This is a “she falls first but he falls harder”, secret society, morally grey, “mine”, obsessed MCs, found family, mental health rep, she’s the stalker, college football romance.
Matty and Ophelia were absolutely made for each other. Both hopelessly obsessed for each other. Ophelia tried to fight against it after years of being told her obsessive behavior was “wrong” but Matty was exactly what she wanted and needed, just like she was what he needed. I couldn’t get enough of their story, Matty was the most perfect unhinged and obsessed MMC and Ophelia was such a likable FMC that you couldn’t help but love and root for.
The narration was amazing. Full duet narration with two incredible voice actors! Perfectly done!
And the ending and lead up for the next book?? Amazing! I cannot wait for it! I will never get enough of this series!

If you have read CR Jane, you know you can expect some unhinged, obsessed MMCs, usually with a lot of stalking and plotting to win the girls over. But have you seen an unhinged female stalker?!? Because Ophelia- just WOW.
You guys, I was absolutely thriving in the mess and chaos that was Ophelia and Matty. She might fall first and do all the stalking but our boy falls harder.
AND let this play out in your ears on audio! It was on a whole other level. The duet narration was everything. I felt like I was a part of Ophelia. Absolutely incredible story and audio.

My, oh my… what a barrel of crazy that was!! And it was exactly what I needed from these two psychos!
When it was teased that Matty was going to be with his stalker I had all kinds of visions for how I wanted this to go, and it was exactly how I dreamt! With a few extra unhinged surprises, of course… coffee cup, anyone? IYKYK 🤭
Seriously, that was fantastic. The narration was SUBLIME!! Lucas Wembley and Alexis Page were incredible. The longing and desperation in Ophelia really came through in Alexis’s voice, she captured her beautifully! All her pining, fear of discovery, and unwavering devotion was right there in my ears. I could almost feel it too! And Lucas… wow. The panting during the spicy scenes had me SWEATING. Buckets. Like, almost drowning in myself. Man can this guy narrate spice! Lucas too captured Matty’s heart and souls with his voice. The emotions when his dad was around, his love for Ophelia shining through. A stunning dual narration by both.
It was refreshing to read a book where SHE is the morally unhinged stalker for once, and boy was she! This isn’t just a love story. For Ophelia, its obsession to its highest point, infatuation, worship, ravenous need and absolute pure devotion. Fear of herself and of capture, fear of his rejection. And when he seems to want her the same way? She MELTS for him. Folds like a deck of cards. Gets swept away in the wind because this is ALL she’s ever wanted - to feel loved and adored the way she loves another.
This is definitely a dark, crazy love. It’s psychotic, it’s twisted, it’s cringey and a little ‘oh, dude, no!’ at times. And that’s exactly what makes it SO GOOD!! It’s different, it’s unique for dark romance and it’s so ‘oh, I can’t not look at it’ that it will have you enraptured until the end. A fantastic book when you’re in the mood for a shocker.

Ophelia’s character brings a raw and emotional depth, especially with the mental health representation woven into her journey. Her struggles feel authentic, and her growth throughout the story makes her incredibly easy to root for. Matty, on the other hand, is the ultimate morally grey antihero—protective, intense, and unapologetically obsessive. Together, they create a dynamic that is both unsettling and impossible to look away from.
The banter throughout the book adds moments of humor that balance out the heavier themes perfectly, making the characters feel even more real and engaging.

As always, CR Jane absolutely delivers. Not only do we get unforgettable characters, but the plot?? Completely drool-worthy. This story had me on the edge of my seat NEEDING to know what happens next… while also kicking my feet and giggling over these characters and their antics 🤭
One thing I will always love about her writing is how she gives us FMCs who are imperfectly perfect. Whether it’s medical or mental struggles, she shows us that everyone deserves love and affection—and that message hits every single time 💕

MATTY ADLER! The man that you are. I knew he was going to be my favorite from reading The Wrong Quarterback. The fact that he was just as obsessed with Ophelia as she was with him was EVERYTHING. When he finally sees her for the first time and instantly becomes obsessed, I was like this is everything I needed it to be. CR Jane does not miss with her MC’s and these two were truly perfect for one another.
The giddiness that was had when these two finally got together had me kicking my feet because Ophelia deserved a man that was just like her. Give me instant obsession. Give me instant possession. These characters both had it and I ate it up with no crumbs left.
Both sets of parents (maybe not Matty’s mom) I wanted to yell at but loved how these two stuck up for one another. Ophelia made me ache for how she was treated her whole life, I just wanted to hug her. The interactions between the No Drama Llamas had me cracking up, it was literally the best. The plotting on how to keep his girl was classic!

This book is nuts but in a good way. Both our MCs are completely unhinged but if you've read CR Jane before, you know what to expect. I loved both MCs. Ophelia and Matty were two sides of the same coin.
I literally stayed up all night reading this and I laughed, cried and rooted for them from the get-go.
We get plenty of cameos with Parker and Jase and we even see a little more of Jagger - Jase's older brother - Can't wait for his book!
A lot happens in this book - we have Matty dealing with his crap dad, not one but two stalkers (Emma really needs to get taken out, just saying! She creeps me out as much as she does the boys!), navigating a new relationship and dealing with the secret Sphinx society. Then there was our FMC, Ophelia, she was such an interesting character. She struggled with her mental health and her family's cold attitude didn't help any but I loved that she found her person in Matty.
I was waiting for the shoe to drop but I loved how her secret - once revealed - was handled by everyone, even Garrett.
This is a crazy OTT and unconventional romance but I loved every minute of it! This is 100% an escapism read with obsessive Heroes and quirky heroines who just get it. This is a plethora of red flags not only from the MMC but the FMC too. That being said, Matty and Ophelia have to be my favorite from this series. Their emotional connection just felt deeper to me. Can't wait to see who is next!

Idk if it was just me but that was SO EMOTIONAL. My girl Ophelia had me in tears and my heart was so broken for her 😭. I love her and her clinginess and attachment issues real bad.
Then you added Matty to the mix and they both just got more insane and clingy and obsessed goodness that was intense and I loved every single second of it.
The found family she always gives us is everything to me. The way the boys are always there for each other, and the girls immediately opened their arms and hearts to Ophelia.
If you’re a fan of CR Jane’s wildly unhinged characters and love stories, you will love these two.

There’s no realm of possibility that a book in this series isn’t a five star story. CR Jane is spot on with these uber obsessed football players.
Matty and Ophelia’s story has the perfect twist to boy obsessed trope. The object of his obsession is just as obsessed with him!
Yes our main characters have sizzling chemistry and phew! Those steamy chapters will burn your fingers! But honestly it’s the chemistry between the three friends, Matty, Jace and Parker that is the cornerstone of this book and the whole series. They are funny, witty, goofballs.
The pacing of the story is so good. It’s easy to lose yourself in this book and find that you have devoured the book in a day! It’s engaging and you will find yourself laughing out loud at the antics in this book. And may I add that I am a true lover of sports romances and this series satisfies my sports lovers heart!
But it’s the underlying story that really gets you. The fact that even those that may seem like a misfit deserve to be loved. It’s what got me with this book and this series. I love when a character who doesn’t seem to fit ends up being that missing piece. Great story and honestly great series!

I love this series by CRJane there’s truly nothing better than an obsessed man… except maybe an FMC who’s just as obsessed right from the start. This is a stalker vs. stalker story, and I was completely here for it.
It also touches on mental health and diagnoses, which I felt were handled really well. Ophelia is simply looking for someone to love her and reassure her that she’s okay just the way she is and thats one thing this story delivers on. If there is one thing the men in this series do it let their women know how obsessed they are with them just the way they are and will do whatever it takes to make them fall in love and never leave! 🥵

Matty had more going on behind the scenes than I realized from previous books so it was nice to dig into that a little bit. I did not expext him to be so unhinged but I shouldn't have been surprised! I was CRACKING up at the banter between the guys and his own insides thoughts.

I absolutely DEVOURED this book! I am already ready to have a audiobook reread. Just when I thought no one could compare to Jace face, but then Mr. Growls A Lot, Pretty Baby, Matty comes waltzing through the door.

Her early chapters made me so damn sad, F her parents for real. The way Matty loved her, and stood up for like no one ever has. 🫠🫠 Matty's reaction to finding out she was his stalker made me love him even more. That man was straight feral for her!! After finishing The Wrong Play, I was instantly hooked on Matty and his stalker, making The Wrong Catch one of my most eagerly awaited reads of 2026.
And seriously, when CR Jane said Matty and Ophelia might be her most unhinged couple yet, she wasn’t joking—and I devoured every wild, delicious moment!
Both characters are completely unhinged, utterly filthy, and absolutely fabulous in every way. My jaw hit the floor more times than I can count, and the laughter—oh, the laughter! Parker, Jace, and Matty’s antics had me cracking up so hard, I’m pretty sure my family started questioning my sanity.
I got an ALC from Podium Entertainment, and I can’t recommend experiencing this story in audio enough. The narrators were phenomenal, perfectly capturing every insane twist and turn with spot-on energy. Trust me, it’s a game-changer.

She follows him to classes, around campus, during practice, knows everything about him - but he's never even looked at her. Until one day in class when she has to take the seat next to him I stead of strategically back a few. She offers him a pencil and when they lock eyes - he is hooked. He now will do anything to make sure she is his. But is this just her same obsession placed on a new person - or are they both so down bad that it doesn't even matter.

I don’t even know where to start with this masterpiece. The narrators are INCREDIBLE. I could listen to Lucas webley say anything for the rest of my life. Good gravy that man’s voice is smooth and the accent is perfection. Alexis Paige is perfect for Ophelia. Also, her Emma had me SCREAMING laughing. Anyway, let’s get to my review!

Gosh it's good to be back with this friend group. The banter and the unhinged behavior truly never get old!
Just when I thought the guys were totally insane (in the best way) we meet Ophelia. Holy moly homegirl is a nut case who's in love with our boy Matty. Full blown stalker, a shrine in her dorm room that is quite alarming but Matty has never noticed her until she finally decides to give up but the next day she is forced to sit next to him in class and one look at her he is obsessed! Not going to lie her stalkerness was so cringy where I was covering my eyes for some parts 😂 excited for Garrett's book!!

I was a little curious as to if I was going to be okay with the type of crazy Ophelia was in this. But I will say I thought many time “we love when the men do this so why can’t a woman!!” And let me tell you. This book healed something inside me that was broken from every man that has ever called me crazy.. this booked showed that there is someone out there that will love your crazy and match it. The moment he told her to never be smaller for him I lost it. Full on sobs!!!! And when he found her shrine his reaction. Was definitely not what I was expecting but I loved it!!! He loved her every dark, wild part of her and this is by far my favorite book of the year so far!!!!

Ok I knew this book had me emotionally hooked from the start with how awful Matty and Ophelia's parents are but man even knowing how hilarious the others in the series have been, nothing ever truly prepared me for the way I snort laughed my way through this book. Add in both Matty and Ophelia being stalkers, a healthy dose of praise kink and secret society antics and it's one seriously fun read. But mostly, it was just really beautiful seeing two people who always felt like too much yet not enough find love with each other because of those quirks, instead of despite them.
Oh and folks, he comes in his pants just from tasting her 😉👏

I am OBSESSED with Matty and Ophelia. I've always liked Matty in the previous books, but I'm so glad we got to see him center stage because that man is so perfect for Ophelia. I love that his crazy matches hers. Let's be honest, there is no "sane" member of the No Drama Llamas, and I'm so happy to finally see Matty crack a bit for his woman. Is Ophelia a red flag herself? Eh, probably, but I love everything about her and how devoted she is - and you know our main man is just as devoted.
Every book in this series has been a pleasure to read and I can't wait to see the next one (Garrett?? 👀 👀)!

Firstly thank you to Podium entertainment andCR jane for the ALC of this book. All i can say is HOLY UNHINGED in the best way possible, thisbook had me in a chokehold from page one. The spice is chef kiss and a very unique and creative 😏way. Im trying really hard not to write something that might be considered a spoiler but please take my word for it if you love unhinged characters, funny side characters, complex emotions and events that will take you on a rollercoaster then this is the book for you
