She wanted the fairytale. He’d rather play the villain. But fate doesn’t wait for permission.
Kate Ames was trained for power — calm, capable, lethal in heels or combat boots. She’s the Queen of Elitus, the last woman in Generation One, and the definition of controlled. But deep down, beneath the strategy and silence, she’s always wanted the impossible: a love story in a world built for war.
Bastian Moore is a warning wrapped in arrogance. A Tier Two Mental. An X-level power. Unruly, chaotic, frustratingly brilliant. And absolutely off-limits.
They clash on every level — in training rooms, strategy briefings, and heated arguments that border on something far more dangerous. And now that Wights are free to choose their own paths, neither of them can ignore what’s always been simmering just beneath the surface.
She wants more. He wants freedom. But fate wants them together. And fate always wins.
S.H. Reynolds writes stories about powerful people making emotionally catastrophic decisions—because happy, well-adjusted characters are boring, and therapy is expensive. Fueled by caffeine, spite, and the occasional existential crisis, S.H. specializes in slow-burn tension, morally gray disasters, and dialogue that cuts sharper than a blade. The First, is the debut novel and the beginning of The Elitus Series that will probably ruin some fictional lives (and maybe a few real ones). Book 2 The Queen is set to release in September 2025. Proceed with caution—and popcorn.
I really liked this book, but I think so far book 1 is my favorite. Bastian is a good guy, protective of those he cares for, including Kate who is stubborn and always put together and never looses up haha. The Elitus are up to their usual antics, but to avoid spoilers, I will say that If you enjoy suspenseful slow burn with a little action mixed in this book is a great read!
This book follows Bastian and Kate and their relationship. Kate is “The Queen”, always in control. Bastian is “The Mental God”, reckless and powerful. He is also against the idea of being “bonded” to another. This story gives more depth into the PPG and has a bit more action than the first. I have enjoyed both in the series so far and am interested to see how it continues.
Without giving spoilers this is a solid book! It was definitely worth the read, I love that it was slow burn and the characters I enjoyed! I enjoyed the first book more but definitely still worth the read! I recommend you giving this book a try!!
Book 2 in the series it did not disappoint!!! New characters your gonna love! If you haven't read this series you really need to. Cant wait to see what is next!!
Arc review . SH Reynolds writing style will keep you interested in the book. This was a new genre for me and was pleasantly pleased and that it had a slow burn of the main characters.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book Review — The Queen (Elitus Saga, Book 2)
The Queen is so good! From beginning to end, I was glued to the pages—I couldn’t put it down. This series just keeps getting better, and I cannot wait to see what the author has planned next. ❤️🔥
I adored Book 1, but Book 2 completely stole my heart. Bastian is everything you want in a hero—protective, loyal, and willing to risk everything for those he cares about. And Kate? She’s stubborn, strong, and always in control… until Bastian gets under her skin. Watching their slow-burn tension unravel was addictive.
The Elitus are back with all their usual chaos and secrets, and without giving spoilers, let’s just say the stakes are higher than ever. There are also some amazing new characters that you’ll definitely fall for.
If you love enemies-to-lovers, razor-sharp banter, and a mix of suspense, action, and romance, The Queen will not disappoint. Book 2 proves this saga is a must-read sci-fi romance series!
🔥👑 Book 2 of the Elitus Saga did NOT disappoint!!
She calculated every risk… except him. 👀🔥 Kate + Bastian = the definition of slow-burn tension. I couldn’t stop reading, and honestly? I didn’t want to. ❤️🔥 Would you fall for the chaos or resist it? 😉👇
Cold queen. Reckless god. One slow-burn war you’ll never forget. ⚡️❤️🔥
The Queen (Elitus Saga #2) had me hooked from page one—banter, tension, action, and ALL the feels. I’m officially obsessed. 🚀❤️🔥
Would you survive this kind of enemies-to-lovers romance… or fall for it too? 👀👇
