Graham's inheritance was more than just a secluded cabin on a shimmering lake left to him by his enigmatic grandfather; it was a legacy shrouded in mysteries. Built by his grandfather's own hands, the cabin was a sanctuary fiercely protected, a place where no one else dared to tread, and yet it held secrets that beckoned Graham with an irresistible allure.
As a child, Graham was the sole recipient of his grandfather's cherished invitations to the secluded cabin by the lake. Years later, Graham's recollections of those serene days have mostly faded, yet one vivid memory his grandfather seated in a weathered rocking chair on the cabin's rustic porch. The old man's face, lined with the wisdom of years, bore a tender, almost loving expression as he gazed out over the tranquil, mirror-like surface of the lake… as if something precious and extraordinary lay hidden beneath its mysterious depths, something that spoke to his soul.
Now, with his grandfather's passing, Graham finds himself drawn back to the cabin, his grandfather's words echoing in his "Look after my lake." What he discovers there is beyond his wildest dreams—a magnetic, otherworldly presence lurking beneath the water's surface, yearning for connection, for passion. As Graham succumbs to the call of this mysterious entity, he must navigate a burgeoning desire that defies the boundaries of his imagination. In the embrace of the lake's guardian, Graham discovers a love that transcends the stars, and a secret that binds him to the cabin and its otherworldly inhabitant forever.
This book explores grief in a beautifully moving way. I read the majority of the book with tears running down my face. Granted, I didn't read the synopsis first. Having read part 1, I eagerly jumped into part 2, unprepared for the emotional intensity of the story. Maybe I was just in a mood, what with it being the holidays and all, but I was honestly profoundly affected by this tale of love and loss and love renewed. Totally not what I expected from a monster romance, but I'm certainly not complaining.
This is so wonderfully descriptive. A reader might prefer reading in a comfortable position. 😉 If you enjoy a certain type of writing, this may be it. Lit erotica.😉
