This book was enjoyable from start to finish. It reminded me of a more modern (and spicier!) Anne of Green Gables. You get swept away to another time and also swept up in a great love story. I was always eager to start the next chapter. Well done!

Excellent book depicting a not uncommon family life in NL from the mid 1900’s until close to the turn of the century. Captivating storyline and wonderful character development with a bit of contemporary lifestyle weaved in. A great summer read!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I could not put it down. The way the author weaves the story of a girl and Newfoundland life and all that she endured really keeps the reader so engaged. Very well written and I highly recommend it.
