The mighty sky-fleets of the Kharadron Overlords sail forth to war and ever greater profits. These hardy duardin have learned to rely not on gods or magic for protection but on the wondrous innovations of aether-gold technology. Even as the horizons of the realms darken, soured by escalating corruption, these doughty skyfarers stay the course, overwhelming their foes with thunderous broadsides.

Games Workshop Group PLC (often abbreviated as GW) is a British miniature wargaming manufacturing company. Games Workshop is best known as developer and publisher of the tabletop wargames Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 and The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game.
This Battletome includes all the usual lore and rules for the Kharadron Overlords in the fourth edition of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.
The lore section of the book is as good as it always is with a nice (if brief in places) overview of the faction’s history, society, technology, and the units usable in the game. There are some in-universe boxouts in the form of letters from Hurgun Bardocksson to Hanniver Toll that give some nice insight into the information covered, as well as the usual short fiction boxouts that I found particularly entertaining.
The model photography is of the usual Games Workshop quality with some of the enhanced phots (such as the picture of an Ironclad and a Frigate above the clouds) being quite good, although, as usual, the lack of alternative model poses can make things a little repetitive (although the inclusion of one converted Admiral model was nice to see). Thankfully, there are some models in the colours of Barak-Zilfin alongside the default Barak-Nar colour scheme but more variety would always be appreciated. The artwork is also as good as always and I particularly like the technical drawing of the prototype Nullsuit.
The main Kharadron Overlords rules are pretty standard for this edition of the Age of Sigmar game. The Spearhead force included in the book looks pretty good with some nice lore that fits the models included quite well. The Path to Glory Anvil of Apotheosis rules, meanwhile, are a little disappointing as they don’t include options to give the custom character a Dirigible Suit, although it does allow players to also upgrade Flagships which is appropriate. The Path ability trees are also pretty par for the course for this addition but rather than just getting Hero and non-Hero trees as most other factions do, there is also one specifically for Skyvessels due to them playing such an important role in the Kharadron’s forces. Both of the Armies of Renown seem good with the Pioneer Outpost being designed around the Zontari Endrin Dock Faction Terrain while The Magnate’s Crew is Brokk Grungsson’s personal fleet. While both of these seem to be quite nicely tied to the lore they could always use an actual lore entry to accompany them as with the Spearhead force and Regiments of Renown.
