How do you create a scandal?

Lady Farah Perrin, younger sister of the Duke of Blackstone, has earned the nickname ‘timid mouse’ because as the only daughter, she’s been brought up to be the demure, perfect ton diamond. However, creating a scandal that cannot be ignored is very achievable. Now all she has to do is ascertain which of the current London rakes will unwittingly aid in her plan.

How do you avoid temptation?

Lord Rockwell Ware, the younger brother of the Marquess of Wolfarth, loathes being known as ‘the spare’. This is my 30th book by Bronwen Evans. I started reading her Disgraced Lords Series in 2016 and loved them all. Not sure why I didn’t continue reading her but didn't pick her up again until 2018. After seeing the cover from book 1, I started investigating a bit more because I didn't remember her being with Dragonblade Publishing (a lot of my favorite authors are with Dragonblade). It looks like this book was previous out in 2022 under a different name and different series which I read back in 2022, which is about 900 books or more ago, I wouldn't remember it anyway so don't mind re-reading. Especially if they have a re-write and add additional things.

I'm so glad I did re-read this series. I LOVED this book. I loved Farah and Rockwell. I loved their story. I loved the adventure. It was so well written. The sex scenes were really well written. It's hard to describe when you really love about without telling you everything about it and I hate when reviewers do that so I won't but DAMN it was good. It is the first book so far on my December 2025 favorite books read list.

A very well written page turner, adventure, mystery, misunderstandings & a lovely romance. I loved both Rock & Farah. She begins as the timid mouse but grows in confidence throughout the book & becomes a force to be reconned with. He’s the adventurous man about town who’s bowled over by Farah wearing one of his hessians. I loved their journey to a HEA which nearly didn’t happen when Farah eavesdropped. I devoured it in two sittings & can’t wait for more

The Lady’s Scandal . . .

Lady Farah Perrin is not at all happy when her older brother, the Duke of Blackstone, arranges a marriage to an unpleasant man, Lord Franklin. Normally she is docile and goes along with expectations. But she is unwilling to marry this man! She decides to “fight back” by creating some sort of scandal so that Lord Franklin won’t want her. She has always had an attraction toward Lord Rockwell Ware, and she decides to set up her scandal using him. The young lady is quite clever and her story is enjoyable. Will she capture Lord Rockwell Ware’s heart? Will they find a HEA together when they finally realize their feelings toward each other? Or will a successful scandal end up driving them apart?

Lady Farrah refuses to marry her brother's choice for a husband. All she wants is her independence, but her attraction to Lord Rockwell keeps getting in the way.
Accidentally falling into his trunk and sailing to Ireland wasn't her best move, but getting closer to Rockwell is her best choice. He promised to marry her to avoid scandal. Not good enough for Farrah. She wants to marry for love. Rockwell's first love is adventure or is it? A second son and spare finds that love will give him the best adventure of all.
Descriptive sex.

Review based on ARC from NetGalley.

I hopped into Lady Farah Creates a Scandal as my first book in the Seasons of Secrets series. While it obviously references events from the first book, it is easy enough to read without that context.

This book has an interesting forced proximity element to it, and a very interesting plot/story. However, the writing gets in the way. It is repetitive and, quite frankly, a bit cheesy -- not in a good way -- throughout. The entire premise is that Farah is a 'timid mouse' and could use the help of Lord Rockwell to create a mini scandal that would allow her to take charge of her own life.

However, she is basically taking charge of her life from the start of this book. The mousy references don't hold up, and the endless self-boosting talk gets tiresome. I searched 21 uses of "timid mouse," and I honestly thought there were more. This may be because these were heavily concentrated in a few chapters -- four in one, two in the epilogue, and so on.

Other weird things just pop out to prop up Farah....i.e. someone mentions work they want to do on their estate, and she suggests they add education for the children. Great suggestion. No context for it previously. Childhood education was never once mentioned (in this book) by Farah. There was no real discussion of this estate with Farah previously, and only the most introspective readers of the previous chapters would have assumed education wasn't available. But the estate owner said, "God, you are magnificent....You think of things I never would have considered."

I died a little inside. This was just one overdone area. The spicy launch also qualifies. In Chapter 15, I officially started highlighting eyerolls and was up to 13 by the end. I was exercising restraint.

Despite this, I was ruminating whether I would give this 3 or 4 stars as I was reaching the end, because I err generously with fun fiction. I decided to let the last 15% make the call, and it did. The passage I highlighted above and the final dramatic point were the dealbreakers and pulled the book down to a 2. If I were not so far along, it would have been a DNF.

I feel bad being this harsh over an overall harmless book, but I think it could be tons better. The author had a nifty plot and outline, and it could have risen to a 4 or 5-star read by tweaking Farah and the reactions of others to her. It also sounds like, based on the other reviews, the first book in this series was better. I may yet take a chance on it to see if this was a questionable one-off for the author.

Lady Farah Perrin, sister to the formidable Duke of Blackstone, has lived under the shadow of her overprotective brother since their parents passing. Dubbed the "timid mouse," Farah has long conformed to expectations—until her brother insists she marry Lord Franklin, a match she knows would lead to misery. Determined to seize control of her destiny, she sheds her shy persona and rebels.

Enter Lord Rockwell Ware, the charming, adventurous younger brother of the Marquess of Wolfarth. Farah, long harboring feelings for Rockwell, seeks his help to escape her unwanted engagement. Initially reluctant, as he plans to travel, Rockwell declines—yet fate intervenes with a humorous twist: Farah inadvertently gets locked in one of his trunks aboard his ship. What follows is a captivating whirlwind of secrecy, mishaps, and undeniable chemistry as they strive to keep her presence hidden to avoid a forced marriage. Despite their growing bond, Farah resists the idea of tying Rockwell into an obligation, yearning instead for love born from true affection.

The narrative sparkles with sharp wit, heartfelt emotion, and dynamic character development. The banter is clever, the emotional depth sincere, and the journey one of both self-discovery and courage. Rockwell’s internal conflict—grappling with the fear of losing personal freedom, doubts about his ability to make Farah happy, and facing a dash of romantic rivalry—was just what he needed to figure out that walking away from Farah wasn’t an option. Meanwhile, Farah’s evolution from compliant to confident is both inspiring and satisfying, especially in her confrontations with her domineering brother. The Duke of Blackstone’s complex persona is intriguing, leaving me hopeful for a story centered around him in the future.

Rockwell and Farah’s adventure is a delightful blend of humor, passion, and personal growth. The extended epilogue serves as the perfect cherry on top, offering a satisfying conclusion. This engaging series has left me eager to embark on the next installment and see where Evans takes us next.

Thanks to Booksprout for a copy of this ebook and this is my freely given opinion.

This is the second book in the series, and while there are shared characters and it occurs after the events of the first book, it feels like it could be read as a standalone for the romance, but continues the story line in book 1 of the over-arcing secret wager.

Lady Farah is about to be betrothed by her overbearing brother to an intolerable boor, despite her protests. In desperation, she decides to orchestrate a situation that is just scandalous enough to make herself unmarriageable, especially since she and her friends are amassing their own monies thanks to the financial acumen of their friend, Tiffany (MFC of book 1). She hopes to rope in her brother's best friend, and her crush, Lord Rockwell Ware.

Rockwell is an adventuring rake who has built up his own fortune and owns several ships, which he uses to aid in his lust for exploring the world. He embraces his freedom as a bachelor to travel, and abhors the idea of being married, especially after losing the love of his life on a sea voyage - something no one else in his life is aware of. He just has one more task to get out of the way before he sails off on his next adventure.

Farah and Rockwell end up in a forced proximity, road trip adventure together when she accidentally ends up trapped in a trunk on his ship as he sails to Ireland. This is a fairly predictable, but pleasant romance that brews between the two as they travel to Scotland in the search of a dear friend whom they believed was dead. As they grow closer and their attraction burns hotter, Farah seizes on a the chance to experience passion and adventure, despite being aware of his aversion to marriage, and Rockwell starts to question his vision of the future, though it does become quite a battle in himself what he wants for his future, as a new options appear to open up to him.

Again, a pleasant romance, but what I find I actually rather enjoyed more is the side story of their discovery of Viscount Furoe in Scotland, suffering amnesia, which leads up to Book 3.

Lady Farah Perrin’s brother became the Duke of Blackstone when he was seventeen and she was ten. It was then that he became overprotective and she became obedient. Now that she was twenty-one, her brother was insisting that she marry Lord Franklin, a man she neither loved nor could tolerate. Since her brother would not listen to her, she decided that she needed to create a scandal that would put off Lord Franklin without ruining her completely. Since Lord Rockwell Ware was the brother of her good friends Ashley and Ivy, whom she had known most of her life, he seemed to be a logical choice to help her with her predicament. Rockwell was the second son of Marquess Wolfarth, and as the spare, he became a wealthy world traveler who had no intention of settling down. Through a series of ridiculous events, Farah found herself locked in one of Rockwell’s trunks and loaded on the ship he was taking to Ireland. Rockwell’s best friend Lucien had fought for the English in the Irish Rebellion and was reported to have died, but on a recent trip to the Emerald Isle, Rockwell swore he saw him. What follows is the story of Farah’s and Rockwell’s race against the clock to find Lucien and bring him home before Farah is discovered missing. Friends band together, lies are told, memories are lost, hearts are broken, and an unexpected guest ruins everything. Eavesdropping leads to misinformation and misunderstandings requiring a significant declaration to smooth the way for a happy ending. These characters come alive in your imagination as they struggle with societal rules, finding their voice and following their dreams. This story is well written, grabs your interest and heart, runs the full gamut of emotions and leaves you with a thoroughly delightful ending! Loved it!.

When I started this book, I kept thinking I'd read it before and it was sending me crazy. Then I realised this series had been published by the author briefly before Dragonblade optioned the series.
The series has a great premise. Women in the Regency who have the financial talents to invest and grow their own money giving them security apart from the men in their lives whether family or potential husbands.
Farah is part of the group and while pining for Rockwell was never going to have a happy ending, she does have the option to make her own life if she can get out from under her overly protective brother's control.
Her brother has decided the safest place for her is married but unfortunately he's chosen an absolute troll as her potential husband, despite her protests.
To scare off the suitor, she decides the best option is to create a scandal. Who better than Rockwell Ware, the younger brother of Wolf, who is the male protagonist of book 1 in the series.
As the younger brother, the spare, Rockwell has limited responsibilities so he has filled his life with exploring the world and enjoying hedonistic pleasures with women along the way. Marriage doesn't suit his lifestyle so he is firmly set on remaining single.
Farah knows this. She doesn't want to force him into marriage, just create enough scandal to make her unsuitable for the marriage mart and the troll.
Of course everything goes wrong and they are forced together on a prolonged trip to Ireland.
I really enjoyed them getting to know each other beyond the casual family connections they had enjoyed over years. The mystery they were investigating wasn't dangerous, but it was important to the emotional development of their relationship. The spice was well done and meaningful.
The resolution was satisfying and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Lady Farah Creates a Scandal by Bronwen Evans is the second novel in the series called the Season of Secrets. One of the premises of the novel is that women are lacking power due to the lack of financial resources. A group of ladies came together and together put their pin money into investments. At the same time a bet was made between this group and another one about who would make the most money over a specified amount of time. ONLY no one knows that one group consists of their sisters, wives and other female family members.

Lady Farah is a bit of a timid mouse. Her brother seems to make all the decisions for her and she does not vocally disagree with him, even when she does disagree with him. Secretly she has joined a ladies group who have put all their financial resources into a pool and have invested them in secret. Farah has almost put enough aside to be able to obtain a small cottage in the country with a couple of servants, if her brother insists she marry someone unsuitable. Unfortunately that is exactly what he is planning to do.

Farah was being noisy at her friend’s house and was accidentally locked into a trunk that Lord Rockwell Ware was taking with him on a ship to Ireland. So she is stuck on a boat with Rockwell (who she does not want to marry) on a boat. The scandal if it were known! Then she stays with him while he searches for his missing friend. OH the scandal is getting bigger. When she returns to England, she pretends to have gotten sick at a friend’s house and prevents the scandal - so she thinks. There is always someone who sees something and then talks…

I enjoyed the novel Lady Farah Creates a Scandal by Bronwen Evans. I liked knowing how both characters felt about the other, but neither of them figured out it was love right away. Lady Farah Creates a Scandal by Bronwen Evans was a good read.

To Ireland and Back

“Lady Farah Creates a Scandal” written by Bronwen Evans is book two in her series The Season of Secrets. This is a very enjoyable story about the romance of Lady Farah and Lord Rockwell Ware. Rockwell is a globetrotting wanderer who insists he is not marriage material. Farah unwittingly sets off a scandal by traveling to Ireland with Rockwell to search for close friend Lucien who was thought to have died five years prior in a rebellion. They are unmarried and unchaperoned, a big no-no in Regency England. If scandal arises, Farah states she will not marry a man without his heart in the bargain. She understands Rockwell and will never force him to get leg shackled. Farah is a lovely enchanting character. She’s smart yet shy, compassionate, giving, and has a passionate nature deeply hidden. Her character transforms through the story from shy and biddable to strong and bold. I liked this character and enjoyed her journey. I liked Rockwell also, although sometimes he seemed like a dunce for not waking up to Farah’s feelings and recognizing his own. Banter between the two was fun, witty, and engaging. There was obvious chemistry between the couple, it radiated off the pages. The steamy scenes fit smoothly in the story and were tastefully written. The story is well written and well paced and held my interest from the first page to the last. There is a secondary plot line regarding Lucien, whose troubled history adds to the story. Characters from book one in the series make appearances in this story. This can be read as a standalone. Definitely recommended.

The sister of the Duke of Blackstone, Lady Farah Perrin is the perfect ton diamond who is about to be leg shackled to someone she does not love. So when her overbearing brother announces she is to marry the detestable Lord Franklin, the previously quiet mouse becomes a canny vixen. She decides that creating a ruinous scandal is her only out.
Enter Lord Rockwell Ware, the spare’ second son. A successful rake and business man who does whatever pleases him. Lady Farah has him in her sights if only he was interested in true love! So starts a hilarious romp where the two leads are thrown together without any chaperones in sight. She is a tempting morsel that he cannot give in to. But he is keep her at a distance no matter how she continues to circle within his orbit. And so the game begins where these two engage in a scandalous trip to Ireland where they must fake her identity amongst other things and gradually venture into passionate ground.
Soon Farah is in need of a saviour to repair her damaged reputation but Lord Ware is not convinced he is truly what is good for her. Read this wonderful tale of opposites attracting and getting to their HEA even though they clash constantly and can’t keep their hands off each other. There is a look beyond in time in the lovely extended epilogue available which will truly make you smile and sigh with happiness. Don’t miss this one!.

Lady Farah Perrin is the sister of the Duke of Blackstone. Her brother has taken care of her since she was little and both of their parents passed away. She is determined not to marry the man her brother has chosen for her because she wants to marry for love.

Lord Rockwell Ware is the brother of the Marquess of Wolfarth. He doesn’t like being know as the spare and lives his life on his terms. He has plans to travel the world and doesn’t plan on settling down.

Farah has a plan that will involve Rockwell if only he will agree to be her partner. Rockwell has plans to travel and tells Farah he will not be able to help her. Farah accidentally ends up locked in Rockwell’s travel chest and loaded onto his boat. Now they have to figure out how to get her back home before a scandal is created and they both end up married to each other. Will they both be forced to marry or will they decide to marry because they love each other?

I absolutely loved Farah and Rockwell’s love story!! It was a lot fun, very entertaining and just down right delightful. I liked how Farah grew from being timid and shy to being able to stand up to her brother all the while Rockwell was supporting her. The secondary characters were wonderful and really added to the entertainment of the story. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next book in the series!!

I always enjoy this author's books, as I am assured of romance, adventure, and a delightful brand of humor. This romance is no exception. Standing up to her older brother has never been easy for Lady Farah, and when he decides that she will be marrying Lord Franklin, Farah comes to the end of her tether. Creating a scandal, hopefully one that will give her the independence she craves, results in her being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Being knocked unconscious is one thing, but waking up on a sailing ship on its way to Ireland is quite another matter.  Lord Ware is on a mission to discover whether his missing friend is indeed alive, and when he finds Farah in his cabin, he has no intention of returning her to London, as time is short. Farah has been attracted to Ware for as long as she can remember, but he has no intention of marriage, and if he did, she would spend long, lonely months on her own whilst he sailed around the world on his adventures.  Thus, being in his presence every day is a bittersweet experience. Fortunately, Ware is successful in his search, with Farah's help, but returning home comes with a plethora of complications. Ultimately, the novel does come to a delightful conclusion, although my heart was in my throat towards the end. I received a copy of this exciting romance as a gift through NetGalley, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

3.5 stars rounded to 4

While I did enjoy this installment in the Season I’d Secrets series, it didn’t hold a candle to Tiffany and Wolf’s story. At times Rockwell came across as self centered, and Farrah - despite her professed determination to live her own life - seemed almost self destructive in her choices. Whilst they figured it out in the end, the journey to get there felt almost interminable.

Bright spots in the story - finding Lucien in Ireland, Blackstone and Farah rebuilding their sibling bond, and the sisterhood supporting each other- though to be honest, Ashleigh feels like a viper in the nest at times - as if she’s almost envious of her friends and the lives they are forging. Perhaps, once Ashleigh gets her story, I’ll understand her character better and might find some empathy for what she’s been put through by the ton.

Lastly, the inconsistency on Ashleigh’s name was a glaring oversight from book 1 to book 2.

In Tiffany and Wolf’s story her name was spelled ‘Ashleigh’’, yet in this one the spelling was changed to Ashley. While it seems small, when reading the two books in quick succession, it’s an editing error that dragged me out of the story when it occurred.

Thank you to Dragonblade Publishing and Bronwen Evans for the opportunity to ARC read this installment. I’m eager to read the next in series.

This book is an absolute treat if you love historical romance with attitude. Lady Farah Perrin has spent years being the quiet “timid mouse” of the ton, but when her controlling duke brother decides she’ll marry a truly awful man, she finally snaps—in the best possible way. Instead of meekly obeying, Farah plots to create a scandal big enough to ruin his plans. Watching her step into her own power was easily one of the highlights of the story.
And then there’s Lord Rockwell Ware, resident rake and proud “spare,” who lives for wagers and doing whatever he pleases. He’s charming, reckless, and the last person who should be receiving Farah’s increasingly bold secret letters. But once they start arriving, he’s hooked—and completely torn between doing the right thing and getting lost in the temptation she stirs up.
Their chemistry jumps off the page. The tension builds through teasing notes, risky encounters, and the kind of forbidden attraction that makes you grin and sigh at the same time. Farah’s boldness and Rockwell’s slow, reluctant unraveling make them an irresistible pair. There’s also a nice emotional punch as their “game” becomes something much deeper and far more dangerous to their hearts.
A light, lively story  full of mischievous charm!

Lady Farah has never been able to stand up to her brother the Duke of Blackstone, but marrying Lord Franklin is where she draws the line. That I if she can find the courage to defy him, or cause a scandal that will cause Lord Franklin to cry off. She had a plan and wanted Lord Rockwell Ware to help her pull it off. What she hadn’t planned on was hiding in his trunk and accidentally sailing to Ireland with him. Rockwell is going to Ireland to look for a friend who had been thought to be dead. If it is discovered that she has been with Rockwell unchaperoned for the duration of the trip, there will be a scandal. When they return home, with the long-lost friend, things get complicated quickly. Rockwell doesn’t want to marry; he wants to travel the world and seek adventure. He will wed Farah to save her reputation. She doesn’t want that. Will they be able to deal with the scandal and their feelings? This well-written story has mischief, adventure, romance, humor, and a delightful happy ending. Nice story and great characters.

Romance, Adventure, and Scandal
He wants nothing to do with marriage—adventure is his life. She refuses to marry without love. So, what happens when one spectacular scandal ties them together?
Lady Farah’s brother has chosen a husband she cannot abide, and she’s determined to escape his plans. Her solution? Create a scandal no one can ignore. She begins sending flirtatious notes to Rockwell, a reckless rake who’s just as determined to stay free of marriage as she is. What she didn’t expect was how far her little scheme would go—or how much her heart would get tangled in the game.
What follows is a delightful blend of romance and adventure that sweeps the reader from London to Ireland and back again. Did Farah and Rockwell ever stand a chance? Could a man who lives for adventure find a way to embrace love without losing himself? And what exactly was the outcome of the scandal she set in motion?
This story was charming and full of playful chemistry. I enjoyed the ride and look forward to seeing what comes next in this series.

"Lady Farah Creates a Scandal" is the second book in Bronwen Evans' "The Season of Secrets" series, though it can be read as a standalone easily enough. This is a quick and easy read. Childhood traumas have left FMC Farah timid and MMC Rockwell on the run from true responsibility. Here, we come along as Farah finds her backbone and Rockwell realizes that adventure has more than one definition. Their story is somewhat angsty and a little too ridden with miscommunication, but there are moments of sweetness.

There was certainly some repetitiveness in the thoughts of both main characters and both made some questionable choices in the third act, but but I think the story remains readable, and I am invested enough in the information provided about the main characters of the next book to plan on picking that one up once it is available.

3 stars. Thank you to Dragonblade and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book. These opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this romance about Farah and Rockwell. This story had an original plot. It contained a missing person with amnesia who had been missing for five years. His return created all these issues that gave a few subplots that proved interesting as well. There was witty banter and humorous dialogue throughout. The characters were well written and well developed. The story was funny, entertaining, romantic, and emotional. The flirtations between the main characters was enticing and it helped build the connection between them. This was a steamy friends to lovers trope with a scandal, and a hero who thought he was incapable of love and a heroine who would only marry for love. They both had to get past their stubborn pride and fear to admit how they really felt to get their HEA.

Another fun story in this series by Bronwen Evans. Ms Evans is putting a new twist on the standard Regency romance with this book by having a young woman trying to create a scandal rather than avoid one. It’s fun having Farah trying so hard to create a scandal that’s not too big, but just the right size to let her live on her terms without being totally shunned by society. Ms Evans does a great job balancing all of this out and writing a compelling narrative. I didn’t think that Lord Rockwell is as interesting a character as Farah, but then she is very much the star of the story.
I really liked how Ms Evans brought up the consequences of Farah’s actions after Farah goes into her plan rather naively.

This is the story of Rockwell Ware & Farah Perrin. As a second son, the spare, Rockwell likes to spend his time travelling the world in search of adventure. Farah is sister to a duke but longs for the freedom to make her own decisions. When she accidentally gets shut into Rockwell’s trunk and placed aboard his ship, their adventures together are just beginning……

The Sisterhood of Scandal series continues with a great plot and a return of some excellent characters. There were a few plot errors like how did she end up with her cloak and bonnet when she hid in the trunk, but I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading about more of the characters as the series continues 🐈‍⬛.

This historical romance gives us a heroine who is trying to build up her courage to stand up to her brother. She has got so used to doing as she's told, it's hard to change.
Sometimes the best laid plans can go awry.
Our hero is a second son why love to explore. Travel is his obsession, until he sees someone he thought was dead.
We do get to meet the characters from the first book in the series, but that doesn't spoil that one for you if you haven't read it yet.
These two lead characters have a grand adventure and lots of fun along the way. I wonder who the next one will be about.
Great fun.

“Lady Farah Creates a Scandal” by Bronwen Evans

-An enjoyable story about the romance of Lady Farah and Lord Rockwell Ware. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Farah sheds her timid-mouse image when forced into an unwanted betrothal. Her bold journey with Rockwell Ware sparks scandal, danger, and fiery passion.

Adventure, mystery, and sizzling romance blend seamlessly with witty banter. A captivating Regency tale of love, growth, and hard-won happily ever after.

This is a witty, heartfelt romance full of adventure, sharp banter, and emotional depth. Farah’s journey from timid to confident is inspiring, while Rockwell’s struggle between freedom and love makes their chemistry irresistible. From humorous mishaps (like stowing away in his trunk!) to heartfelt growth, the story is engaging and satisfying, with a delightful extended epilogue. A wonderful blend of scandal, passion, and true love—I’m eager to read the next in the series!.

This book was just okay. I didn't particularly like either main character but I didn't like them... maybe. It just felt repetitive. And they both made frustrating decisions based on others instead of what the person. I got tired of basing decisions on other's words. I was exhausted. But I don't know if it is because of my headspace but I felt so bad for her best friend. I was genuinely upset at his best friend it made me pause reading a few times. I don't want any redemption.

Maybe I did actually dislike the main characters.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.
Unfortunately this wasn’t as good as the previous book - it felt rushed and like a list of tasks and repetitive inner monologues, with whiplash from intent vs behavior within the same chapter and character acting completely unlike themselves with little to no explanation. Disappointing. I may still check out Courtney’s story because I’m curious where it goes but if the writing and plotting is like this one I’ll have to skip future entries.

A lovely story with lots of drama to keep it interesting. Rockwell loves adventure, but Farah keeps snagging his attention and distracting him. The characters are well developed. The conflicts keep emerging to add spice and depth. The story adds to the overarching series storyline as well. The story kept my interest as I wanted to see how they would resolve each conflict. This story also set up future books in the series that make me want to read them as well.

Loved this wonderful book with Lady Farah whose brother is trying to force a marriage on her to a terrible man but it is her friends brother Lord Rockwell that sets her heart ablaze. Through some unusual circumstance she ends up stuck in his truck on his ship to Ireland and all the things that come after that is amusing and romantic. Great book.

Lady Farah was trying to escape being forced to marry a controlling humorless man when she ends up stuck in Rockwell's trunk on the way to find his missing friend. There is much attraction and steamy moments between them but he is determined to travel alone and she won't marry and be left behind. They are both so stubborn and have trouble communicating that I wasn't sure if they would ever admit their feelings for each other and speak up for what they wanted.
