It still didn’t help. Now, her stories are just as fantastical, just as intricate, but (hopefully) a lot easier to follow.
As a baby, Abigail was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the retinas. After having one eye removed and the other severely damaged, she quickly realized books were her key to unlocking a world that was no longer designed for her. Now, she writes stories of her own, featuring a healthy dose of magic, romance, and wounded dreamers.
You can find her in Connecticut, where she’s probably hoarding nail polish, adopting far too many plants, and becoming more emotionally attached to the side characters than protagonists of whatever book she’s reading.

Kingdom of Dreams and Decay by Abigail Ehrhardt is an exciting fantasy finale filled with magic, danger, political tension, and difficult choices. I enjoyed following Analia as she faces the enormous responsibility of the power she has inherited while being trapped in the Moon Castle and trying to recover the shard from the enemy queen. What I especially liked was the way the story balances the larger conflict between kingdoms with Analia’s personal struggles. Her decisions come with serious consequences, and the uncertainty surrounding her alliances keeps the story tense. The encrypted scroll, growing threat of war, and questions surrounding her inheritance add plenty of mystery and intrigue. The story also does a good job bringing together themes of loyalty, sacrifice, love, power, and the cost of protecting what matters most. I enjoyed the sense that every choice could change the fate of the kingdoms, while Analia is also fighting to understand who she is becoming. Overall, Kingdom of Dreams and Decay is an engaging fantasy conclusion with plenty of suspense, emotional stakes, and moments of danger for readers who enjoy stories of magic, kingdoms, and complicated alliances.

This series continues to drag me in. Being the longest book in the series so far, and with the 2nd book ending with such a cliff hanger, I definitely had high expectations going into this story. Those expectations were more than exceeded. It’s hard to describe without spoilers, but what I can say is every part of this book was worth the wait. Although this book is split into 4 parts, to me it felt more like 2 halves of a story. The first half, giving me answers to many questions I had following the 2nd book, as well as building up for the continuation of action. The second half reminded me how thrilling this series has been, and continuously had me reading longer than I was planning to. I’m just glad this one ends at an actual stopping point instead of a cliff hanger, and I cannot wait for the 4th book to come out

What can I say about this huge book?! Except wow!
Abigail, you just keep going above and beyond!
This book is complex, but for good reason, we see many topics that can be hard to talk about (add!ction for one).
We see some beautiful character development for all characters involved, even those who are unknowingly in the closet.
The plot just keeps getting better, to be completely honest! I just couldn't put this one down! Not that I'm surprised, just saying! 🤣

@abigailehrhardt.author could write my local phone book and you’d be able to catch me flipping pages and kicking my feet like my life depended on it. I am so enamored with her characters and now in book three, they feel like my close, personal friends. The amount of growth everyone goes through in this book was insane; between the trauma, addiction and separation, no one comes out unscathed but the glow ups will be immaculate.

Abigail proved it again that she delights in feasting on big themes and in big ideas! A Kingdom Of Dream And Decay is my favourite installment in the once seven kingdoms series. This book was descriptive, exciting immersive, but never bloated with filler to bore you. The pacing was tight and perfect, as there was so many revelations that unpacked the plot and unveiled many questions to be answered in the upcoming installments too. The dialogue was so fun, especially with the queens and the schemes being unfolded. The romance was as always beautifully written!
At the end, A Kingdom Of Dream And Decay was all about healing. Abigail masterfully explored healing not only through main characters, but also through side characters. Abigail's bio mentioned she ends up OBSESSED with side characters more than the main characters, i can't say that i'm less obsessed with Analia and Aaron but I'm getting obsessed with Ember and Dimitri!
