After the death of his wife, Evan Daniels retreats into isolation — a man trying to outrun memory in a house filled with it. But as the silence stretches on, something begins to shift. A voice. A presence. Something that knows him too well.
What begins as comfort becomes invasive. Familiar becomes uncanny. And the boundary between reality and something else... begins to blur.
As Evan’s grip loosens, he’s forced to question what remains of his identity — and whether the thing inside the walls is trying to help him heal... or something worse.
Without You is a haunting psychological thriller that weaves together love, loss, and the terrifying power of human desire. With lyrical prose and relentless suspense, it invites readers to question what they would sacrifice to hold on — and what might be lost when they finally let go.

He Was Here, his second novel, digs even deeper into the darkness—exploring justice, guilt, and the monsters we become when the systems we trust break us instead of saving us.

What would you do if you lost the love of your life?
Without You is a compelling and nail biting story of the lengths and repercussions a man will go through just to keep the woman he loves most in the world close. I struggled to put this book down. Every chapter kept me wanting more. More answers, more twists, more turns. You truly never know where the story was going to take you. With dual POV you get two different perspectives and depth on the story. As a fellow citizen of Cincinnati, OH, I loved the little Easter eggs throughout the story. Without You has everything from mystery, romance, suspense, and cliffhangers. A well deserved 5/5 ⭐️ read. I am honored I got the privilege of reading this book before it was released. I look forward to reading more of Anthony Malloy’s work.
Without You completely consumed me from the very first page. So much so, that I read the entire book in one day because I honestly couldn’t put it down . Every time I thought I’d take a break, I needed just one more chapter.
At its heart, this is a story about grief, love, and desperation, and how losing someone you love can seriously mess with your sense of reality. The emotions in this book feel heavy and raw in the best way, and the author does an incredible job of showing how love can turn into something all-consuming when you’re terrified of being without it.
What really made this book stand out for me was the psychological tension and the way it blends sci-fi elements with reality. You’re constantly questioning what’s real, what’s possible, and how much of what’s happening is driven by grief versus something more. That uncertainty creates this quiet, creeping fear that just builds and builds as the story unfolds.
This isn’t a loud or over-the-top thriller . It’s more unsettling and scary. The atmosphere feels claustrophobic, and some moments genuinely scared me because of how possible everything felt. I constantly thought about all the technology I’m surround by on a daily basis and how quickly advances in AI are occurring.
I also loved how the book explores how desperation and love can push people to make choices they never thought they’d make, while still making those choices feel understandable.
This is definitely one of those books that will stay in my head for a long time.
Highly recommend if you enjoy psychological thrillers with emotional depth and a hint of sci-fi, where the tension comes from grief, obsession, and the slow unraveling of the mind.
Great debut novel with a fascinating premise! Reminds me of a Blake Crouch novel or an episode of Black Mirror. Solid writing and great pacing made this a very quick and easy read.
I will say I was skeptical about the POV change halfway through the book, but it worked surprisingly well. I think if the POVs had alternated, I would have struggled to differentiate between narrators because they’re written very similarly. But luckily, that wasn’t the case.
Without getting into spoiler territory, I have a few nitpicks and questions about things that seemed too convenient or hand wavy. But that didn’t get in the way of enjoying this book.
Really solid debut novel, and I’m glad to have found it. Looking forward to reading what this author writes next!
Wow! I felt every single emotion there is during this book! I love the Point Of Views from some of the characters as well. I felt like what Evan was experiencing, I was right along there with him, meaning unsure, scared, and dreading walking around the next corner! IMO I give this 5 stars and could totally see this being a movie considering the times we are in right now. I loved it!!
I was sucked in immediately. Chapter one was a full love story that had me feeling grief for a character I knew for like 20 pages. The twists are divine all the way through!
I flew through this book! Very good read and very impressed by the descriptive writing. It made a somewhat nebulous concept easy to grasp and visualize
Very similar vibes to Dark Matter. Not a genre I would usually gravitate towards, but I really enjoyed this book!
Congrats to author, friend, and former colleague Anthony Malloy on the debut novel! I’ll be reading future releases!
Literally couldn’t put this down! The story sucked me in immediately and as soon as you think everything’s over, there’s another twist - all the way to the end! Really really enjoyed this one!
I’m normally a dark romance reader so when I started this book I was not expecting it to keep my interest but was I wrong. I loved it! I have suggested this book to my book club can’t wait to discuss it with the girls.
You won't be able to put this book down! Jaw dropping! Grief Love Murder Suspense A rogue Al
5 STARS. (But let’s be honest, any book that mentions Joe Burrow deserves 6 stars. IFYKYK) I went to bed thinking about this book. I woke up and thought about this book once again.
‘Without You’ is the debut Novel for Anthony Malloy, and if this work is any indication of what is to come this certainly won’t be his last. Normally, my rating system is a little kinder to a debut novel compared to a more decorated author – however this book? 5 stars no matter what aspect I look at it. It is that good. This book is a roller coaster of emotions. I related and sympathized with our MC Evan so much through his journey with grief, and I think a lot of other people will as well. It isn’t sugar coated, it’s raw, real and true loss of love and the grief that follows. From the first chapter we meet Evan and Nora and within the opening scene you can already feel the love there, how this loss is going to gut him before it even presents itself. That is what made this story flow so easily, it was like we were losing everything right there with Evan. It was hard to not let my mind wander to my ‘Nora’ while reading. If you lost the person, you loved most, wouldn’t you do everything you could to not forget? Wouldn’t you do whatever it takes to feel whole? To not feel like you carrying the grief alone? The best part about this story? It gave me hope. It reminded me no matter the lows, no matter how much you love someone, letting go is the hardest part, but also the most freeing. Having people that love you still, even if it’s not the same as the love you lost, those are the ones that will save you. Those are the ones that make life worth living again. Love wouldn’t be worth it if it wasn’t the most terrifying thing to lose. I highly recommend this book. Short chapters, multiple POV, captivating from the very first page. Just wow.
Entirely captivating, i couldn’t put this book down if i tried. It had me looking at every device in my house a little wild for a bit 😂. This book had a way of leading me one way and completely whirling me around the other, it was amazing! I did NOT guess what was happening and holy sh*t, when it all comes together it was truly a masterpiece.
This book portrays the levels we will go to to try to hold onto the things we love and it took a more sinister turn. Hats off to you Anthony.
Beautifully haunting. Without You is equal parts grief, love, and psychological suspense. Evan’s struggle between memory and madness kept me turning pages late into the night, never quite sure what was real. The writing is lyrical, the tension unshakable, and the emotional weight hits hard. A chilling and unforgettable read.
This book was amazing!! I read it as an arc and was hooked from the first chapter until the very end! The writing, the characters, the plot, the plot twist! Everything!! 🙌🏽
