Karina Meadows’s stepdad has been single for a long time. Too long, as far as Karina is concerned. And since he doesn’t seem to be taking steps to find himself a girlfriend, Karina decides to take matters into her own hands. Fortunately, she knows just the right woman for him.
Amanda Sumin is done with seeing her mother go on bad date after bad date. Obviously the woman is completely hopeless when it comes finding a mate, and so Amanda decides to rescue her mother from singlehood by playing matchmaker for her. And as it turns out, she knows just the right man for her.
Great minds think alike, and in this case, two women who never met discover that they are both playing Cupid for the same people. The result? Now they’re about to become stepsisters!
In the final installment of Sabrina Kane’s Carlsbad Village Lesbian Romance Series, find out what happens when two single women discover one another all because they helped two other people fall in love.
Technically Not Sisters is funny, warm, steamy, and full of the usual terrific Sabrina Kane characters. And of course it has the trademark Sabrina HEA. What’s more, it is yet another one of her books that will make you want to pack up and head to sunny Carlsbad.
Technically not sisters is about women who aren’t sisters just like the title suggests although the book is aimed at men so this might be a disappointment to some. What it is about is a load of tosh clearly written by a man pretending to be a woman. One with little regard for females given the representation in this book and his others.
This author is a cis male in his 50s who pretended to be a lesbian (and somehow still does) and who has lied to readers for years. As it seems Sean (alias Sabrina) has definitely not learned a single thing and just keeps publishing books without acknowledging what he did. But yeah we learned in the dedication where he was wondering if it really f* mattered, that nothing will change. As long as he doesn’t fully acknowledges what he did and publishes books this way, it matters a great deal.
Last but not least I thought it’s funny that we are back at Sabrina Kane designed the cover after we had Sean doing the last one…
If someone is wondering what this is all about I highly recommend to read Jae’s blog.
I heard a lot of talk about the autor being a middle age guy. And honestly usualy I don't care who writes my steamy books as long as they are good. I like me a romance story with some sexy times, but the steamy scenes in this book read like someone who watched realy bad lesbian porn wrote them. They are not spicy and tender, they don't make me tingle all over and smile, they honesly make me cringe a little. There is an insane amount of fluinds leaking everywhere and seriously whoever thought that the word „vulva“ was sexy enought to use in a romance novel?!
And WE GET IT Vanessa is a goddess and everyone has a crush on her and she works at La Vida Mocha, but does it have to be mentioned in every single book? It gets sooooo repetitive.
I'm liked the first few books, but now I feel like: You know, when you like a certain food and you eat it all the time and one day you've just had enough and you can barely stomach it. Thats kind of how I feel.
And I'm sorry, because I can tell the autor (whoever that is) is passionate about writing and keeps producing more books. I guess I'm just not the target audience anymore.
Another disappointing cash grab by a disappointing man who writes women like the fetish he thinks of them as. The control, the humiliation, the hurt and anguish this waste of air has inflicted upon our marginalised community will never truly be revealed but honestly… he doesn’t care. HAVE THE DAY YOU DESERVE SEAN
