Couldn’t connect to the characters as it was too much like Charlotte and Gary on geordie shore! Funny in parts but slow in other places.

When I read the blurb for this book it reminded me of a certain Geordie tv show. However this is more about behind the scenes. I felt that Charlotte has a unique perspective on this compared to other artists as she’s lived it. This book is about the life of a woman who joins a new reality tv show. The female main character reminds me a lot of Charlotte, and makes me wonder if some of the things that happen may be based on real events. There are plenty of ups and downs, partying and humour. I’d also say it could be quite empowering with its ending. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I’ve been following Charlotte since watching her reality tv show – Charlotte in Sunderland and when I saw that she released her first fiction novel, I knew I had to give it a read and what a fab read it was and there were so many aspects that I could feel were pulled from her own personal life and the people around her.

While it was bubbly and fun, it was also so much more than that and we see the main character Angelica learning so many life lessons in her reality tv journey and being in the constant limelight.

It touches on topics of online bullying, self-image, judgement, toxic people and the humiliation and exploitation that takes place behind the scenes in the life of reality tv.

Angelica felt oh so real as a character and I loved seeing her growth and seeing her come into her own, learning to trust her instincts and rid her world of the toxic humans who were simply just no good for her.

I adored her folks and the old folks of Oakdene, they were full of humour, support, wise words and the perfect role models.

I hope to see future fiction books from Charlotte, but in the meantime, I’m going to give one her non-fiction books a read next and also binge watch her latest reality tv series.

An easy pool side read which gave memories of watching Geordie shore as a teen. Spent the time trying to associate which character was who from the series and have my suspicions.

It was a good book with lots of funny moments. Reading this book reminded me of Geordie Shore, which had many similarities to North Stars! Although I did find the story quite slow in places, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and went through all of the emotions whilst reading it!

This book was honestly such a let down. It felt clunky in places and there was no imagination put into the storyline.
