Welcome to Blackthorn Valley, the abandoned and dilapidated town my best friends and I just purchased!
My supernatural girl friends and I have our hands full fixing up various parts of the town and dealing with a ghost in our new house.
It’s a tough job, even for a powerful witch like me, and there’s absolutely no time for anything else, especially not a hot werewolf I accidentally summoned from across the country.
But I’m going to have to make time, cause Guy is like something out of my hottest fantasies.
Everything is great, until we discover that orcs are trying to take over the town!
Will I be able to balance all this chaos and not lose my head, or my new mate?
Bewitched on Werewolf Way is the first book in the Blackthorn Valley Series. Each book can be read as a standalone. This cozy paranormal MF romance features fated mates, forced proximity, a hyper-independent witch, a protective alpha shifter, and found family. Intended for readers 18+
E.G. Verot spends her days in the world of education but spends her nights reading, writing, and loving books of all flavors and spices. She has a TBR list longer than she cares to admit. She has been longing to share the characters from her daydreams with you for many years. She lives in the Northeast and looks forward to the winter weather all year. When she is not reading, she can be found spending time with her pets, crocheting, and enjoying her life with loved ones.
A sweet and steamy romance with cozy vibes in the cutest small town full of charming monsters!
A group of non-human women friends set out to restore an abandoned town into a home for monsters, and as the new residents arrive, adventure, magic, and love ensue. There are some mysteries in the town to be discovered, too.
I fell in love with the girls from the start. The found family trope is done so well, and their banter is hilarious! Each has a distinct personality and makes me want us to be best friends.
The MMC and his pack are wonderful, too! A cinnamon roll who is ready to woo you until you fall madly in love with him? Yes, please! Only that I fell for him from the start ;) The FMC is trying to resist, so there is delicious pining involved. The schmexy scenes are fan-worthy!
And the town? I have to mention it as well, because it's so well presented that it lives rent-free in my head now, and I'm looking for ways to move there xD
A fantastic start to a series of standalones that I'll be gobbling up as soon as they are released!
Grateful to the author for giving me an advance copy, above is my honest review <3
It had potential to be good... but it lost all sense of timing and the last 2 chapters were full of juvenile conversations and mistakes on the authors part of wrong words (that's more an editing issue). The love confession felt like something a teenager would say not a 30yr old. Also the "My mate" bit got old real quick when it was all Guy would say. The characters had more de-evaluation rather than growth. It was just a hot mess. The battle was rushed and came out of nowhere. The "steamy" parts were not steamy at all. I would personally be offended if my partner started something then moved us to the shower cause I wasn't "wet enough". The relationship had no traction and she was against it till the town was better established, then all of a sudden she's all in. Not to mention the whole is he a werewolf or a wolf shifter? They are different. The author bounced between the two, which was honestly frustrating.
Thank you so much book sirens for a free arc of this book!! All opinions shared are my own.
This was a really cute paranormal romance that was set in the beginnings of a town that's a safe haven for monsters. This did have a lot of cosy vibes and this is the perfect season for reading. If you're new to paranormal romance, then this will be a good entry point for you to get a feel for what it's like.
My biggest problem was that it did feel quite rushed from the get go with Guy arriving and then knowing who his mate was and instantly wanting her and then skirting around being mates. I just wish it had been dragged out a little because I love the suspense. However
I definitely had fun though and cannot wait to read more of the authors work because we definitely have the set up for more books in this world.
Little does she know she and I are already a "we"--a partnership, two souls linked together. Never again will either of us need to face anything alone.
3.75 stars
This was a sweet and cozy little taster of a paranormal romance. Guy was such a sweetheart; from the moment he met Belle, he became obsessed with his mate and simply wanted to protect her and the town. Belle was a little short-sighted in her determination to build a safe haven for monsters, but her mate and friends were there to keep her on track. Even though the danger and steam were short-lived, I still enjoyed this short story and look forward to more🖤
What a cute, quick read! With dual POVs this slow-burn was easy to dive into quickly. Four friends trying to create a magical town for monsters find themselves teaming up with werewolves to bring life into the town and to protect it. If you love small town romances (with a twist!), ghostly encounters, and just the right amount of spice then this book is for you!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Belle and her witchy friends just moved to the dilapidated town of "Blackthorn Valley", determined to make it a safe place for monsters. Guy has all but given up on finding his mate. He's in his 40s and happy with his pack and their construction company. When a powerful pull suddenly makes him run for days in and out of his wolf form, he's pretty pissed off, at first. But that only lasts until he lays eyes on.....her.
Eeeek!! This is such a fun story. Love me some b@d🍑 women, who accept help even if they don't think it's needed. A town development, an entire pack of wolf shifters, four amazing women, a meddling ghost, a mysterious library and a delicious slow burn, rounded up with some action, makes "Bewitched on Werewolf Way" the perfect cozy, witchy read for Halloween season. Buckle up and let's head to Blackthorn Valley asap!!
omg guys I just love this so much. When E.G. Verot messaged me asking if I thought her writing her first paranormal romance was a good idea I about LOST it. I was so unbelievably excited as I've read all her books and they've always been PHENOMENAL. This was no different. I was a beta reader originally but I wanted to go back for more so I became an ARC reader as well! Best choice I've ever made. Belle Bosquet, a witch, and her friends, Shelley, a Frankenstein-like monster, Cordelia, a demon siren mix, and Mindy, our sweet human exception, have just purchased an entire town and are determined to make a safe place for any paranormals to live. They are determined to do this all alone but when Belle accidentally summons a werewolf, Guy Adams, who happens to be her mate and who also happens to be the alpha of a 20-wolf pack of unmated construction workers she has more help than she can handle. With her determination to build this town up and protect it, she swears off any romance with Guy but as the weeks pass they can't seem to stay away from each other. Will she be able to keep this town afloat and risk losing her mate or can she have her cake and eat it too? Omg I just loved this so much. When Guy first gets that pull and follows it I melt every time. That is true devotion. This man, werewolf, loves Belle so so much. They are just so good together. What I really think stands out about this though is the community and found family. The founders have such a good bond and even when 20 newcomers appear they all quickly accepted each other and were determined to make this town functional. It's so inspiring and heartwarming. Guy was such a cocky bastard and he had a right to be. He's a complete hunk. Absolutely scrumptious. And Belle is such a queen. She is like the definition of a badass and I would do anything for her. Such a natural leader. I just loved everything about this. I feel so at home🥹side notes are we stay team Jacob, I love you Ghost, and I'm sorry I was scared of you at first, Cordelia and these pack members are literally Tanya and Pepper from Mamma Mia, I'm a Guy and Aiden shipper, and I'm not ashamed, very curious about this cursed library, that light trick had me SWOONING. If a man could, he would. Also guy sleeping outside her window is true devotion and I accept no less, Atlas the sexiest gargoyle alive and that roar was iconic, and this book makes me hungry asf. This was so good. I couldn't ask for any better. E.G. Verot blew it out of the park.

Tropes: Cozy Small Town Paranormal Romance, Fated Mates, Forced Proximity, Found Family, Touch Her And Die, He Falls First, Cinnamon Roll MMC, No Third-Act Breakup
I seriously don’t think you can get any cozier than this cozy small town paranormal romance with delicious fated mates and found family. I mean, come on! This book was just what the doctor ordered. I’m craving that cozy fall romance read right now.
Belle is our FMC. She’s hyper independent, loyal, smart, and an extremely powerful witch. I loved her. She and her friends are so close, and I loved getting little snippets about each of them. Guy is our werewolf cinnamon roll who is honestly only green flags. This man is immediately smitten with Belle—not just because she is his mate, but also because she’s a badass in her own right and can do no wrong in his eyes. Guy brings his pack to town, and they start construction right away.
There is some tension with a few neighboring monsters, but that is easily dealt with. Almost too easily? That might be my one gripe with the book—it didn’t feel totally finished. And we, of course, have yet to find out who this ghost is! That was also a fun part of the book. This ghost expects these women to be scared, but they are super welcoming and want the ghost to show themselves and join in their fun. I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book!
Overall, this was a quick but fun read that hit the spot for a cozy small town fall paranormal romance. Definitely recommend!
I was given this book by booksirens as an Arc and freely give my review.
This book is expected to be published on October 1, 2025!!
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
☑️ small town paranormal monster love story ☑️ fated mates ☑️ life long friendships ☑️ found family ☑️ new town ☑️ mystery ghost
I absolutely LOVED this story. I have read many stories about monster towns but never one that centres around the creation of one, love that! The story has many different relationships within it. The first is of 4 best friends who are all different in nature ( 3 monsters annd 1 human) and abilities but who fiercely love and support teach other and are all committed to building up the abandoned town the bought together. The second relationship is that of Belle (witch) and Guy (werewolf). Guy is drawn to the town by accident by Belle and the moment he sees her he knows they are mates, for belle it takes a bit longer. Their love story builds throughout and in such a wonderful way that you can’t help fall in love with them while the characters are falling in love. The third relationship aspect of the story is the larger found family one, the 4 founders of the town and the werewolves that are the first new residents whom all work together to start building the town and of course help defend it against other monsters. Bonus to the story is a mystery ghost and a mysterious impenetrable library that seems to have secrets it doesn’t want revealed.
This book gives off all the feels; love, friendship, magic, determination and mystery. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for book 2.
4.5⭐ for Belle, Guy, and the new residents of Blackthorn Valley. I am SO excited for the rest of this series.
A witch, a half demon/half siren, a construct, and a human have been best friends since childhood and in their 30s they decide to all pitch in to buy an abandoned town with the hope and dream of turning it into a thriving monster community. Belle and her friends have such high hopes for everything this place can be and they immediately get to work to bring it back. Planting Blackthorn trees around the perimeter, using their magic to turn the lights on, and planning the future of the town little by little.
Guy is the alpha of his unconventional pack, filled with wolves that haven't met their mates yet. Guy owns a construction company and with his boys as the crew they do really well for themselves, taking jobs all over the country. Randomly one day Guy gets the urge to start running and after 10 long days he stumbles his way into Blackthorn Valley. After getting the green light from the founders to stay through the full moon Guy catches the witch Belle's scent in the air and the 38 year old alpha knows she's his mate. Belle is all business and focused on her dreams for the town. Guy knows he can help her achieve her dreams AND win her heart, if she'll let him. "I don't need any distractions, especially not this eye candy standing in front of me, looking like he wants to eat me. Now that I think about it, I probably wouldn't mind if he did."
I will forever and always be a sucker for fated mates, especially when there's little to no resistance on the concept/pull. Sometimes, when you know it's right you know it's right 😌
Bewitched on Werewolf Way is my first time reading the Monster Romance Genre, and I absolutely loved it! I love the cozy, fun, small town, fall vibes this book brought. It was such an easy, short read that I couldn’t put it down!
I absolutely loved the little details that E.G. Verot put into this one! The 4 friend group that we are introduced in this one are seriously the most fun and adorable friend group I have ever read about before! These 4 ladies are all so different in their personalities that it’s hard to not love them all!
In Bewitched On Werewolf Way, we follow our female main character, Belle, a smart, determined, powerful witch who wants nothing else but to get her and her friends dreams come true by building a whole town where all monsters are welcomed. She will do anything to get this accomplished. But when Guy shows up out of the blue, her attention becomes focused not just on the town, but also on Guy. Will flames start to burn, or will Belle ignore that pull toward Guy and walk away, focusing only on building the town and the threats just outside?
The Little Town definitely gave me Halloween Town Vibes!!
Not only did E.G. Verot make me completely obsessed over Belle and Guy but I absolutely fell in love with the other characters! Especially the Mystery Ghost???!!! Who could that be? I absolutely loved the little cliffhanger at the end!! I seriously can’t wait to read the next book!
If you are looking for a Fall, Small Town, Lighthearted, Cozy Monster Romance I definitely recommend this one!
The start of the Blackthorn Valley series had me under a spell! Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Bewitched on Werewolf Way introduces us to 4 lifelong best friends who purchase an abandoned town in hopes to create a monster haven for themselves and others. In this world, monsters hide who they are, but towns like Blackthorn Valley exist so the monster community can be themselves. I adored all 4 women and their shy house ghost, but definitely fell in love with the emerald-skinned witch & FMC, Belle. Strong female characters in their 30s are a breath of fresh air in the book world. Once the shifters arrived, I found myself laughing along with the group, but also warmed by their care & devotion to the newly-formed town. The author includes small details like maps & flyers, along with larger details about the town and it’s residents that leaves you feeling like you are in the town yourself. (Seriously, can I move there!?) I find myself eagerly awaiting the next installment to have some questions about the town & the resident ghost answered. This was an adorably cozy paranormal romance that’s a perfect read for autumn.

Bewitched on Werewolf Way was such a fun, cozy start to the Blackthorn Valley series! I loved the premise of four best friends buying an abandoned town and turning it into a safe haven for monsters! If you’re in the mood for a cozy paranormal romance with fated mates, found family, and autumn small-town charm, this one is a perfect fall pick. I can't wait to read the stories of the rest of the founders!
Belle, our witchy heroine, is hyper-independent and determined to make the town succeed, but accidentally summoning Guy (a cinnamon roll werewolf with his pack in tow) throws her carefully laid plans off balance. Their fated-mates connection is obvious from the start. Guy’s steady devotion balanced Belle’s stubborn streak in a really sweet way.
The found family element was one of my favorite parts. Belle and her friends are hilarious and loyal, and the group dynamic made me want to move into Blackthorn Valley myself. Add in a grumpy ghost, hints of town secrets, and some light external conflict (hello, orcs), and the world feels like it’s brimming with possibilities.
Thank you to BookSirens and the author for a copy of this book.
Four girlfriends (3 of them paranormal) pool their resources and buy an empty town. They plan to spruce it up and market it to monsters and magical folk.
Things happen, as construction projects do, and a werewolf is drawn to this town. He happens to own a construction company, and is single. Once he gets his bearings, he invites the rest of the pack. The town instantly has a bunch of residents fixing it up, who happen to do construction.
This is a fun first book in this series. There's friendship, found family, fated mates, a ghost, a very formal gargoyle, and some open-ended storylines that will make up the next books, I'm guessing.
A couple of the side plots just got tedious to me (the library, the orcs) but maybe these are setting us up for the next book?
I received an ARC and am leaving this review voluntarily :)
A very cute and cozy paranormal romance. Belle and her friends have bought an abandoned town and plan to fix it up to make a monster-only community. Guy senses Belle's magic and is drawn to the town, with his pack not far behind. All the characters are sweethearts, there's a sassy ghost, and a very stubborn library.
The romance in this book was just fine, but what really stood out was the friendship with Mindy. I love seeing them all support their human friend and never treat her differently. Belle remembering to recharge Mindy's magic wand was so sweet and it was beautiful to see such a positive female friendship. I didn't really care much about the werewolves because they came across pretty flat, but Belle, Mindy, Cordelia, and Shelley's interactions made the story really enjoyable.
Thank you to BookSirens and E.G. Verot for the free.
From start to finish I was HOOKED on this story. Although the book has romance I really felt the girl power in this book. All the founders are so unique and reading I got the impression the friendship between the founders is going to continue to be an important part of the development of Blackthorn Valley. Belle gives such an older sister vibe which as an older sister myself I can appreciate. Guy is that guy if you know what I mean. He had such great balance in his personality not too overbearing but not to relax plus he is so considerate to Belle. I can’t wait to read this series further. I have so many unanswered questions with the other characters that I need to know asap. My only complaint is that I have to wait for the next book.

This story is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy, small town, fated mates, contemporary fantasy romance between male wolf shifter builder, Guy, and female witch town co-founder, Belle. I enjoyed Belle’s determination and focus and appreciated that she wasn’t going to let a pretty face distract her. I enjoyed Guy’s commitment to his fated mate when he found her combined with his concern for ensuring her choice and free will. I enjoyed the building relationship and steamy moments. I enjoyed Belle’s friends and town co-founders as well as Guy’s pack/fellow builders. I enjoyed the strong non-romance plot and the set up for many future stories. This is the first story I’ve read from this author and I’m looking forward to more.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is it voluntary honest review.
This book is the definition cozy small-town paranormal romance. I am a sucker for a well written werewolf romance and this book exceeds expectations! Not only does it have the fated mates romance but it sets the rest of the series up for a plethora of other monsters in the newly built town. Guy(MMC) is the perfect mixture of protective and respectful. Belle(FMC) is so lucky to have a fated mate like him, every woman wants someone like Guy. Each character of the four founders is complex and I am so excited to see who the rest of them end up with. I cannot wait for the next book in the series! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’ve always loved small-town romances, so the fresh twist on this classic trope immediately drew me into the story. I adored how quickly Guy became smitten once he realized Belle was his mate, while Belle worked so hard to resist him, determined to stay focused on building up Blackthorn Valley.
That said, the ghost completely stole the show for me. I loved how opinionated they were, and how naturally Belle, Cordelia, Shelley, and Mindy accepted their presence, even making room to accommodate them.
I can’t wait to continue with the rest of the series. It’s cozy, layered, and full of charm, and I’m excited to see how everything unfolds!
Bewitched on Werewolf Way is a cute whimsical adventure that blends supernatural suspense with lighthearted fun. I loved these characters and how I wish I could join them for a girls night with wine and romcom movies! The characters are quirky and lovable, the plot moves quickly, and it balances fantasy with themes of courage and friendship. I would love for an artist to create an image of the four friends!
I also secretly want glitter burgundy highlights like Cordelia and lilac skin like Shelley! - Iris

Thank you, E. G., for providing me with an advance copy of Bewitched on Werewolf Way 💚💜 I got this book last minute but I couldn't help myself because witches and werewolves? In October? Yes PLEASE.
genre: Cozy Paranormal Romance spice: 🌶️🌶️
tropes: *Independent Witch FMC *Over-protective Alpha Werewolf MMC *MC's in their 30s & 40s *Budding Monster Town *Fated Mates *Monster Besties & a Wolf Pack
🏍️my thoughts: Oh. My. Moonlight. I grew up with Halloween as my favorite holiday, fueled by cozy magic like Twitches and Halloweentown. This book rekindles that spark—and then adds a spicier twist that made me feel like I’d stumbled into a witch’s circle under a full moon. It’s the perfect blend of childhood nostalgia and grown-up allure, with a witchy heroine and an overprotective werewolf whose chemistry made the pages practically smolder. I can’t wait to see what enchantments and secrets E.G. has in store for the rest of Blackthorn Valley.
I didn't have any icks for this book - my only thing that I would have suggested be done differently is a more longer term courtship of Belle and Guy. I liked him helping out with the town and kind of wish that it had dragged out a bit longer, but at the same time I love the book the way it is as well!
This book is perfect for my fellow guys and ghouls who want a short Halloween-themed romance read!
This was such a cozy paranormal romance and I liked it a lot!! It’s the kind of book where you get your comfy blanket, hot tea or hot chocolate, and curl up on your favorite spot on the couch or around the house and binge read this book. Perfect for fall season!
I loved that it was an easy read, with a good plot added. Belle and Guy were such a cute match and having both points of views was really nice.
If you like small town, fated mates, paranormal romance with some spice in it, I would definitely read this!!
I’m a huge shifter romance fan, and I really enjoyed this one’s eloquent, richly descriptive style, which makes it feel unique.
The story follows Belle and her friends as they rebuild an abandoned town to create a safe space for monsters, until her fated mate shows up. I really liked Guy and the way he patiently waited for Belle to realize they were destined to be together. He does everything he can to stay close and build their connection.
Of course, that all goes out the window once she sees him naked, but honestly, who can blame a girl?
👀Tropes: Super cozy dual POV paranormal romance with fated mates, slow burn, he falls first, and found family.
☠️CW: Sexual Content, mention of violence
📚Read Method: Kindle eBook
✨My Thoughts: GUY! Let me tell you about Guy! Protective, responsive, caring, and honors independence, and gives the BEST first dates. And Belle! I want to BE Belle. Strong minded, extremely independent, magically intelligent, and fiercely loyal to her friends and family. The town, library, ghost 👻, and newcomers are intriguing, and I can’t wait to read more from Blackthorn Valley!
💖Quotes: "Belle, every day with you keeps getting better than the last."
Book 1 Blackthorn Valley story of Guy and Bella. I have to say as a first story and a new author to me this one had me hooked and wanting more. This story had me cracking up as these two meet and dance around being mates. I couldn’t stop reading this story and ate it up. Need the next one quick.
I received an advance review copy for free from booksiren, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Cute and cozy small town romance with lots of found family vibes and swoony monsters! Love that we have femme monsters, too. I'm so jealous of the ladies. Buying a whole town to make into our own cozy utopia is a dream of me and my friends. I think my favorite was the shy ghost. 😆 But that cliffhanger...I NEED TO KNOW.
Fun and Cozy read to kick off October. I don’t typically read paranormal romance, but this was easy to slip into. Not too heavy on lore or rules for their magic. The friendship among the women was fun. This slow burn romance was enjoyable and led to some steamy scenes. The ghost mystery has me hooked and I look forward to the next book.
2.5⭐️ This series has an interesting and unique story concept, a sweet HEA, and I look forward to future books. The writing needs improvement, the female characters are a bit immature, acting like they’re in their 20s, not their 30s, and the “spicy” scenes are terrible (0.5🌶️out of 5🌶️). Aside from those flaws, there’s some potential for a good series here.
