The ditty has been around for as long as Hannah and her friends can remember. Stories whispered at sleepovers or around campfires about the ghost of a little girl on Black Hill Road. As Hannah learned during her confrontation with Mama Bayole, there’s always some truth woven into those old stories.

When Hannah and Ashley’s new friend, Dawn Holman, sees the ghost, they make it their mission to find out who Lonesome Amie was. In the process, they run afoul of Hopedale High’s resident bully, Derek Campbell.

As Hannah, Ashley, and their friends help prepare for the Burning Wagon, Hopedale’s Halloween celebration, they discover Derek is much more dangerous than the average small-town bully. In the darkness of Black Hill Road on Halloween night, Hannah and her friends must discover the truth about Lonesome Amie before it’s too late.

Another winner from Tom Deady! Hannah and her friends find themselves in the middle of another mystery, while the effects of the last adventure still affect them. Tom has expanded the world Hopedale with the additional character, Dawn. She like Ashley and Hannah has her own dark past so deal with. I await the next mystery in Hopedale.
