FREELY GIVEN is the final installment in The Silversaar Legacy Trilogy. There's more dragons, more magic, and more elves. Just a whole lot of MORE.

Dragons arise. Memory calls.

Malachai, the Dragon King, has usurped the throne. His plan to dominate the realm is underway.

Josef finds himself in Kharsh among the orcs, broken – in a culture of pride and guts. Aeryn retreats to the Southern Forest and is drawn into the political machinations of the elves.

Despite Silversaar’s advice that they’re better together, they find themselves a world apart. Each must fight their own battles and survive if they’re going to find a way to defeat Malachai and come back to each other.

After finishing reading Freely Given a couple of weeks ago, I had to let it settle before writing my review. I did this because I wanted to confirm my initial thoughts, mainly being that this was the best book and my favorite of the trilogy. Story. Story. Story. That's what I love best of this book. The twists, the turns and the mysteries within the world had me continually turning the pages. As with the previous two books, there were a number of moments that really shocked me. I also believe that this was the most well-written of the three books, in terms of description and dialogue. There were quite a few scuffles and battles, which were painted perfectly in my mind.

Overall, a very fun read, a good conclusion to the series, and room for more stories within the setting.

Wonderful conclusion to trilogy

The third and final installment was as good as the first two. The story took a few surprising twist, yet proceeded as one might hope. Throughout the series the characters became more developed and likable, growing up in the reader almost as friends. A very good series that does not disappoint.

It was a fun read

I enjoyed this trilogy. Don't often Tate books, but I felt these were exceptional. The drafos, the elves, the humans the magic. What more can you ask for.

What did I think? Well. I could sum up what I think with one word. This book...was absolutely AMAZING! Of the trilogy this third installment was the best yet. It kept the same heart, but had a different tone as the characters entered into a war, and Josef and Aeryn were separated.
My favorite character: Onesimus!!!
My least favorite character: Quendar
My favorite scene: That's tough. Probably one of my favorites is when Commander the messenger bird is being a stinker. Lol.
I think that Jordan St. James is a great author. This book has the potential to be a classic in a few decades time. Everything was wrapped up nice and neat in the trilogy and it makes you hungry for more in this world! The characters developed and grew, and had to take responsibility for their actions. I hope this series becomes very successful for their sake. I could see it becoming a movie. Keep going, Jordan St. James!

(Side note, if you don't like reading books, and prefer listening to them, check out the audio book version. The narration is outstanding!)

This is hands-down the most ambitious entry in the series so far. The narrative boldly expands from following Aeryn's personal journey to tracking the full scale of an entire war, weaving in multiple plot lines and raising the stakes dramatically. The scope is impressive and thrilling, showcasing real growth in the author's storytelling.
That said, the project's sheer ambition occasionally strains at the seams. It might have benefited from being split into two books to give each major thread the breathing room and deeper development it deserves. A few moments feel rushed amid the epic sweep.
Still, the result is a very enjoyable, entertaining story well worth the read.
