William Walker Jr.

“In case anyone missed what went down here, this woman is now my property,” Liam announced loudly. “You got something to say? You say it to me,”

Denise needed money; she just was served foreclosure papers on her home on her birthday no less, so when she gets a call from her co-worker Roni, asking if she wouldn’t mind covering her shift, she jumps at the chance. She never expected that her life would change with such a simple reply, Denise is left with no other choice, desperate to provide a better life for her thirteen year old twins, she begins to work for Liam, Roni’s brother and the VP of the Heaven Hill MC. Liam doesn’t want to expose Denise, the meek single mother, to their fucked up world but he has no choice but to obey the orders given by his father, the President of the club. Liam offers her his protection in return she has to do certain jobs they can’t, it’s the only way to keep her and her kids safe especially now that Denise’s reporter friend is hell bent on exposing the club and all their secrets

As scared as Denise is, she can’t deny the feeling of safety wen Liam is near, having put her life on hold to care for the twins, she’s done everything all alone forced to grow up and just survive. With Liam, she is free, she has a second chance to live again even if it’s in a unconventional life where you are wanted and shot at. Liam knows Denise is different and as she embraces the life, he can’t but feel that everything is as it should
With her it wouldn’t be fuck and run. It would be waiting on the front porch with a gun when boys came to the house to pick up Mandy for a date. It would mean giving Drew the birds and bees talk – taking him to his first strip club when he turned eighteen. Instead of feeling panicked, he was completely calm. That, more than anything else, told him that he was ready for this.

Denise’s reporter friend Meredith, doesn’t know when to quit, regardless of the countless warnings she’s received, she’s already too far in to back out now. Revenge is a dangerous game and Liam will stop at nothing to protect the club and family. In Denise he finds refuge, a warm caring woman to help him stay grounded. He’s already laid claim to her, it’s up to him to make her see that her place is right at his side.
“You love going all caveman on me, don’t you?” His blue eyes glowed, and the corner of his mouth tilted in amusement.

“You love it when I go all caveman, don’t act like you don’t.”

I really really liked this read, it was different than the other MC books I’ve read, coming at the lifestyle from a whole new angle, it isn’t an in your face this is our way of life kinda book. The Heaven Hill MC is not your cookie cutter club, they make their living using unconventional ways, they live by their own rules. Although there was some sense of closure with Liam and Denise in Meant To Be there is a much larger story that I can look forward to that will continue on to the next book, Meredith & Tyler’s story.

Throw in danger, an estranged mother, a bastard-ish father, a rival MC, a too-curious-for-her-own-good young reporter and some sexy times and you have a recipe for an enjoying read. This is not your vanilla, we just go for long motorcycle rides kinda of MC. These guys are firmly in the grey side of life. They are criminals and they thrive on it. But above all they take care of each other.

description

This book came as a surprise and totally blindsided me. I am not used to enjoying freebies so much but this story was an exciting exception. Yes, the story was a little slow in the beginning and most of Denise actions didn't make too much sense. There was some violence, criminal activities, drug runs and abuse but HELL! this is an MC; I will definitely come back for more!

This was a 3.5 star read for me, and I thought it was a great beginning to what promises to be a thrilling series. I have always loved "biker romances," and I thought Laramie Briscoe did a great job in adding all of the factors that make this kind of romance enjoyable.

The story begins with introducing us to a single mom of 13 year old twins who is becoming down on her luck. Denise Cunningham has just been giving a notice of disclosure on her home, and on her birthday to boot. She is so far in debt, she is panicking that she will lose her home. Like any mother, she is feeling a desperate need to protect her twins from the heartaches of life. She recieves a phone call from a lady that she works with, and who is the sister of a member of the motorcycle club in town. She does her a favor, which puts her on the radar of the Heaven Hill Motorcycle Club's president. William Walker demands that his son, Liam (who is the VP of the gang) use Denise's unfortunate circumstances to their advantage and send her on a drug run for the club. This goes against Liam's comfort level; but he does it anyway because he needs to follow orders.
Denise's first instinct is to give him a huge, HELL NO!!! but she realizes this is her only chance to save her children's home. Like any mother who is out to protect her children; she dives into the illegal activities of the motorcycle gang!

There are some events that happen in this book that are upsetting; but they are situations that tend to come with the harsh lifestyle of a motorcycle club. Even though there are some pretty disturbing scenes, they are not as graphic as some books I have read. I think that is where my rating comes in, I felt that the book could have been more descriptive in some parts. And as usual, I could always use more sex in my stories!!LOL The sex that was in here was great; but again I felt like more detail could have been added! ;-P I did really enjoy the story though, and I am eager to dive into the second book to learn more about Liam's best friend, Taylor! This is a series I would definitely encourage readers to try, and I look forward to more books about the "Heaven Hill" Motorcycle Club!

A great start to the series... Hit a great high in mid-point in the book and ended off with a great bang that made me keep trying to look for more... but it still kept saying "the end"

But seriously... it's bikers therefore I am soooooo in for the next chapter of the Heaven Hill MC

i have been reading this on and off for almost 3 weeks and considering its only 250 pages long, that pretty much says it all. it started off promising and i liked the setting and tone to the story however around 30% i noticed not much was was really going on. i needed more connection between the hero and heroine. suddenly denise is under protection of the club and she and liam are 'ment to be'. it happens too fast, or honestly WHEN did it happen?!

the story slowed down in places and i think it would have benefited from more action and bad asses tbh. our relationship lacked steam. usually i wouldn't be concerned with that but i felt their connection was out of nowhere and didnt come across overly genuine.

there's 8 books within the series so i really wanted this to be good so i could throw myself into the heaven hill world but i dont know if i could continue other then the fact that merideth & tyler's story is next and i do actually want to know how she comes back from what happend to her in this book, so because of that i may give it a go. tyler intrigues me but i just hope there is more connection and believabilty to them. people seem to enjoy the next few books more than the this first one so hopefully thats the case for me too.

this book did have a good underlying story, it just lacked in action and romance which ultimately drawns me in to a book in this genre. over all i just didn't feel it. moving on.

Bikers are my weakness. There I've said it. I was in a book daze with no idea what to read after the emotionally exhausting books I had just finished. I was looking for something not dark and a quick read.
First let me say that I enjoyed this book. Is it one of my faves? No, but I do see potential with the series. There's just a certain something that I've grown accustomed to in my biker reads and it was missing in this one. Also it came across as resembling Sons of Anarchy a little too much.
description
This book is short, and even though there is some action, there's not too much drama or angst between the hero and heroine. I also liked that there was no instalove or instalust between the main characters. They're relationship just kind of fell into place after Liam claimed Denise as his property. Even though I did not agree with the illegal acts the heroine participated in, it was great that she stood by her man and always had his back. Liam is the the VP of the motorcycle club and a very bad guy, I guess this comes with the territory. Anyway at first I wasn't sure how I felt about him, but he slowly but surely redeemed himself.

Overall this was an enjoyable read, that I would recommend to my fellow biker romance enthusiasts. I look forward to seeing the direction the author takes the series. I will be reading book two because I loved Tyler, and I'm interested in seeing how his relationship with Meredith plays out. They definitely have a few hurdles to overcome.

I feel bad only giving this 2 stars, but I was underwhelmed with this book. Denise and Liam meet through his sister and Denise ends up doing a job for Liam's MC. Things happen and Denise and her kids need to move in with Liam for safety. Their relationship felt like it was out of convenience not attraction. Also there were times the h would question if Liam had slept with certain women but she never asks and we never find out. I would have liked it better if the author didn't have Denise wonder about it since she never had the nerve to ask. Also there were too many POV's. In the course of this book we hear from the H, h, H's best friend, h's friend, H's dad, H's mom, H's sister and a bad guy. Way too many for me. And the h is a single mom who has devoted her life to her kids, but the minute she is in with the MC she is fine with letting others care for her kids. Half the time she is asking the H where her kids are and they are usually with other MC kids or being watched by H's sister. It seemed weird to me. Safety gang safe

3.5 Need More Cowbells Stars

I needed more something on this one. More connection. More bad asses. More steam. More cowbells. I wanted this to be good. It has all the things I love in a great story. The characters were interesting. THere were Alpha Males, motorcycle guys at that. A great heroine. Strong but struggling. I just didn't feel it. I needed to feel what they felt more.

Denise is single mom with twin 13 year olds. She gets sucked into a situation just trying to help a friend. Ends up she is now on the radar of a Motorcycle Club and their rivals.

Liam is a VP of the MC. He doesn't do relationships. He is just trying to keep his club going and his brothers alive. Until he meets Denise. He immediately feels protective of her and lets everyone know. See..here is the problem. I love the immediate protectiveness, but we don;t get his intensity. I want that intensity I know is there.

Denise and Liam have plenty of problems to overcome including his crazy mean dad, her need to take care of herself and her kids, not to mention, the people who are trying to kill them.

This is the first in the series and I hope Ms Briscoe can hit the intensity mark. I know its in there!

I’m really excited to introduce you to new author Laramie Briscoe and her Heaven Hill Series. This series centers on a motorcycle club and its participants. There may be some aspects of this book that will disturb some people; it’s not for the faint of heart. This is a romantic suspense and it’s gutsy, sexy, real, and you will constantly question right from wrong. Overall, this is a great first effort from this new author and I think she shows a lot of promise.

To say Denise Cunningham’s life has been a struggle is putting things mildly. Pregnant at 16 by an abusive boyfriend and thrown out of her home, Denise has struggled to make a life for herself and her now 13 year old twins. Unfortunately recent events have her feeling helpless once again and she finds herself desperate so when she’s asked by a co-worker’s brother to help out with an illegal activity she agrees seeing it as an end to her money problems. Little does she realize that helping out once will put her in the middle of things with no way out. First off let me say that I can sympathize with Denise and her plight very easily, however throughout the book I found myself questioning how readily she agreed to help without a thought as to how her choices would affect her thirteen year old son and daughter. I had to keep reminding myself that despite having teenage children that she herself is very young. Even with that I still wondered how as a Mom she seemed to have no problem letting her children be around people who commit a wide range of crimes and have the power to influence them. It was almost like after she became involved with the club, she disconnected from her children in some way and that saddened me greatly.

As vice president of Heaven Hill, William Walker, Jr. (Liam) has a growing influence and popularity with the club members. While he knows his place it’s evident that he and his father (the club’s president) don’t always see eye to eye and involving the young single mother, Denise is one of those times. Unfortunately Liam is undeniably taken with Denise and even her kids and finds himself almost immediately thrust into the role of protector and surrogate Dad. It was really hard not to like Liam despite his illegal activities and his Mother issues. He has this innate since of goodness in him and to be honest at times; he confused me because he doesn’t act like I would imagine someone so high up in a club like this to act. I often found myself wondering if there wasn’t more to Liam than meets the eye and given this is a series, I suspect we’ll see more of this intriguing man.

I enjoyed watching the relationship between Denise and Liam grow throughout the book. I liked that he was able to see her as more than just a downtrodden Mom and that he admired her for what she’s gone through in her life. Even though his upbringing was hardly typical, he shows a softer side with Denise. That’s not to say that their intimate scenes weren’t satisfying because they are pretty damn combustible together and Denise has a lot of time to make up for and Liam has no problems accommodating her wants and needs.

Being the first book in a series, we are introduced to a lot of characters who will no doubt at some point get their own stories which make me one happy girl. I’m especially intrigued by Liam’s friend, Tyler and his sister, Roni. While the major threat in this book was handled, there were several storylines that are ongoing and no doubt will follow through into the next books. Laramie Briscoe has done a great job of setting the stage for what promises to be an entertaining yet thought provoking series. Meant To Be You is well thought out and exciting and I look forward to seeing what happens next with the Heaven Hill Motorcycle Club.

Good initial conflict and premise. Characters held potential and there's still room for the series to come up. However, wasted opportunities are due to poor execution of plot sequence and exposition. Investment in more development of characters and backstory, plus good beta readers would help.

I’ve been meaning to read Laramie Briscoe’s Heaven Hill series for quite some time, especially with how I’ve really enjoyed other books by the author. Although I devoured Meant to Be in a single sitting, desperate to see how everything played out, I did not love this one in the way I have loved other Laramie Briscoe books.

Meant to Be was an interesting story, one that has left me curious to see how things play out for the other characters throughout the series. Although interesting, it did not hook me in the way I had hoped. The emotions were never as intense as I’d expected, and the events were never as shocking. We touched upon a lot of things that could have made this a powerful read, but they were never taken as far as they could have been.

From reading other Laramie Briscoe books, I know this one is not representative of the author’s usual standard of work. Therefore, my fingers are crossed the series hooks me more the deeper into it I get. There was a lot of potential here, and I’m ready to see it play out in the later books.

Yeah, this one didn't do anything for me. Where to begin... well, I didn't find the characters very dynamic. And the multiple POV's was simply confusing. I don't mind more than one POV in a story, but there are so many in this book and they aren't separated by anything. Same scene, different POV's from one sentence to the next. It's odd, just odd.

There were several unbelievable things going on in this story as well that made me scratch my head. For instance, this single mother of twin 13 year old children, who has done absolutely everything in her life for these kids and has spent the last 13 years devoting herself to being a good mom, suddenly finds herself agreeing to run drugs for a known violent MC. Um, OK, I'm a mom, I get it... you need the cash to keep your family afloat and would do anything to make sure your kids are taken care of. But, it seems like once the MC issues come into the picture, her kids suddenly disappear. They're an afterthought. I think at one point, the kids are left home alone at night. While there are bad people clearly after her and the people she is associating with. How would you leave your kids unattended? And throughout most of the book, the kids are gone at a friend's house (a boy and girl 13 yr old twins hanging out at the same friend's house... really? Doubt it.) or at the MC with other club kids, or being watched by the H's sister. Seems like the devoted mom is constantly unaware of where her kids are. She even has to ask. It just seemed super lame and off.

The chemistry between Denise and Liam was pretty much nonexistent. Felt like there wasn't really attraction so much as it was convenience. And he "claims" her without her even being a club fixture? She's basically a civilian and he lays claim? I've read several MC books and know all about the "property of" stuff, but I have never read this in another MC book. Laying claim to an unwilling civilian. She doesn't even like him at this point. Also, sex scenes.... lame. My opinion, of course, since it's my review... but, hot they were not. A lot of the intimate encounters were just implied. I'm reading an alpha male, bad ass, MC romance, I want hawt, steamy scenes. Sorry, not sorry. If you don't like the steamy stuff, I'd say this won't be an issue for you.

Finally, this just felt like an amateur biker gang asking to be caught doing something illegal. Running drugs in an 1980-something avocado green cutlass? Um, yeah, that won't attract anyone's attention at all. Especially when it's suddenly left by a biker gang outside a single mom's house and she drives it away and doesn't bring it back. Conveniently, the reporter who's been trying to break the case of the illegal activity of the MC wide open to become a famous journalist, just happens to live a few houses down from the single mom. How lucky for her. *rolls eyes* And the H's mommy issues he's been carrying around for 25 years.... well, give them some eggs and bacon and watch their 3 minute conversation melt away all those years of pain and problems. So sweet. Well, I think I've bitched enough about this book. Wouldn't recommend and won't be reading on.

This was my first foray into this particular subgenre of romance: biker. It's kind of cool to take a walk on the bad boy side. And bad boy for real. Not reformed. These are folks who are running drugs, extortion, cover ups, you name it.

So I liked Denise to a point. She is a single mother, up to her neck in debt and even after all the good things she has tried to do to bounce back from having and raising children alone early in life, the economy gets her in the end. ECONOMY, DAMN YOU!!! shaking my proverbial fist of injustice But I digress...

Like I was saying, Denise is cool but she has some moments where it's like girl get a back bone and tell these people to go eff off. Or go to the cops. Or something. Some of the stuff that happens, I actually blame Liam more than Denise. So here we go with my rant on this dude...

Liam is a punk and a piss poor criminal. Let's run through the list of stupid s*** that he did.

1. Denise is a random acquaintance of the H's sister from work. They don't hang out, they don't chat on the phone. They both work at the local super store together. She takes a shift for the H's sister so the sister can bail the H out of jail. What idiot biker gang is like "oh yeah let's let this RANDOM girl from my sister's/daughter's job run drugs. Yeah that's a GREAT idea!!!!". I mean really? REALLY? They must be trying to get caught...

2. So Denise is apparently neighbors with a local reporter and when she agrees to run drugs (imagine having someone twist your arm behind your back and asking you a questions kind of agrees) these idiot biker gang members leave a suped up lime green el camino in her driveway. Way to draw attention much? Not the mention the fact that these biker gang members are all of a sudden showing up to her house. These people are idiots. Anyways so back to the reporter friend to sees ALL OF THIS...

3. And leads me to point number 3, when it comes out that the reporter knows all this stuff - aside from having an informant - she can draw conclusions from you piss poor criminals, Liam's dad hauls off and slaps Denise across the face. She all bruised up and crap and what does Liam do? He gets mad and says nothing except "She's my property yada yada"

So I think the main thing that set me off with this book was the patriarchal culture of the biker gang and the inherent sexism. I mean really, the step before the engagement and marraige is wearing a leather vest that says "Property of". 3...2....1.... FEMINIST WAR CRY AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

And Done.

I'm not sure if I'll continue this series or not. I'm not super compelled but I'm also not completely turned off either. I also want to give biker romance another spin. If it's too sexist for me, then I'll have to let the genre go.

This is a call to all SOA fans, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU!!!!! This was like meeting the Son of Anarchy clan all over again. I have read many MC books, but it is not often that you wrap yourself up in a family book like this one. Meant To Be caught my eye from the first second, and I knew that I had to read it. I was not disappointed, and was given more than I had bargained for. This is not your typical biker romance, but rather an introduction to the entire Heaven’s Hell family. Liam and Denise are the main character, and they will be the main focus in this story, but I was completely taken by surprise to find that this story runs a few different stories alongside one another. It was also completely unexpected to uncover Liam’s character with his very dimensional personality. This big bad biker man was even more appealing as each and every layer of personality was unveiled. I see a very similar storyline beginning to form that will be very comparative to the Sons of Anarchy television series. Liam is a very strong and dedicated character, but when he finds himself becoming such a wonderful Father figure and devoted Lover he is finding himself in quite a predicament. I see this developing into a mission for the change in the MC world they have known. On the note of future predictions, I am very anxious to see the future cards for one handsome Native American Bad A**. That promises to be a heck of a story, and after this wonderful talented display I can promise more from this author to come, here on The BookWhisperer. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer JO~

2.5/5.0

This book started out with a bang! The author does a fabulous job of immediately drawing the reader in and landing an emotional punch that is felt right to the heart. I actually hurt for the situation Denise was in and the choices she was forced to make.

Unfortunately it went downhill from there fast. Denise’s character is written as a young mother whose entire focus is on loving and making sure her children can grow and have a happy life. But then every choice she makes goes completely against that characterization. Not only that, but those choices are so TSTL, they make no common sense whatsoever!

The overall plot also starts off intriguing and does keep one glued to the pages (if Denise’s idiotic choices can be overlooked.). However, this also just didn’t end up working for me. The main story revolves around an MC club that encourages and participates in drugs, gun running, intimidation (big time) and even abusing women. It is a realistic view of one-percenters (which this club is a part of) but there is no way I can accept them as the “heroes” of the book.

IF Liam and his younger generation brothers had worked to change things rather than going along with promoting the worst - maybe. And, things may turn around and go that way in later books in this series, but this installment just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Still, I may try another one just to find out if that does happen.... We’ll see.

This series and this book had such good reviews that made me read it. However, it just didn’t click with me.

What I DID NOT LIKE
- I didn’t like how Liam (H) had no backbone standing up to his dad who was the mc prez but making wrong decisions that put the club in jeopardy.
- I didn’t like Denise (h) who was supposed to be a single mom of 13 yr old twins but she made the godawful decisions
- I absolutely hated Meredith the reporter who was so TSTL and I will never read her book

Tyler (hero of Book 2) who is Liam’s friend was interesting but unfortunately, his heroine is Meredith the TSTL reporter. I wish he got another heroine in his book.. His alpha protective hotness was wasted on Meredith.

The writer was clearly a fan of Sons of Anarchy, as she practically copied the plot. Unfortunately, she didn’t do it as well. I’m giving it two stars only because I like that series -without that, it would’ve been just one star.

This had a lot of potential. I even really enjoyed it up until 3/4ths of a way in. I liked Denise and her backstory and I liked Liam. But then little thoughts kept creeping up. Like, for instance, why would the club use an unwilling person to run drugs? The club delivered a car, with the "package" to her house. Someone followed her to make sure she made the delivery and picked her up. Why go through all the trouble when they could have done all that without forcing an unwilling person into doing the dirty work, who might end up going to the police about what they are being forced into? It made no sense to me whatsoever. For people who don't want to go to prison, this seemed like the worst idea ever.

I've done property research for several years. The part in here, where Denise is forced to pretend to be a temp and steal public tax records is laughable. It's public record. The deeds to the land, taxes, name of who holds the property are all public record, meaning, you can go online (if your courthouse has their records set up to be viewed online) or go to the courthouse and request copies. Having to lie and steal these records isn't plausable. I really have no idea if the author had failed to research what it would take to get these kinds of records or if she needed something else to put Denise in the accomplice role.

Towards the end is where I finally decided I wasn't liking this book so much anymore. There were too many parallels to the show, Sons of Anarchy. At first it didn't bug me. I was more intrigued with the idea of a book SOA. But the more that happened that reminded me of certain scenes from SOA, the more I started to get upset. I'm not sure if this was the authors intention, to borrow from the show or just by coincidence, but the more that I read that screamed SOA, the more I wanted to distance myself from the book. Also, the issue Liam had with his mother seemed to be resolved way to fast. For a guy who wants nothing to do with his mother at all, he sure does flip a switch and decides its time to put the past behind them. This was too fast and unrealistic. There is a lot I'm willing to overlook, as far as timing goes for development, but this was too much too fast. Liam has refused to even speak to his mother for years. Decades. But all of a sudden he wants a relationship with her.

I'm a bit sad this didn't work out for me. I liked it at first. If I had stopped reading little over half way, I would have been much happier with the book.

I think I've just found another biker series for me to stalk after the conclusion of Signal Bend. Thanks to Steffi for her recommendation on Heaven Hill MC series. This might just be the first time I never heard they talk about club whores, gangbang and other debauchery. Shocking.

Denise is a single mom of her 13 year old twins. She got embroiled with the Heaven Hill MC when she was desperate for cash to make ends meet. I'm not going to judge her for making some bad decision because she was alone, desperate and she had three mouths to feed. However, she never thought she will be screwed that badly when her life is being threaten.

The silver lining of all this is she meet Liam, the VP of the Heaven Hill MC and also the son of the President. He might be the one who tempted her into the dark side, but he genuinely care for her safety and decided to bestow her his protection.

Liam is a very likable hero from the get go. He had the easy-going demeanor and is a total gentleman to Denise. He only get intense/violent when he is working for the club. He's not the kind of alpha hero who throw a woman he lust after to the nearest wall and bang the shit out her. Yeah, that is totally hot. But that's just not Liam. Their relationship took sometime to build up even after he move Denise and her children into his home for their safety.

Denise is one of those rare biker heroine who manage to accept the new lifestyle with stride. Initially, she was scared witless and worry about her child safety. But later on, she manage to come to terms with her situation. She even helped out with some club business. I like that she accept Liam for who he is and didn't go all self righteous and accuse him of being a criminal. There was limited amount of sex scene, but honestly, the story had a strong enough plot to keep things moving.

The story was told in multiple POV, even within the same chapter there are a few POVs, but never once did I felt confuse. I knew exactly whose POV it was every time it switch. I like the tone and the direction of the plot. It had heavy emphasize on the club business that kept me engage from beginning to the end. There is a rival gang, Vojnik that wanted to set Heaven Hill MC up for a fall.

There is a side plot about Tyler, the club brother and a nosy reporter, Meredith. Their relationship development make me anxious for their story next. Overall, a promising start for a biker series that make me want to read the subsequent books. This book put more emphasize on club business than romance. But for me, it works anyway.

I haven't read any other books by Laramie Briscoe, so I cannot compare this book to any of her other works. While she moves through the larger concept of a book well, I find her attention to detail wanting.

A single young mother of twins has fallen on hard times. It is implied that Denise, the young mother, has worked hard to give her children the best life that she can given she has no family, friends, and very limited resources. Yet the moment the opportunity presents itself, she finds herself in cahoots with a member of a motorcycle gang.

For the remainder of the book, these children all but disappear, except to substantiate critical (and violent) decisions. If we are to believe that the soft spoken but strong willed Denise loves her kids, we cannot help but wonder, since it is insufficiently developed, how a mother could become the pawn and "bitch" of a biker who thinks murder is a means to an end.

As for the love story, that all by itself is odd. Liam, the biker and VP of the motorcycle gang, is a mess because of his past, his current responsibilities, and his desire for more. Even so, the only way this connection with Denise is discussed is through sexuality. No, "I want more for myself, you and the kids..." The story is, "This is who I am, do I like it? No! But, here's a jacket (cut) with a patch that claims you as mine!"

I give it two stars because it certainly transported me to a world I am unfamiliar with and I learned a handful of phrases and words I can add to my vocabulary and point of reference.

** 4.5 out of 5 Stars **

I needed my MC fix and this book did it for me. I don't really know what I was expecting and this book has been sitting on my Kindle for awhile. I'm one of those people who when going through a phase buys several different versions of the same kind of books. So I kept thinking about bikers and this one was there so there I went reading. I loved the heroine. She's strong and determined. Life has handed her some not so pretty situations and she's dealt with them. Liam was everything I love my biker men to be. Hot, and good buried beneath the bad. I loved how he became so protective her her. As for side characters, I absolutely couldn't stand the President which was his dad. I get that this was supposed to be hardcore but I just didn't get him. The writing style was easy to read and the book flows well. It kept me engaged with just enough drama that I could't put it down.

Things I liked:

Liam's possessiveness
Date night
Denise's drive to do what had to be done
Bada** biker with tattoos and a sexy smile ;)
The ending

Things that didn't work:

The President
Denise's kidnapping...just wasn't feeling it, expected more drama
Instalove

All in all Meant to Be was a great book and I really enjoyed it. I give it 4.5 stars. If you need your MC fix like I do then I would give this one a try!

I got this as one of my freebies and I am hooked. I have a new found love for MC stories now since reading Madeline Sheehan's books.

This one has a great story of a single mother who ends up working for Heaven Hill MC all because of one phone call that will forever change her life. Unbeknownst to her, the VP claims her as his own. All within a few days she is uprooted from her home with her twins and moved into a strangers home who is the VP of the MC. As much as I found this hard to believe and understand it worked. The only way to understand is to read the story to understand what Denise was thinking. Liam never once made her feel unsafe and I think that has a lot to do with her easy acceptance.

I liked all the different POVs and the secondary characters. The main plot was good and some of the things that happened like the rape of Meredith will be continued into the next book. That will be more if Tyler's story with Meredith.

This is a good book and I will continue on with the series. This is the first book that I have read from this author and I am now a fan.

My Meant to Be Review . . .

This was my first foray into Laramie Briscoe and the Heaven Hill MC. This was on the MC lite for met at times. I did like it but it's also a bit forgettable. Since I didn't post this review when I originally read it. It took me forever to wrack my brain to bring it to the surface.

Denise Cunningham and William Walker Jr. AKA Liam

Liam was forced to be part of this MC world, and it may not have been his first choice. He also doesn't like all the things he has to do. Especially when he has to use Denise.

Denise got her self into a situation that the only way out was to make a deal with the devil.

"And we may. What's life without risks? "
"Comfortable"
"Do you want comfortable? Or do you want this out-of-control feeling we get whenever we touch each other?"

That deal with the devil ended up being the best deal she ever made. I liked it, it was okay and I'm intrigued to continue. We will see how it goes.

What an awesome book.
This is not your regular girl meets boy, they fall in love, and they all live happily ever after story.
It's gritty and real and hot.
I loved it!
I'll be honest, I went into the book not certain of how I'd like it, but I was pleasantly surprised.
It's an MC book about a club with well… with loose morals that came out before MC books were all the rage. The way everything is portrayed you can't help but understand why the choices are made the way they are.
Did I mention I loved it?
I read it in a little over a day because I was working too, but I could have easily read this in one sitting.
Plot is great. Story flows. Turmoil is real and you understand it. Romance is sexy. Secondary characters are perfectly written. Cover is sexy as hell.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a break from the norm and likes a bad ass biker with a seemingly heart of gold.
