What happens when the man who sees you best… is also the one keeping secrets? Cecilia Novak has always believed control is the key to survival. Keep your past buried, your goals sharp, and your heart locked away. After all, needing someone has never ended well—not for her, and not for the people she’s loved. She’s working an internship she didn’t want, an internship she’s overqualified for—but it’s the only stepping stone she has left. She is surrounded by people who don’t see her; except for one. Oliver. Quiet, composed, maddeningly thoughtful. And somehow, the one person who makes her feel truly seen. With him, she begins to wonder if safety could exist outside of self-preservation. But Oliver is hiding truths of his own—truths that could shatter everything they’ve built. Ink and Elegance is a slow-burn, emotionally tender romance about two people learning to belong—to themselves, and to each other. A golden retriever male love interest, a secretly soft grump heroine, and a romance full of emotional intimacy and quiet devotion.
It’s for the readers who’ve had to grow up too fast. For the ones who’ve healed alone. For anyone who’s ever been afraid to hope again—but did it anyway.
This story was filled with so much warmth and just the right amount of "smile and kick your feet." A cozy read from start to finish, it left me hopeful the kind of love showed between the MMC and FMC is still possible in today's society. Major props to the author for writing ACTUAL healthy conflict resolution, too. That was a refreshing bonus!! Overall, the word I'd use to describe "Ink and Elegance" is SWEET. Just sweet and easy and all-around enjoyable.
While so many other books make their mark by producing over the top, grand gestures and world-burning love, Edith managed to master creating love built on little moments and everyday simplicity. The way she weaves common problems and generational traumas and fears into the story grounds it in reality and makes a love like Cecilia and Jeremiahs possible for everyone who reads it. The playful banter was perfect, and there was just enough humor in it to make it funny while keeping it realistic. This was a perfect cozy romance and I cant wait for the next one!
First book I’ve been able to fly through in a while! Slow burn romance with awesome conflict resolution between characters, and seeing the support the mmc gives the fmc makes me kick my feet and squeal. Also Mr. Broke working for a bank cracked me up so much! I loved it!
I read this book in 3 days I couldn't put it down. It was so nice to find a good clean romance. On top of the great read, the book was a work of art. There was a blooming flower at the beginning of each chapter and if you flip through it transforms from a bud to a bloom like a flip book. Makes my heart happy. Looking forward to the next book.
