I was completely caught off guard that we got to see Sylvester as a young child! Not only that, but who he sees and spends time with was even more surprising! :o
It really adds another complicated but intriguing layer to this story because, before, it could have seemed impersonal and just things related to nations and politics. This volume showed it's a lot more than that, and the personal stakes are significantly higher than they have been before now. *nervous laughter*
I really really love how Claudia is now considered "Big Sis" because she cares for the other bridal candidates so much, and truly would have never expected at the beginning for them to have such a special relationship!
However, I WAS caught off guard by how she had a moment of going full-on villainess mode. *more nervous laughter*
I am not quite sure what she will do, but as she said, "honeytraps" are not going to work, so I'm at a loss as to how she is going to get information out of a certain anyone. I honestly was with Sylvester in no, she shouldn't, and I'm glad he expressed strong dislike for any kind of plan it seems Claudia is thinking!
Lastly, I probably shouldn't have laughed as hard as I did, but that cat moment with Claudia's dress and Sylvester's expression was hilarious! I'm not surprised something like that happened. LOL!
Also, the bonus chapter was SO fun! Brian has been a great character, and I'm totally rooting for him!
Hopefully, the wait between now and October won't feel TOO long!
The politics were politicking in this volume. We got a flashback of younger Syl and Raul (both so cute). A part from what is going on internally with the Bari Kingdom, they've seems to involved the Harland Kingdom too. Syl and Claudia are catching on and have come up with a plan.
I'm not going to lie, I was low-key shipping Claudia and Raul because of their history in her previous life. BUT after the reveals from the last volume and Syl's continuous love for Claudia, I have now officially set sail on the Claudia and Syl ship!!!!
While we wait for the next volume, it may be a good time to start the novels. 😉
