Dyson Chambers had a promising future until one event changed the course of his life and how people viewed him for years to come. That all changed when he reconnects with the feisty, bubbly beauty that is Aubrie Rose Johnson. The labels placed on him are none of her concern because all she sees is Dice.
Without missing a beat, the two water their blooming friendship. Serving as thorns to protect the other from anything that threatens their happiness, family included.
Soon, they will be faced with an opportunity they cannot refuse. One that will change the course of their journey forever. Can Dyson and Aubrie remain laser-focused?
Really enjoyed this one—thank you Podium Audio for the ALC of Nek Mills! This was my first time reading this author, and I paired it with the immersive read of All I See Is You, which made the experience even better.
Dyson and Aubrie’s story pulled me in right away. Even with all their baggage and the family drama surrounding them, their connection felt natural and fated in the best way. Watching them find their way to each other was satisfying and emotional without feeling overdone.
And the narration? Winston James—GOAT status, seriously 🔥. He brought so much depth to the story. Anna Lynn Wright complemented him perfectly, and together they made the characters feel real and fully alive.
Definitely looking forward to more from this author!
I had an ALC from Podium; I enjoyed the narrators and the way they brought the story to life. Winston James did a great job - he performed! The book was easy to follow; gave me a plethora of emotions. The way Dyson was about Aubrie was so cute. Dyson’s mom, Aubrie’s sister, and her stepmother irritated me the entire book!
I'll be honest this book kind of fades into the background in my opinion in terms of story, uniqueness, and plot. Winston James carried this entire audio on his BACKKKKKK! He chewed this up as he usually does, but that is the only thing that really saved this book for me.
The FMC in my opinion was really stupid in this, and even at one point asked the MMC to marry her, asked why as a single woman would she need cameras outside her house, and just behaved very....young? Learning they were in their late twenties/early thirties had me extremely confused I can't lie. It gave they just graduated from high school. Idk the chemistry just simply was not there for me, and the constant hater energy from both their families BLEW me- i honestly wish worse had happened to them and that terrible man Darnell.
I absolutely loved Dyson and Aubrie (aka Sunflower 🌻). Dyson was dealt a poor hand and had a decade of his life stolen from him. Because of everything he had gone through, he truly felt like his past disqualified him from having the life and love that should’ve been his all along. Unbeknownst to him, Aubrie had been there in the background supporting him the whole time.
I really loved their dynamic because they were both dealing with their own hurt and insecurities, but they gave each other the things they had been missing. Aubrie spent her life wanting to feel chosen, loved, and like she was enough, while Dyson struggled with believing he even deserved good things after everything he’d lost. Aubrie spoke life into him and offered unconditional acceptance, while Dyson gave her the reassurance that she was worth staying for. It took Aubrie a while to fully trust that Dice was choosing her, but once they locked in…they LOCKED in 😭 Neither of them played about each other and they were QUICK to let people know disrespect would absolutely not be tolerated.
What I did struggle with a bit was the amount of off-page development. I wish we had actually seen more of their relationship evolve instead of being told about certain moments after they happened. I felt the same way about some of the other events in the story because I wanted to experience those moments alongside them.
That aside, this was a feel-good story (with its fair share of drama, just not between the couple) about not allowing your past to define your future, believing you’re worthy of good things, and trusting karma to handle the rest.
Aubrey & Dyson were exactly what I needed with some of my favorite tropes. Reconnection, marriage contract, abusive parents.
It had the perfect pacing. I do think I missed some background on Aubrey and I almost felt like she was a background character in her own story but I truly enjoyed this.
Thank you to Podium for the ALC because babyyy… the narration and production ATE. The voice actors did their thing and really carried the experience. Now the story? It started off strong and had me locked in especially with Dyson’s background and all that heavy emotion. Some parts hit, and others felt just a bit too dramatic without enough depth. This was my first book by this author. Overall 👌🏽
This was the sweetest story. Aubrie really did have the purest heart. It was good to see her father and brother atone for their previous treatment of her. Dyson is the most resilient young man. They way his mother treated him would be difficult for the strongest person to bounce back from. I love a good HEA.
I’d be interested in reading more about Kris and Hawk.
Their paths first crossed in high school, but a terrible accusation took him away for ten years. Now Dyson is back home and focused on getting his life back on track. Until he sees her, and those feelings come rushing back. Will Aubrie remember the guy he once was, or will his past mistakes impact their growing future?
I had fun meeting Dyson and Aubrie. Both of them had terrible parents, but luckily, they had a good support system. Still, Dyson should’ve let Aubrie drag his mama one good time. If you want a quick and enjoyable weekend read, this is a great choice.
All I See Is You by Nek Mills was one of those reads where you’re like… this drama is SO unnecessary, but I’m still locked in 👀
Both main characters really went THROUGH it, and half the time I was shaking my head like “it didn’t have to be this way,” but it definitely made for a good read.
Let’s talk Aubrei… being the outside child is already hard, but her family made it a whole personal vendetta. At this point, it’s truly sins of the father, and she’s the one paying for it. I will say, I loved her relationship with her grandmother—that was such a bright spot. Grandmothers are important, and that bond really showed up when she needed it most.
Now Dyce… MY GOODNESS. That situation made me so mad. Having to grow up fast and be the responsible one because your mother is just TRASH!. Ugh disgusting!
I listened to this on audiobook, and it was actually really good for bringing the characters to life. I love an immersive reading experience, and this definitely gave that. Shoutout to Podium Entertainment for the ALC!
Overall, messy, frustrating, but still a solid read that keeps you tuned in.
Dyson was not a product of his environment and he set out to do and want better for himself!!!…His selfish mother, now that piece of work wanted him to be a product of the environment and a replica of the man she wanted in her life!!!… That cost him 10 years of his life!!!…His village, amazing and made sure he did not come home without a foundation to stand on!!!… The good he did for others and the good they knew was in him was the reasons his blessings poured down!!!… He helped a young lady out without asking for anything in return and that young lady, helped change his life!!!…Aubrie was a beautiful hunt lady, inside and out!!!…She struggled with her grandmother, but never complained!!!… I loved everything about this book and I was glad that Gruff and Dyson’s mom got their karma!!!…Diedre was poison and as a grown woman, the product of the choices she made!!!…
This was goodt. Bottom line, Sunflower ain’t play the radio about her Dice. Find you somebody else to play with, okkkk. The way she stood on business behind that man had me grinning the whole time.
My only concern is the situation with Dice’s mom. We never get a real explanation for why she hated him so much, and it’s unsettling. The way she treated him was extreme, and the story never gives us anything to justify or explain it. If you’re going to make a mother that cold and hateful, then we need the backstory to match. It just fell into that typical urban-fiction pattern where they just throw in the “drug-addicted mother” character without depth. They all start feeling the same after a while.
Outside of that, the book ate. Sunflower and Dice carried. Their bond was solid, their energy matched, and Sunflower rode for him like nobody’s business. Loved it.
I absolutely loved this audiobook. Dyson was truly one of a kind. An ambitious star athlete focused on building a bright future for himself. Aubrie aka his Sunflower 🌻 was equally driven, feisty, and determined, which made their dynamic so enjoyable to follow.
When their worlds randomly collide, it gets cut unexpectedly after some foullll mess. Their connection feels almost instant, basically love at first sight. From there, the story unfolds with just the right amount of drama to keep things interesting without taking away from the romance.
This book had me smiling, laughing, and honestly reflecting on how realistic the characters and situations felt. It felt like a glimpse into real life for so many people, which made the story even more impactful.
Honestly, this was supposed to be a quick read, but halfway through it kinda losing it grip on me, hence I need some time to get it through.
The narrators are doing good overall, they get their characters come alive from their narrations.
The storyline started off as great, but then, not so much really stands out in the plot..some part are nicely done..mostly dramas, not intense, just some usual family dramas & briefly shitty bf drama ones.. Overall, it’s a light and quick life drama + romance kinda read, if you feel like that’s your go for the night or day, maybe you’ll enjoy it. Thank you Podium for the ALC! 🖤
Sunflower and Dysons story was so beautiful. These two showed up for one another in ways no one else could ever. Dysons few interactions with Sunflower as a teen led to her (along with a few others who knew his story) supporting him for over 10 years without him knowing, during a time when he felt he didn’t have anyone else.
I love how their story didn’t have a ton of back and forth or drama to their relationship. Now that’s not to say their story was without drama because baybee there was plenty.
3.5 stars "Show them, you may have bent, but never broken." "Her small smile was just enough to brighten the gloomiest day."
Big thanks to Podium for the ALC!
This is a very quick listen! This story is messy and has so much intense drama (familial) that I ate it up and enjoyed listneing to. I liked the insta connection between Dyson and Aubrie, it felt believable for their story and the journeys that they were embarking on. I like that the both of them were supportive for one another and that they did not let their past define their future.
I love a good redemption story! Dyson just wanted to graduate high school and have a successful career in Counseling. But he had a trifling mother! She was so trash! After spending 10 years in prison for something he did not do he came out trying to start over with a fresh start.
Aubrie had many hardships in her life but through it all she always kept a positive disposition. Several times Dyson came to her rescue when she was at her lowest. Watching them reconnect and fall in love was just so beautiful!
This was such a beautiful love story! How Dyson and his sunflower loved on each other and played no games when it came to either one of them 😍😍 that’s my kind of love. Now let’s get on his trifling mommy and dusty man I’m glad them two got what they deserved messing that child life up they way they did. The evil stepmom and daughter both can kick rocks. Hank and Kris ❤️ nana and her dad and tre 😍 love them all. Nek mills pen game no joke ❤️
The family drama in this book cut deep. Dyson’s need to be loved by his family and the way he kept reaching for that love honestly broke my heart. No matter what he faced, he kept going, and that showed so much strength, loyalty, and determination. His story felt real and emotional from start to finish. The narration was wonderful, and Winston James gave so much heart to every scene, especially with the dual narration.
This was a very sweet and sexy book. If you want immediate action, this book doesn't have it, but once it gets started, it's 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Dyson's mom abs her boyfriend was trifling and money hungry. I loved Dyson and his Sunflower together. I loved the support from his friends and people along the way that saw the good in Dyson. This is a must read.
Thank you Podium Entertainment for an ALC, I enjoyed the narrators.
Dice and Aubrie are raised off of survival and after some unfortunate events they cross paths again ten years later. From friends to lovers in a convenience type of way, it’s a solid palette cleanser with urban elements and a lot of family drama.
I hated how Dyson’s mom did him. That was messed up!!! Aubrie’s step mother and sister were no better. I’m glad Dyson and Aubrie were able to get what they both deserved. Overall, this was a good book! The narration was on point. I would definitely recommend this audio book.
Dyson was so strong and overcame so much...from abuse and a crazy mother to the prison system. Aubrie and Dyson both walked a similar path of being unloved and misunderstood. They both had a passion and love that they only had for one another. From overcoming crazy family members and ex's to destroying a garden, it was just ridiculous.
This was a good book!! Dice had a mama from hell!! Aubrie or Sunshine was soo sweet!! She looked out for Dice for 10 years and he didnt even know it!! I loved watching their love grow!
Dyson & Sunflower’s story is everything. They were both there for one another during their time out need just because they knew it was the right thing to do and had such caring hearts.
They did not play about each other. One thing about the FMC is she was low key until you made her go there. The MMC was also the sweetest man to her, even though he been through it! 10/10
I got lucky to have been given the audio for this from Podium. It was a great read. A few bits of the story I felt abit rushed or just jumped (different days) But it kept me interested and I loved the characters
This was cute! Dyson picked right where he left off after being released from prison. Aubry has definitely been added to my AGGY FMC list though. 🤣 Overall performance 3.75 ⭐️Thank you for the ALC Podium Entertainment.
