Til Dust Do Us Part

Every story has a villain. But would you know if the murderer was someone close to you?

After the death of her mother, fire witch Anna Leighis decides to finally take up her duty as head of the Leighis becoming the healer of Dracht. Believing the town is now safe, she arrives at her family’s Chateau, which had remained abandoned for the past forty years. Her late Aunt Astrid, whom she had never met, was the last member to reside there until she was forced to run for her life during the Dracht her hometown’s persecution of Witches.

When dead bodies begin turning up without their eyeballs, Anna learns that Dracht is not the haven she thought it was. Thrust into aiding the investigation by the handsome Constable Sheehan, she is introduced to the Triumvirate – the magical leadership trio of the town, including their youngest warlock, Killian. Feeling pulled to both men while searching for answers about her Aunt, whose death is too mysterious for her liking, she agrees to work with them to uncover the killer…as long as they don’t find her first.

In this magical game of cat and mouse, prophecies, feelings, and revelations blur the lines between right and wrong. Because in a world of witches, warlocks, and murder, perspective is everything—and sometimes, the most terrifying discoveries are not about others, but are about ourselves.

A wickedly twisty spicy fantasy romance mixed with spellbinding mystery, where nothing is black and white…except maybe the magic.

This book was PERFECT for witchy szn!!!!

It had all the elements for a fall read: mysterious, cozy, (spicy), and so much fun.

Til Dust Do Us Part centers around a woman named Anna who comes to the town where her aunt, who had gone missing, had lived as a powerful witch. Upon her arrival, people around the town start getting killed, so she—along with the two leading men of the novel, one a constable and the other a powerful warlock both attracted to Anna—search for the murderer.

I kept trying to predict the killer, and I was 100% NOT expecting that reveal. I was so sure of who I suspected!!! (I was partly not wayyy off, but no spoilers!!) But I think this plot twist will throw so many for a loop!

Spice level was also 🌶️🌶️🌶️

And the love triangle 😩 I couldn’t decide who was better for her….jk I’m a Killian Stan through and through! But I like the way it was wrapped up for us in the end!!

Thank you to the author for this ARC!!! And for starting off my witchy reads with a bang ✨

This is Catie O'Neill like we haven't seen before. Darker and more intense than her previous novels, Til Dust Do Us Part gives us a lush witchy murder mystery that draws you in and doesn't let go. Whatever you think is going to happen, be prepared to be wrong (in only the best possible way). Trust me, you are not going to want to miss this one!

Anna is a young witch with a powerful affinity for fire. Forty years after her aunt vanished rather suddenly from the town of Dracht, she has come to fill the town's need for a healer and figure out what happened to the missing Agnes. However, it isn't long before fellow magic wielders start turning up dead. Now Anna, with the help of the handsome (but all too human) town constable Michael and the sexy, somewhat mysterious warlock Killian, must figure out who is targeting the warlocks of Dracht and why. Part mystery, part romance - Til Dust Do Us Part is definitely one of the most engrossing books I've read this year.

What I enjoyed most is how completely wrong I was about the direction this story was going. I saw the foreshadowing. I picked up on small details about certain characters. I didn't fully trust any of them. THE STRANGLED NOISE I MADE. Hello, red herrings! Honestly, though, I love a book that can take me so fully by surprise.

There is so much I want to say, and so much I can't in fear of giving something away. What I am going to say is: Anna is a strong, badass woman. I loved her character from the start. Between Killian and Michael, if I had to choose one of them, most of the story I was more so team Killian. (Look, I'm always going to pick the dark-haired sexy magic user. I have a type.) I liked the way the ending came together, though, because that was actually the ending I wanted from the start.

Thank you, Catie, for the eARC! I cannot wait until the next book in the trilogy! I've already preordered it.

Til Dust Do Us Part by Catie O’Niell is quite different from her previous books — darker, with a bit more spice (but not too much!). This witchy murder mystery had me hooked from the very beginning, and honestly, I didn’t want to put it down. I never once guessed what was going to happen, which I absolutely loved.

Love and Other Alien Concepts used to be my favourite, but this book has completely taken the top spot for me — and now I cannot wait for book 2 in this series!

There’s so much I want to say about this book, but at the same time, I really don’t want to give anything away. What I can safely say is that I absolutely loved Anna — she’s strong, badass, and had me rooting for her right from the start.

Now then... am I Team Michael or Team Killian? Honestly, I kept changing my mind so much throughout the book that I think I’ll just be Team Both!

I also love how Catie O’Niell continues to weave in her signature food references — it’s a small detail, but one that adds so much charm.

The ending was perfect for me — exactly what I was hoping for — while still leaving me wondering what’s going to happen next in Book 2.

Huge thanks for the eARC! The book is out on my birthday, so I’ll definitely be gifting myself a physical copy 😃

I really enjoyed this! There is a VERY good twist that I absolutely did not see coming.

I really liked that it’s like a fantasy mystery with romance. That’s a fun combo.

The world and characters were all very good. It kind of annoyed me initially that everyone seems to have a really formal way of speaking but I know that’s a silly personal preference and I got over it.

There is a love triangle and it’s extremely well done. This book also has what is probably my least favorite trope (everyone’s least favorite trope!!!!!!) and it is so well done it didn’t even bother me at all. (It’s 🤰🏻😲.)

🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
I always hope the love triangle becomes a threesome 😏

Thriller meets Romantasy in this opener of the new Hearts Bound by Dust series by Catie O'Neill. While it's definitely perfectly matched with spooky season, don't let that fool you. Reading it at Christmas-time was just as fun. Perfect for readers who love will they/won't they dynamics, fiery (no, literally) FMCs, multi-pov, and twists and turns that never stop, Til Dust is easy to sync into, and I can't wait to see where the series goes next.

5/5 recommend to anyone who likes books that end 1000 miles from where they thought they were going and are happy to enjoy the ride.

I thought nothing would topple Love & Other Alien Concepts as my favorite Catie O'Neill book, but Til Dust Do Us Part did it! A witchy murder mystery with plenty of romance, this book kept me entertained and guessing from start to finish. I did not predict a single twist and I'm still unsure of which team I should pick, but the story was so enjoyable. I can't wait for the second book in the series!

A spellbinding blend of fantasy, mystery, and romance that keeps you guessing until the end. Anna Leighs is a compelling heroine, and the layered secrets of Dracht create an atmosphere thick with tension and intrigue. With sharp twists, complex characters, and a deliciously dark edge, this story proves that in a world of magic and murder, nothing and no one is ever quite what they seem.

I loved this book! I fell into the whole magical world she created and quickly ordered the other two. I told Catie that I could see it being a fun movie series. She’s open to it, I believe, if anyone knows someone?

That was a wild ride full of emotion, magic, mystery and mayhem. Anna has returned to Dracht to find out what happened to her Aunt Astrid. Instead she finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery. Anna also ends up in a bit of a situation as two men Michael and Killian have shown interest in her and she in them. No spoilers from me so if you want to know what happens you will need to read Til Dust Do Us Part. I almost forgot, the murderer drops in occasionally to let us know why they are killing these people. Thank you for my arc.
