1950s - A man arrives on the North Norfolk coast of England in a stolen yacht. He only has a vague idea who he is. Quite soon strange happenings have him embroiled in secret societies, government covert operations and desperate survival.
Before the Wolfhound is a prequel to Burning Wolfhound and reveals the dark early life of Bernhart Smith a government assassin.
Set in 1950's England. The action takes place in London, the London Docks and the Suffolk & Norfolk coasts.
In the context of other books in the series, this one is chronologically the first. It provides the reader with the backstory as to how the main character became involved with the "Wolfhound" in the first place.
To me, the book intersects reality, a dream-like world, and the author's vivid imagination. It was an interesting read.
This book contains scenes that are not suitable for all audiences. Therefore, I recommend parents read the book before deciding whether or not to allow their teenage children to do so.
