This book was amazing! I loved the storyline. Emerald is that chick, and hopefully she’s able to find the happiness and peace that she is seeking. Love should be granted to us all but because cause of her fear of the unknown she’s not able to let herself completely go there. Dr. Jai, Dr. Jai, Dr. Jai what can be said about this man besides he exudes BDE and that’s to be appreciated with the way he treats our girl Emerald. Authoress Shanette you did an amazing job!!

What do I think?! I think I’ve been in a chokehold for two days straight with this book 😮💨. Never had a book girlfriend before, but my girl Emerald just claimed that spot. She was everything to everyone—when she loved, she loved hard, always trying to protect herself and those she cared about from her chaotic world.
But here’s the thing… Emerald kept finding men who didn’t take no for an answer. They were there to love her, protect her, and push her right into her soft girl era—whether she liked it or not 👏🏾.
Yes, it ends on a cliffhanger, but it’s worth it. From her unhinged baes, to the support of her family and friends, this story gave strong character development, amazing pacing, and zero filler. Not once was I bored, and now I’m just sitting here impatiently waiting to see what’s next.

TELL SIR TO COME OUTSIDE
I really wanna say some things to sir but I’ma let it rock because I know karma is going to come and collect. I don’t care that It’s just a book he needs his behind beat so good and I would pay top dollar to see it happen.
I cannot believe what he did, when Jai told her that it was an unhealthy soul tie. I wanted to shake her until they registered. I need a therapy session after dealing with a man like sir!
Book two me now because that ending is sick! SICK 🤯

For this to be her first book, it was well written and definitely a page turner. I wanted Emerald and Julius to be one so badly because he was so passionate, patient and kind. He was everything she needed him to be. But the hating force around her took that happiness from them. I can’t wait for part two. I want her to find out what happened so badly. I really want to see how the relationship between emerald and her mother develops. I need not want but need Emerald to go to therapy. It’s a lot of hurt and trauma in her life she needs to deal with so very badly.

Emerald, Emerald, Emerald. I felt so bad for baby girl, but sis was RUTHLESS. She was an asset, the MAIN BOSS. There’s no way that you could not love her. She’s a happy mix of cold and calculated and funny and sweet! All the players in her life respected her, or they learned to real quick! And how could they not? Sis was a force! It was funny and engaging. This book was so good. For a debut novel, Shanette Shante' did her thing!

Keeps you entertained from start to finish. It’s rare to find a FMC that’s a strong lead in the story. Emerald is my first book girlfriend!

Not my cup of tea
No real plot. Character development was weak. Lots of killing but no real systematic plot. Nice try but, again, not my cup of tea.

This story was crazy and messy as hell. I absolutely loved reading about a FMC who is a boss and gets loved properly. I will say that cliff hanger was deadly so I will be tuning in for book two
