Some wounds only devotion can heal.Lauren Langford has always been the steady one. The grounded friend. The Omega who never let biology decide her future. With her scent suppressants, sharp mind, and tight circle of fellow Omegas, she’s spent years building a life rooted in logic and friendship, not longing. But when someone tampers with the very medication that is supposed to keep her safe from unwanted attention, she’s thrust into a protective custody arrangement that puts her in the care of three commanding Alphas. These men see past her composure to the heart she's kept off-limits.
Ryan, the regretful childhood bully who never stopped trying to make it right. Tyler, the gentle therapist who sees what she’s afraid to feel. & William, the protector, whose presence alone makes her knees weak.
They don’t just want to guard her. They want to claim her.
But Lauren doesn’t trust easily, and certainly not with her heart. As the danger intensifies, so does the bond forming between them. And when heat rises and instincts take hold, she’ll have to decide if she’s willing to risk everything for the one thing she’s always denied The hope for a loving pack of her own.
A spicy, high-emotion omegaverse romance with protective Alphas, emotional intimacy, and a heroine learning how to belong, on her terms.
"If you binge-read emotionally intense Why Choose romance, love a soft-but-strong heroine, and secretly crave protective Alphas who know what you need before you do—Sofia Faye probably belongs on your shelf. Think Shayla Asher meets L.V. Lane, with a little more caretaking and a lot less darkness."
Hi everyone,
Sofia Faye is one of my pen names—because really, who wants to explain to their family that “work” sometimes involves figuring out how four people could possibly fit in one bed? (Sadly, it's often more logistics than glamour.) But privacy and employability aside, the truth is I’ve always wanted to be an author.
It started with a love for reading, from childhood ponies, I graduated to dragons in highschool (thanks, Eragon), and eventually tumbled into the wonderful chaos of fanfiction. (I don't even want to try and figure out how much time I lost down that rabbithole... <3) Until somewhere along the way I discovered romance through J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood and Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau vampires— I dove in head first and never came back up.
Now, in 2025, I’m finally taking the plunge and writing full-time. Expect plenty of steamy romances ahead. Follow me on TikTok @sofiafayewrites for teasers, updates or random photo from life outside the page (probably featuring my dog, Ginny, or lunch, or snacks). I also have a Substack: @margotsbochord
I loved the slower burn of this Omegaverse novel. The omega Lauren finds her scent matches unexpectedly, and it turns out one of the pack is her highschool tormentor. The alpha pack must slowly earn her trust while also encouraging Lauren to embrace her natural omega needs and keeping a hold on their alpha desires.
"You're not the same person you were in high school" "She doesn't know that. And why should she? Last time she saw me, I was a complete bastard" "Then maybe we need to find a way to prove it to her"
Tyler's bond with with Lauren is especially sweet, he approaches her with such care to help her take down her walls.
It was honestly refreshing to read a fated mates trope that required significant self control and not just had the MCs climb all over each other despite realizing they were fated in the first handful of pages of the book. I also loved that Lauren not only has her scent matched alphas, but also her core group of friends who are always looking out for her. I love how this shows that packs can be scent matched but also packs can be chosen in a way.
I loved that Lauren is a career driven data scientist as well and it is clear that she has worked hard for her achievements. How could you not love an intelligent and driven FMC! I'm looking forward to the next installments of this, I really want to read more about Lauren and her pack mates and how their story progresses!
Truly enjoyed this book! It was a quick read that I didn’t want to put down! Once I started I was hooked! Slow burn with spice! Lauren an Omega is in danger and has to be protected by 3 Alphas who match her. However, she has a bad past with Ryan one of them. What will happen?! Go read!!! It’s so good! Can’t wait to read more!
This is a terrific quick read. Lauren is a great character that readers will resonate with and root for. She's slow to trust but circumstances dictate that she must. It was nice to watch the relationships unfold and no just rush to sex because of the bond. For a short read, the characters are well developed. The spice is good and there's even some intrigue. It's a well written book that doesn't disappoint. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
There are those wounds that even time can't heal, those are the wounds that only devotion can soothe and heal.
Lauren Langford, is an Omega who refuses to let her biology dictate her future. She's been a grounded and good friend always steady on her feet. She takes her scent suppressants daily, keeps her mind sharp, and she loves her tight circle of friends of fellow Omegas. She's spent the last several years of her life building her life that was rooted in logic and friendship, and Lauren has never longed for anything more in her life than what she has.
It's only when someone decides to tamper with Lauren's medication, the very medication that is supposed to keep her safe from any unwanted attention, that she finds herself suddenly forced into a protective custody arrangement that she never asked for, one that puts her in the care of three commanding Alphas. And these three men all see past the composure that she's keeping on the surface, all the way to the heart that she has kept off-limits to everyone for far too long.
Ryan – is the regretful childhood bully. He's always trying to make it right and undo the mistakes of his past.
Tyler – the gentle therapist. He sees everything that Lauren is scared of and everything that she's scared to feel.
William – the protector. His very presence in Lauren's vicinity is all it takes to bring out the butterflies in her stomach and make her knees feel like jelly.
But, these three men don't want to just protect her.
They want to claim her as their own, make her their own.
They can all see that Lauren doesn't trust anyone very easily, and most of all not with her heart. But, as the danger intensifies and closes in around them, the bond that's forming between them also grows stronger.
And when Lauren's heat rises and all instincts kick in and take hold, she is going to have to decide once and for all if she is willing to risk it all for the one thing she's always denied wanting for herself.
The hope that one day she could have a loving pack of her own.
This is a spicy, highly emotional omegaverse romance that has overly protective Alphas, lots of emotional intimacy, and an FMC who is just learning how to belong, all on her own terms.
The Honor of Being Hers is the 1st book in the Terms of Devotion series by Sofia Faye. This is Sofia's debut novel and I would normally go into a debut novel with no expectation of what I was going to be reading. Debut authors are in my opinion a mixed lot. Some are good, some not so good. Well, Sofia did an amazing job with The Honor of Being Hers. This book took my breath away.
I very quickly fell in love with Lauren. She was soft-hearted, grounded, kind, caring, logical, and a good friend. After being tormented in high school she surrounds herself with other Omegas and stays on scent suppressants, happy to just have her friends around her, not looking for a pack and she has no urge to find a pack either.
But, after someone tampers with her medication she quickly finds herself surrounded by three men, one of whom is her high school bully, who are now meant to protect her. But, of course, it can't be that easy because they soon realize that Lauren is their scent match.
Now, on top of protecting Lauren they must navigate the road of gaining her trust and helping her to trust herself and her own Omega needs while they keep hold of their own base Alpha desires.
I love how rather than the normal insta lust/love of the Omegaverse that we get Sofia has given us a slow burn Omegaverse and I just loved the way she wrote this book. It is a roller coaster of emotions.
The bond that Tyler builds with Lauren is so sweet, and I loved the way he approached her with such tender care to help her take down her walls in her own time when she was ready and he never rushed her.
It's always refreshing to read an Omegaverse where there is some self-control required and they are not just going from meeting to bed in a chapter or two. The other part of this book that I adored was how Lauren's friends were always close by watching out for her making sure that she was OK at all times. It just proves that just because a pack is scent matched doesn't mean it can't also have been picked and consented to at the same time. And I think that this is something that's important and has been missed in the Omegaverse.
Lauren proves over and over again that she's driven and has her own career as a data scientist and that she's worked hard to get where she is in life. And I love that we get a strong and intelligent FMC who also has her vulnerabilities.
I love that while there is magic in this book it works differently than you would imagine. I can't wait for the next book and find out what happens next. I want to learn more about Lauren, her men, and all her friends. I can't have book 2 in my hands soon enough.
If you enjoy slow burn and the Omegaverse then this is a great book for you to dive into. It is highly addictive and a great read. I can't wait to see what else Safia Faye writes. I love her writing style and the way she crafts her characters, they feel like they could be your best friends, your siblings, or your next-door neighbours.
I feel really guilty for disliking this book and rating it so low… but I was so aggravated that I couldn’t read another page.
Dr. Lauren Langford is a brilliant mathematician. She’s also shy and anxious, with social anxiety and serious trust issues—mostly thanks to her high school bully, Ryan Monroe. So imagine her horror when she sees him again and discovers he and his pack are her fated mates. Naturally, she tries to get away as fast as possible.
But no. Supposedly, when the alphas scented her, they realized her suppressants were failing. The pack debates whether to help her or leave her alone, like she clearly wants…
They decide to “help” her.
And this is the part that has me fuming: By “help,” I mean they use their power and influence to gaslight Lauren into believing she’s in danger from intentional suppressant tampering, something they never even mentioned when discussing it amongst themselves.
The guys file a mandatory omega-style protective custody order for her.
Lauren’s going to be forced to live in the house of the person who traumatized her for years. No conversation. No apology. Just mandatory custody, shared meals, constant check-ins... I'm not even mentioning the implied physical closeness included in the order (scents, cuddling, & safe-words). Ryan and his pack are now considered her legal guardians.
“When an Alpha invoked emergency protocols, they were legally and personally liable for the Omega’s well-being.”
This whole thing feels underhanded and more like coercion than protection. Why can't she be kept safe literally anywhere else? The fact that all of her friends and family think this is fine and sign off on it also makes me really uncomfortable.
Their method feels like an abuse of power. They find their fated mate, realize she hates them and will never willingly get near them, so they use the legal system to force her to spend time with them when she's vulnerable...all while saying she's not allowed to take her suppressants anymore... it's a trap.
I absolutely despise this entire situation. I can't read anymore.
I really enjoyed the slow burn from the characters! Lauren, the omega, and Ryan, the alpha, are old high school classmates; he's the old bully from school. I enjoyed learning about the twist in their dynamics from their history, but I really liked how Lauren didn't allow her life to be dictated to her; she took matters into her own hands, until an "accident" caused things to go astray for her.
Overall thoughts: characters were really great (I felt like she really brought them to life, as if we were all in real life and people you know), enjoyed the spice, enjoyed that there was still a good storyline in the book, and the spice added to it, and the writing was very well written. Super excited for more books from her!
Lauren in an omega. and she's built walls to herself safe and guarded. but what do you do when that very thing is tested and you're only protection is to let others in? namely Ryan, Tyler, and William. will she let her guard down to let them and take her chances of this being right? I absolutely loved this book. I loved the emotions, the guarding of herself and the decision to let these guys in. the spice in this is just right. but not too hot, but definitely not cold. I think Lauren let her guard down for the right guys for sure. can't wait for the next book. this one was hot
I think this might be the first book I read that a data breach happened. I would have been angry too if someone put my personal information out there for everyone to see. And how about the way Ryan treated her in high school. I am not sure I could forgive him or not. I was bullied horribly in school, but I don't really remember their names. I was a fat redhead (orange really). It was nice that he had been trying to make up for his horrible behavior before he even seen her again.
I found this very disjointed and rushed to read most of it. There was hardly any character development, they were all just there, and Lauren's character was inconsistent. Storyline had a random hiccup in it that was not really explained or explored, again just there. Regret spending time reading it and don't recommend to others.

If you’re in the market for a fast paced romance then this book is for you!
In the world of Alpha’s, Omega’s & bonds meet Lauren, Ryan, Tyler & William.
Lauren is an unbonded omega who struggles, as all Omegas do, in the world of Alpha’s. And after being hurt by Alpha Ryan years before Lauren worked hard to never allow herself to experience that kind of pain ever again. No matter what struggles she has internally she never allows it to show on the outside.
Until one day when her past comes walking back into her life. Everything she has worked so hard to put behind her is now front & center.
Lauren now has to face the pain Ryan caused & the bond connection they both have for one another. When a situation arises that forces them (along with a few others 😏😏) into close quarters they have no choice but to lay it all out on the table.
This book was so good!! I loved it all!! The story, the characters, & the writing!! I can’t wait to read more by Sophia Faye!!
