Two words: Adrenaline rush

Fresh off her first book exploding everywhere, Maria is feeling a little imposter syndrome with her next book coming out in her series. She wants her Sophomore debut to be just as good if not better than the first release.
The majority of the story takes place at a book convention in Austin where she is trying to acquire rights for a movie deal on her first novel.
Shenanigans ensue but when she takes back her control (and her life) she becomes a force to be reckoned with. Think Elle Woods in Legally Blonde when she proves everyone wrong.

Fidel is by her side every step of the way but is waiting for the other shoe to drop. He continues to investigate the threat he believes is not over while also fighting feelings for the one woman he has sworn to protect but thinks he can’t have. As an accomplished hacker, he finds out a truth that could destroy everything he cares about and bring their world to its knees.

It gets juicy in the third act with the twists and turns that will make you audibly gasp. This was such a fun read and you really get a feel for the characters and how they are all connected. I cannot wait for the next book with Elias!!

Also, Katt promised us tentacle sex and she delivered! I’m looking at you Chapter 21!

I’m just going to say it, this is not my usual genre. Like, at all. But somehow Guard Dog completely pulled me in and refused to let go. I had a really hard time putting this book down!

Katt Andrews did such an incredible job with this. It’s so well researched and so well written that the story just flows effortlessly. No dragging, no skimming, just one of those books where you keep turning the page without realizing how much time has passed.

And the setting? The descriptions of Austin, Texas and the other cities are so vivid, I swear I felt like I was right there craving some Tex-Mex. Also, I’m still thinking about Fidel’s grandma’s chocolate cake! Katt Andrews, how about a recipe with the sequel? Asking for myself.

Bottom line, this book surprised me in the best way. Highly recommend stepping outside your usual genre and picking this one up. Clearly, I need to do that more often.

Fidel is quiet and feels best when he is behind a computer screen. He always follows the rules and denies himself what he has wanted since he was a kid. Now he is with Maria at this book festival and its a security nightmare.

This book pretty much picks up shortly after book 1 Guard Dog finishes. Everyone thinks everything is back on track but Fidel is still suspicious and thinks someone is after Maria. Now he is in a race against time and between his feelings for Maria and someone messing with his computer system he is slowly unraveling.

Though each book follows a different relationship it is best to read the books in order. I can't wait to get started on Book 3. This has been such a good series. I love the side characters as much as the main characters.

I was so excited for Maria's book. I absolutely loved her in book 1 she was hilarious, but in her book she just seemed a little spoiled. I liked the story and the guard dog world, this one was just not as good as the first one.

Oh Fidel 🫠

This was another great read. I absolutely loved that the FMC Maria was the sassy and firey one! She knew what she wanted and she was going for it.

This book had lots of action, sweet moment, push and pull relationship and some spicy moments.

After reading Guard Dog, I was unsure how this was going to play out and I loved how different the characters and storyline were. The Mafia adjacent activities and twist and turns kept me wanting to read more.
