Eternal Soulmate Trilogy #1

Rooted Wings & Phantom Wolf

Rate this book
She was just trying to survive grad school, retail chaos, and her way-too-sassy oracle cards.

He was the wolf she accidentally soul-whispered too-who's finally here to claim her heart (and maybe her pancakes).

Haili Everson has enough on her plate-homework, haunting intuition, enchanted dragons coming to life in her bedroom, and one very persistent soul connection whispering in her head. She never imagined to bond with an alpha wolf. But after eleven years of unexplained thoughts and dreams, Shevaron arrives-dangerous, devoted, and far too attractive for her sanity.

Shev has waited over a decade for Haili to come into her powers naturally. Now that she is about to fully come into her powers he can finally make his move. He's done lurking in the shadows of her soul. But claiming his stubborn, spell-slinging mate might take more than a playful growl in the back of her mind.

With magical mishaps, a mysterious revolution, and pancakes, Haili and Shev will have to fight for their before chaos claims it all.

Rooted Wings & Phantom Wolf is a cozy-spicy paranormal rom-com packed with soul-deep pining, witchy sass, dragon enchantments, and one alpha who's equal parts menace and marshmallow.

Rooted Wings & Phantom Wolf by Leah Silverwhisp is a charming and emotionally rich start to the Eternal Soulmate Trilogy. At its core is Haili Everson, a grad student juggling academic stress, chaotic retail shifts, and the playful sass of her oracle cards. Her life, though messy, feels grounded in reality—until a soul-deep connection she never fully understood materializes in the form of Shevaron, a stoic alpha wolf shifter who claims they are fated soulmates. From the very first encounter, their bond feels inevitable, and Silverwhisp does a beautiful job of blending the mundane with the magical, creating a narrative that is both enchanting and deeply personal.

The dynamic between Haili and Shev is where the book truly shines. Their relationship builds not on instant gratification but on years of silent connection, mutual respect, and quiet longing. Shevaron’s patience and Haili’s resistance create a tension that’s more emotional than dramatic, giving the romance a sincerity that’s often missing in more action-driven paranormal stories. The magic in this world isn’t just in the spells or supernatural lore—it’s in the emotional intimacy, the unspoken understanding, and the slow discovery of self and love. Silverwhisp infuses the story with a cozy warmth, allowing moments of humor, vulnerability, and healing to unfold naturally between the characters.

This is a paranormal rom-com that stands out for its gentleness. Rather than lean into high-stakes drama or over-the-top fantasy, Rooted Wings & Phantom Wolf invites readers into a softer, slower world where love and magic are intimately connected. The pacing feels deliberate and emotionally satisfying, allowing the characters space to grow and trust. With its witchy charm, grounded heroine, and a hero who’s more heart than heat, this is a story that lingers long after the final page. It's a celebration of destiny, emotional connection, and the kind of love that quietly transforms everything.

Leah Silverwhisp brings a perfect mix of emotion, magic, and fated love in her book Rooted Wings & Phantom Wolf. This isn’t just a paranormal romance—it’s a story that feels warm, funny, and surprisingly real. Haili Everson, juggling grad school stress and a wild retail job, suddenly finds herself magically bonded to a wolf shifter named Shevaron—someone she’s unknowingly been connected to for over a decade. And now he’s showing up for pancakes… and forever. 💖

What I really loved was how relatable Haili felt. She’s sarcastic, stressed out, and just trying to survive life. The way her thoughts raced, her fears, and her slow acceptance of something so big—it all felt very genuine. I could see pieces of myself in her, especially that tug-of-war between believing in something magical and staying guarded. Shevaron, on the other hand, was patient and grounding. His quiet strength made me feel safe as a reader, and their bond wasn’t rushed—it grew slowly and beautifully.

The witchy elements added a fun touch without overpowering the story. Haili’s sassy oracle cards and magical moments gave the book charm, while the romance added just the right amount of heat 🔥. It was cozy and spicy in the best way. The emotional connection between the two characters was strong, and I found myself smiling, blushing, and even getting a little teary-eyed at some points. It’s not just about finding your soulmate—it’s about being ready to accept them.

I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys soft yet passionate paranormal love stories, strong female leads, and slow-burn romance that pays off. 💕 It made me feel like I was part of something magical and emotional at the same time. I closed the book feeling full—like I'd just watched a love story unfold the way it was truly meant to. Can’t wait for the next one in the series! 🐾....

Unfortunately I couldn't enjoy this book, I found the narrative very disjointed, the writing style confusing, and the plot too underdeveloped.

There are significant jumps in time, honestly i thought i was reading about 2 people in their early 20s (or maybe even 18-19), but they are in their 30s, it doesn't read like so. I understand they've known each other for years in their head, but I didn't witness/experience that, what I experienced was them "meeting" for the 1st time when she was shifting and in pain, and 2 paragraphs later, them having s** in their wolf forms 😳 I can't even put into words my confusion! Was also tremendously confused as to why the knotting only occurred when in human form! would have thought it was the other way around!

Plot wise, there isn't any really, aparently some revolutionaries try to kidnap shifters that are about to shift near when the veil is thinner. For what you ask? No idea, to change things, what things? Don't know.. Is like the author thought there out to be something besides the romantic subplot and threw this in there with no rime or reason. These revolutionaries get their ass kicked very quickly by Haili dragons (yes you heard that right 🤣).

I just can't, tbh this feels like a bad joke, I was excited for this book, the author send me this from America and it has a nice handwritten dedication personalised to me 💔💔

I loved this book for a few reasons...

First, I really enjoyed how the author got to the point and really loved the plot along. I am really looking forward to future books to learn more about the characters, backstories, conflicts with antagonists, etc!

Second, I thought the narrators nailed this! I loved how each character was unique and easy to differentiate. I also loved the energy and tone shifts each narrator had throughout the book. Overall, it was awesome!

Lastly, I just had a great time reading this book. I was giggling and kicking my feet at the banter and really enjoyed the pack dynamic.

In closing, I'll just say that I WANT MOOOORRRREEEE of this story and these characters!
