The dropping temperatures herald the coming of the holidays in northern Illinois. There are trees to be trimmed and packages to be wrapped. Mia is taking it easy while the PEEPs struggle with an infestation of poltergeists. Meanwhile, Big Bear Lake braces for the approach of the first winter storm. Two feet of snow is expected. Murphy has cut enough wood for four winters so there is little worry about the approaching storm.
But the storm that is approaching is one no one can prepare for. It has little to do with snowflakes, but the fast accumulation of them isn't helping. This holiday the “unexpected visitor” won’t be leaving the Martin household with presents under the tree, but taking something back with him, something or someone very valuable.
Join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs as they face undefeatable odds in “The Siege,” the 13th novel of the “Haunted Series.”
My idea of a great vacation is a porch swing, view of the water and a pile of books to read. Once upon a time… I wonder if those words spoken to, or read for the first time, were the catalyst for the spark that lit the fire within us. To write and tell a story the way each of us does is a gift and a responsibility. We sometimes toil hours with an idea, or even just one sentence, not knowing if anyone beyond us will ever read our words. We do it for love. The love of bringing to light the world that resides inside our heads. It does not matter if we have a happy ending or a soulful gasp. What matters is that we put these thoughts on paper. So keep writing my friends. Keep taking us to the secret corners of your mind. Be brave. Tempt fate and above all enjoy.
Phew! Here we are again! I had my team working harder than Santa's elves to bring the 13th full length novel "The Siege" to you. I wanted it out before Christmas time, so it would be available to calm frazzled nerves, accompanying the beverage of your choice and the sampling of all those marvelous homemade treats. As I write this I am brushing away cookie crumbs on my keyboard. I really must talk to Murphy (cough cough) about eating at my desk.
I'm really excited about this book. For more information check out alexieaaron.com.
When is another not an another? When it's an Other!
When an Other comes to enslave Mia to an unknown entity who can save her? It takes help from all their friends. A snow storm isolates the Martin's farm just as an Other and his 3 ghostly henchmen come to take Mia's soul. It seems as though sensetives that help good and evil souls can be seen as fair game for a entity known as an Other. If that Other follows all of the protocols he as every right to sell her soul to whoever will pay the highest price. Unless they can cause him to leave of his own free will Mia will have to go with him. Then as they start calling all their friends for help, it seems that Beverly has dealt with this Other before and beat him, but can she get there before it's to late. Well it seems Gerald knows a guy that knows a guy that knows a guy ect.ect. will Mia and her son be saved? Read this the thirteenth book of the exciting Haunted Series. Excellent writing, characters that are well developed, believable and sympathetic and a storyline that is so interesting that you will be buying the next book before you finish the one you're reading now reading. Highly recommended
Another wonderful adventure on the world of Mia, Ted, and Peeps. I don't know how Alexie does it but each book gets more immensely interesting. When you read these books you are on an emotional roller coaster ride that leaves you wanting more. I cannot get enough of Mia and family, friends, and all.
This was another fantastic addition to the series!
Love this series! Especially Murphy! He's the best ghost ever! If he was to be dropped from the series I think that would be it for me. This book had a great storyline! I enjoyed the characters. Loved the baby's name, too!😃
amazing...a supernatural trio try to enslave Mia...a confederate ghost or three or four, an ancient betrayal and murder for money...a premature birth, a gathering of friends ride, fly, walk ti Mia 's rescue. great story.
I noticed in book 12 that Alexie Aaron's writing style had become much more cohesive and the 13th book, The Siege, is even better. All of the books in this series have showcased Aaron's talent with character building. The main characters are wonderful but the supporting cast is just as fully realized, which is something I don't see enough in most mystery series. Juggling that many characters must be a huge amount of work, so bravo to the author for handling it do deftly while also making me wish I knew most of them in real life. Add the recent tighter plotting and I can safely say that this is a series that has become even better as it progresses. I hope there will be a 14th book :-)
You can never miss with Alexie Aaron's Haunted series. She always manages to introduce us to a new kind of spirit. In this book the Other leaves you wondering about his percentage of "deadness". His name is Richard Chapman and he is so easily flabbergasted that I found myself laughing out loud at his indignation! Mia and Beverley are so very good at doing that
Alexie did it again. I love this group of P.E.E.Ps so much, and I have gotten to know them so well through these amazing books, that they feel like family!!! I can't wait for the next one!!
Advid reader, always several favorites but Alexie Aaron has skyrocketed to the top ! LOVE all the characters,Mia Ted & Murphy the ghost. So exciting and funny can't wait for more!!! Thanks!
If I could give this book a 10 I would. It amazes me how descriptive the story is. You laugh you cry you feel their fear and anxiety. Bravo to the author for allowing the reader to feel like part of this paranormal group.
