To save her son, she'll marry a man who has sworn off love.

After her wealthy in-laws launch a vicious custody battle, widowed nurse Kelsey York is out of options. Her only hope is a marriage of convenience with Preston "Mac" MacCormack—the island's resident grumpy billionaire who is determined to sail away from his own tragic past. The deal is she gets a husband with the power to protect her son, and he fulfills his grandfather's dying wish.

But due to their forced proximity in a small cottage on the coast of Maine, their carefully constructed arrangement begins to crumble. The lines blur between protector and partner, between a fake marriage and a real found family. Mac finds himself captivated by the fierce single mom and her bright, curious son, the two people who threaten his vow of solitude.

Just as they begin to imagine a future together, a shocking act of violence reveals the true depths of their enemy's obsession. And when a grim discovery is unearthed on the grounds of the island's historic mansion, they realize the secrets of Widow's Point are far deadlier than they ever imagined.

This page-turning romantic suspense is perfect for readers who love a protector hero, a resilient heroine, and a story where a temporary arrangement leads to a love that could last forever.

Captivating

I like I could escape into a world of others. Characters that are smart, down to earth and felt real. The nurse practioner was knowledgeable, and reminded me of my experiences. The book vowed seamlessly and glad there is a trilogy.

Like a boat rocking in the waves

This book pulls you in little by little. The beginning was a little hard to get into but after a couple chapter, I was hooked. Kelcie and Mac's story was very sweet and Truman...I want a grandpa like that! Mac had a lot of grief to get over which was a main subplot but HEA and my heart swoons. I read the next book in the series so im looking forward to the 3rd book.

Widowed Nurse Kelsey’s life is being destroyed by her in-laws. Only one option left to her. Will it actually work. A beautifully written love story with suspense to make this a book you can’t put down.

This not a book normally I read, two people who are slowly finding each other and and falling in love. in-laws trying to take her son. I like books based in maine. But I will let you find out for yourself how out it turns out. But I do recommend reading.

A sweet HEA love story but somehow it didn’t pull me in as much as I hoped. All quite predictable really. And why do so many stories depend on people having oodles of wealth to solve problems?

This book dealt with last wishes in such a positive and meaningful way it was profound. There was of course some mystery and a love story but the most important impact was Truman! Def great read!
