and Difficult shows up at her seriously understaffed shop, offering to work for nearly nothing. He can't mean it. There must be a catch. But she’s desperate, and he’s...conveniently available. Or so he says. Hey, it's only for a month. What’s the worst that could happen?
Between nosy locals, flaky tourists, and a cheating ex who likes to lurk, Maisie’s hands are full – and Griff is becoming a bigger workplace distraction by the day.
He says he’s broke. He says he’s harmless. He says a lot of things.
Maisie knows better than to believe him – a good thing, considering he's not exactly telling the truth.
Sparks fly, secrets unravel, and smalltown mayhem reigns in this steamy romantic comedy set on an island where wheels are welcome, engines are not, and love always finds a way.
***From a USA Today bestselling author, this smalltown romance is a fun, engaging romantic comedy with workplace flirtations, funny banter, and a dash of spice. Check out this new 2025 beach read today!
I don’t know what to say…. I didn’t find this story funny or the love story particularly believable.
Griff arrives on Mackinac Island with $300 and has to survive a month in a terrible apt bc of some random bet he lost to a wealthy friend. On his first day he meets local girl, Maisie. She has taken over the family bike renting business after her dad passed away. Griff takes an interest and decides to help her in return for free lunch and the use of a bike.
What ensues is a series of miscommunications and Griff deliberately avoiding telling Maisie anything about himself. At various points he gaslights her and makes her feel badly for wanting to, for example, know his last name. Meanwhile, she is a person whose father has recently died, her business is failing, her mother left her years ago, and her most recent boyfriend cheated on her and left her. In short, she needs care and concern, not some secret millionaire asshole.
I honestly didn’t find these two believable as a couple. She’s very sweet and naive; he comes across as a self centered jerk (to me) who seems much older but also immature at the same time. I understand what the author was going for, but I just didn’t buy it.
- Two different breakups - Like one wasn’t annoying enough. - So much miscommunication and lying. These two cannot communicate directly about anything. - OW/OM- her annoying ex and his current fiancée keep showing up. At one point they even ask for a foursome. Is that supposed to be funny?? Idk His fiancé even puts her hands on Griff and Maisie gets upset bc he doesn’t shake it off; he just stands there. She then spirals and they break up. He thinks she’s upset bc of his shithole apt (she’s not) and she thinks he slept w the fiancee (he didn’t). She is frequently jealous and he’s frequently annoyingly ignorant about his behavior. She keeps apologizing even tho he’s the one who never explains anything - including his name, the fact that he’s a billionaire, etc, etc. - Spice - this is relatively low spice that starts around 50%. - Found family - there’s his annoying friend, her roommate - both of whom keep mysteriously disappearing and reappearing. His mom makes a cute appearance at the end. - Dual POV; HEA; engagement in epilogue
Some may find this lighthearted and cute; it just wasn’t for me.

Maisie's bicycle business is struggling and it seems that Griff, who's found himself stuck on the island, can help and he'll even do it for dart cheap!!
There are plenty of laughs, secrets, attraction and side characters I want to know more about!!
The first 50 pages not much happened. Throughout the book there were so many poorly executed scenarios and details or discussions that added nothing of value to the story. If 100 pages had been cut and some of the issues below weren’t there, I could’ve really liked this.
-We know there was a bet and that’s why billionaire griff is living in squalor like a poor person with only the money he had in his wallet. More details, even just a quick internal thought from Griffs POV summarizing the bet would’ve been nice.
-Why is Delaney, Tessa’s sister, even mentioned in this story? What is all the secrecy about why Tessa is there?
-Maisies ex Devon and his new fiance come to the island for a pre wedding getaway. They’re popping up all the time and then disappear for a while before popping back up again at the end with no real exit. And it seems odd that they’re spending a month there?
-the story line with the influencer/bike renter was over the top. He pops up several times to rent bikes and chat with Devon and his fiance. It was repetitive and boring
-wasn’t a fan of Ryder’s character for 3/4 of the story and wont be reading his and Tessa’s story (saw that coming from a mile away)
-issues with continuity/flow- example: one second they’re in the bike shop in a complex situation and the chapter ends abruptly and the next page starts a new chapter with something else
-Griffs character- I actually liked him for most of the book but when she finds out who he is he still plays dumb and has the nerve to act like he isn’t in the wrong for lying
Sabrina Stark always makes me laugh. Griff and Maisie were so cute. Griff showing up and fighting for his bag then talking to himself was hilarious. He then finds out that there are no cars allowed and he only has $300 dollars for the next 30 days. Griff then meets Maisie and they have such great chemistry. It was such a great read.
This was such a fun and sweet little summer read. I have liked Sabrina’s books for a while now. I was so happy to see that a new one was finally released! I am so hoping that there will be a next one with Tessa and Ryder. I feel like with this book her writing matured. It feels like her previous books have grown up. The characters don’t have that constant bickering with the Male being SO antagonistic. Everything just feels better plotted out, it’s smother in a way.
Instead we get a new part of Michigan, Mackinaw Island. Tessa who’s a complete sweetheart and Grif who’s an “alpha male” character without being an ass about it. He is cool to let Tessa be Tessa. I loved the group of old gossipy ladies and her new friend Tessa. Tessa has more secrets than anyone combined. Then there’s Ryder who is a total wildcard. There is a lot that’s left open ended at the end of the book. Which gives me hope for more in this series. Like who exactly is Delaney and what is her deal? Is she friend or foe? But don’t worry, Tessa and Grif get their HEA.
The ferry has docked at Mackinac Island, unloading passengers to begin another day where you walk, bike, or enjoy the power of horse drawn carriages. No Motors Allowed!
Meet Maisie Pickett, an owner of a bike shop that is suddenly in need of a new seasonal employee.
Meet Griff- just Griff - who comes to her rescue for a pay of daily sandwiches and the use of a bike (with padlock?).
Add in: ~a bet that lasts thirty days ~cranberries and raisins ~shady characters ~nosey locals ~exotic bikes ~half-truths ~a tent ~and more😁
I really enjoyed this sexy Rom-Com and am very happy to add Author Sabrina Stark to my list of independent authors to explore further and follow. I received an advanced copy of this story from Hidden Gems and am freely providing my review and highly recommend this. I wish I could have given this an even higher star rating. I certainly will save this tale to read again.🤓
So so good! So much fun! I love this author's novels! I have reread all of her novels and love them. Her novels are just so much fun. This novel did not disappoint. From the first chapter this novel grabbed ahold of my attention and my heart and held on tight until the very last page. I was so excited to jump into reading this novel and it did not let me down. I loved Maisie and Griff. Their chemistry was so good! The dialogue and banter were laugh out loud funny. I love when a novel can make me smile and laugh my way thru the entire novel. Once I started reading I could not put this novel down even if it meant staying up all night to finish. So worth losing sleep over. I loved this novel it was so much fun to read. I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. So so good!
“No Limos Allowed” by Sabrina Stark is an absolute delight from start to finish! Set on charming Mackinac Island, this steamy romantic comedy had me laughing, swooning, and completely hooked. Maisie Pickett is the perfect mix of witty, relatable, and determined, while Griff is the irresistible, mysterious stranger who keeps you guessing at every turn.
The chemistry between Maisie and Griff is electric, and the small-town setting adds so much charm and humor. From nosy locals to quirky tourists, every detail felt vivid and alive. The story has the perfect balance of romance, suspense, and laugh-out-loud moments.
Sabrina Stark delivers a page-turner full of heart, secrets, and sizzling tension that will leave you smiling long after the last page. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to see what she writes next!
I have read everything this lady has given us and she NEVER disappoints. Maisie has lived on the island most of her life. A small community where everybody knows each other but it's unique rule, NO CARS ALLOWED makes life different. Maisie is trying to keep here Dads bike hire business afloat but is drowning. Griff arrives on the ferry to spend a month on the island in digs chosen for him and with a daily budget that would barely feed your dog. Maisie needs help in her shop, Griff needs something to keep him occupied and a way to eek out his budget. A match made in heaven it would seem, but all is as it seems as these two navigate a very strange situation and both Maisie and Griff discover not all is as it seems and they both seem to be hiding things from each other. This is a fabulous read. Maisie and Griff will make you laugh, sigh, want to shout at them both in turn but one thing is certain, they will steal your heart. Go grab this and settle in, you won't want to put it down once you start.
If you’ve read the author’s other books then you know you’re in for a fun ride full of witty dialogue and banter. Actually, most of the characters don’t realize they’re in the middle of banter and the main characters are running circles around them. I really liked the setting of this one - summer on Mackinac Island. Both are strong characters and I hope we get to see her roommate and his friend in a future storyline. Although this one felt a little long and could use some cutting of what felt like filler scenes I was anxious to get to the end and their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a complimentary copy. Maisie Pickett owns a bike shop that rents bikes out. This is a good thing because Mackinac Island only allows bikes or horse-drawn carriages on the island. Maisie needs a new temporary employee for the summer season when she meets Griff, no last name. He just asks that she feed him and give him a bike to use. Maisie and Griff had me laughing with the banter between these two. I agree with Maisie, there is something more going on with Griff. Will Maisie figure it out? Maisie and Griff grow closer as they spend time together, but will they walk away when the summer is over?
Maisie has lived and worked on the island all her life, when she sees Griff for the first time. He was in an argument with another man over a rucksack, both claiming that it was theirs. She was called in to mediate but ultimately it was resolved shortly after. Imagine Maisie's surprise when Griff shows up at her bicycle rental shop the next day and offers to help her for sandwiches! Griff is staying on the island because of a bet he lost with his friend Ryland, and the accommodation is a dump , at best. Feeling emerge between Maisie and Geoff but, Griff has secrets. Super story, loved all the characters.
Loved the story, the main characters - Maisie & Griff - and plot(s), but come on ... I don't think I even like her, but is Delaney OK? (Who would trust anything that came out of the mouths of the cheaters)? Where did Tessa keep disappearing to AND how did she know about the thing nobody was allowed to talk about? And did Biatch McBiatch face and her total none prize of a catch - Centipede & Devon - (just in case nobody agrees with my thoughts on them) ever get their comeuppance?
I suppose I can assume the equally entitled dips***s got married and they lived unhappily ever after? OK, we'll go with that so I can get some sleep.
I really enjoyed the storyline of this book. However, I have more questions than answers. The story is based on a bet for Griff (MMC) to go to the island for a month.. This bet is mentioned a lot throughout the book but, We dont have any info regarding the bet. Or the previous bets mentioned. No info really on Griff’s life before the island until the last few chapters and it’s brushed off in one or two paragraphs.. I felt the book jumps a little without covering a lot. Feel like it could be edited to add in some more detail and it would be worth more stars. Will read Tessa’s story next as I am enjoying the story, again just wish there was more info.
Griff and Maisey had me all caught up in this hilarious story. He finds himself on Mackinac Island where he has to fend for himself for thirty days with only what was packed in his black bag and the money in his wallet. He connects with Maisey who runs a poorly run bike shop and she hires him. It starts their path and along the twists and turns a relationship develops. Between the secrets and truths coming out will these two get their chance to discover what possibilities lie between them and will it lead them to happiness. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
This was my first time reading something by Sabrina Clark but it won’t be my last. Griff finds himself on an island for a month after losing a bet. What he never counted on was sweet Maisie - bicycle shop owner struggling to make ends meet after her father left her with a financial disaster. Griff is keeping secrets, and parts of her past keep rearing their ugly heads, but I enjoyed the characters and storyline with moments that had me laughing out loud. Wondering if perhaps Ryder will get his own story. He would make an entertaining character for sure.
Sabrina Stark introduces us to an island where bicycles rule the roads with Maisie struggling to rent out her father’s last investment of expensive eclectic bikes. Griff is exiled to island life for 30 days on losing a bet. Can they come together not only for a 30 day romance but survive truths and several characters that add their own unique influences. Exes, “best” friends and a social influencer called Chad who doesn’t get eclectic over electric. Well constructed read but please make sure Chad doesn’t just disappear.
One of my favorite vacations was to Mackinac Island, so I was thrilled with this book's setting. I only wish it had included more of the sights and activities.
Two delightful main characters who easily won my heart and a touch of mystery to keep me fully involved. And the love story is well-balanced and heartwarming. There's a fair amount of open door romance -- but not overpowered by graphic details (which was fine by me!).
Loved every minute of this trip back to Mackinac Island!
I admit that I have loved EVERYTHING Sabrina Stark has written and No Limos Allowed was no different. She rights her books in a way that draws you in completely and always has a couple unexpected twists and turns before the story is over. Add in the fun and charm of Mackinac Island and its a win-win (coming from a Michigan girl). Maisie and Griff are the perfect sunshine & grumpy characters that you instantly like and root for. I've already preordered the next story (Tessa and Ryder's) in this series and am counting down to its January release.
I loved this book! It was a slow burn that will keep you intrigued and prevent you from doing anything other than reading this book. The main character is a girl who has taken over the family business and trying to make it work for her. The main love interest is on this island for a bet and will not loose! The boat house is where he is living until the bet is up. What happens in between him moving to the island and working with the main character had me cracking up non stop! Truly have a book hangover!
Thanks to a drunken bet between friends, secret billionaire Griff crosses paths with struggling small business owner Maisie.
The bet- Griff has to spend 30 days on Mackinac Island with the amount of cash he already had in his wallet (about $300) and a duffel bag that was packed for him. Furnished lodging, if you wanna call it that, has been provided for the month by his friend. It's got a water front view but it's a far cry from The Grand Hotel.
Not a bad story, I just wish there were more details. Why was Delaney included in the story? Yes, she is Tessa’s sister but why the mystery of her disappearance? Mentioning her added nothing to the story but questions. What were the details of the bet? What was Tessa’s deal? Why was she on the island? Was she with Ryder all the times she disappeared? Maybe Tessa and Ryder will have their own story in the future.
Good Plot and Different, this is a dual pov, slowish burn, Spice, Angst and Ow_Om drama (trying to angtagonise but not getting there) Funny amd full of small town gossip. Lovely HEA. Griffs mum was lovely from the little I read about her. Really looking forward to Ryder and Tessa's story,.I would really like to know what happened with Delaney but hopefully in Tess and Ryders book
I loved the twists and turns of the story. It kept my interest and the characters, for the most part were realistic. A lovely romance. with a bit of spice that progressed with the characters reflecting upon their behaviors, and with a happy ending. Looking forward to reading more of her books.
This book is billed as a fun, feel-good romance and that’s exactly what it is. A cute story, a mysterious man, a funny meet cute, a hard working woman, an island setting- what’s not to love? This book was fun to read. Maisie and Griff were very cute together. I love that it was set on Mackinac island. I am definitely looking forward to Tessa and Ryder’s story.
She lives on an island with no cars and her bike business is struggling when he arrives when she needs help. He will work for almost nothing but she knows he does not need the job. Life is going to get very interesting for them both I received an advance copy from hidden gems and a lovely tale
Loved this read! Great story, great characters. The romance is charming and i always love it when there is an ex involved who gets what he deserves! The small town charm is extra evident here, loved Franny as much as Griff and Maisie. Looking forward to reading another one of Sabrina’s books.
This was so much fun! When I had to stop reading for the day, all I could think of was getting back home to read more! I don’t know if it was just me but more than a few times I was so engrossed that I forgot where I was! I may need to see a doctor 🤣 Such an excellent read! ❤️
Hysterical! I laughed myself silly! I would have liked a more complete wrap-up: fuller explanation of the bet, and clarification of what was going on between Ryder and Tessa. And, what the heck happened with Delaney???
