Chumana is a young woman trapped in a life of caretaking, questioning her origins and convinced the God of Israel has abandoned her—if he ever existed. But her world is about to shatter.
What if a hidden race, a superior intelligence, exists beyond our reality, acting as agents of the divine? Is a mastermind capable of bringing peace or wielding unimaginable power?
Chumana, with her extraordinary mind, is determined to find them, even if it means confronting the very nature of faith and the mysteries of creation.
Prepare to question everything you know about God’s role in the universe.

You have such a unique voice, and I really admire the way you were able to make every page so engaging. Honestly, it’s one of those books that stays with you long after reading.
This book really took me by surprise—in the best way. It’s bold, imaginative, and tackles some seriously big questions about faith, existence, and what might be out there beyond what we see.
We follow Chumana, a young woman carrying the weight of caretaking and spiritual doubt. Her struggle with faith feels raw and real, and just when you think it’s going to be a quiet, introspective story, it takes off into a fascinating blend of mystery, science fiction, and divine curiosity.
The writing is beautiful—rich with emotion but also filled with thought-provoking ideas. Chumana is a standout character: smart, strong-willed, and deeply human. I found myself rooting for her the whole way.
I’m giving it 4.5 stars only because a few parts leaned a bit heavy on the philosophical side, and not every mystery gets tied up neatly. But honestly, that kind of open-endedness feels intentional as I believe it will be a trilogy. This isn’t just a story—it’s an invitation to wrestle with big ideas and maybe see the world a little differently.
📖 If you’re looking for something unique that mixes spiritual searching with a cosmic twist, this one will definitely stay with you.
With “Eighth Dimension: Frequency” Lorilyn Roberts has written her best-ever book. Amazon bills it as “Christian fantasy” or “religious science fiction,” but to me it is a stirring psychological thriller, the story of schoolgirl Chumana Ironvein and her growing realization that the world is not as she imagines it to be.
The slow-burn build-up provides layer upon layer of suspense, with a mother who seems somehow not part of this world, a father who has vanished altogether, a creepy forest and a pet kitten that plays a surprisingly large role in the story. And then a mysterious package is delivered to Chumana’s home, and slowly it becomes clear that she has been chosen for some sort of role with earth-shattering implications.
Along the way we see her challenged in her beliefs about creation, evolution and biblical truths. We also encounter UFOs, and for me this was a highlight of the book, as the author explores the nature of these so-called extra-terrestrial beings.
“Frequency” is written for young adults, a demographic I left behind many years ago. But I found this a gripping book, and I look forward to further titles in the series.
A bold, thought provoking story that blends faith, science, and mystery into a journey of discovery. Chumana’s search challenges everything we think we know about God, creation, and the unseen forces shaping our world.
