A dark, haunting and gripping paranormal romance with an incredible FMC.
Nikki's life is turned upside down when a routine delivery for her job is intercepted and a man claims he's been sent to protect her. From what, he can't say. But when he insists she let him make the delivery for her, everything changes when he comes running from the house with gunshot wounds.
Except somehow, he's alive. And after they drive away and have a moment to stop, he lifts up his shirt to show her that the gunshot wounds are gone. Only the blood on the shirt remains.
Before she has a moment to process anything that's going on, Nikki is pulled into hiding, but from what, she doesn't know. Someone - or something is after her - but who?
The book is a dark and powerful story of how Nikki steps into her power, and hunts for the truth between two worlds of lies.
If you love obsessive devotion, protective MMCs, and dark plots, this one is for you.

A dark and gothic paranormal romance that will keep you up at night!
This book was gorgeous. It starts off with Nikki’s world being turned upside down when her life is saved by someone who claims to be her Guardian, sent to protect her. Somethings coming, but he can’t tell her what.
Having to leave everything she knows behind, Nikki’s life takes a terrifying turn as demons start hunting her, both in reality and in her dreams. Nowhere is safe.
Nikki’s growth as a character throughout the story was incredible to witness. She goes from a victim struggling to process the collapse of the world around her to a powerful queen in full control of her own power. One of the most incredible things to read in this story was the way that despite all the oppressive dark forces that press down on her, and try to control her, Nikki was able to choose. To fight for herself. To make decisions that went against the desires and concerns of the Guardians around her.
The themes in the story are dark and gothic, and there’s trauma, and power, and destiny, and a truth that is waiting to be revealed.
And Josh is a perfectly flawed MMC, fighting his overpowering connection tying him to the woman he was tasked with protecting.
Can’t wait to read book 2!

This is a lovely dark paranormal romance that weaves mistrust, trauma, and confusion into the characters’ lives with subtlety and intrigue.
It feels like a grown-up’s book. On the surface, you get supernatural battles, hints of religious undertones (if you squint), and all the tension you’d expect from the genre. But the true story runs deeper. The emotional weight of the MMC’s is complex and deliciously painful, and the choices they make whilst trying to navigate it all is what drive this book.
A multi-layered story with the right amount of angst, the action doesn’t drag and the world building is not info-dumped.

BOOK 2 CONTINUES THE JOURNEY BUT 2 YEARS AFTER A HUGE BATTLE, IF YOU LOOK AT MY PREVIOUS REVIEW OF BOOK 1 I COVER EVERYTHING, THESE BOOKS ARE INCREDIBLE, THIS IS WHERE WE SEE NIKKI IN DEEP CONFLICT, WE SEE HOW SHE NAVIAGATES HER NEED AND DESIRE TO MAKE THINGS SAFE FOR ALL SHE LOVES, TO FULFIL HER ROLE, BUT STILL SO DAMAGED AND STILL GOING THROUGH SO MUCH, IT WAS SUCH AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER, THE 2ND BOOK IN A SERIES CAN SOMETIMES FEEL LESS EXCITING THAN THE FIRST BUT THIS WAS JUST AS CONSTANT AND THRILLING AS BOOK 1, WE SEE THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, WE LEARN MORE ABOUT WHAT DROVE THEM, WE SEE CHANGES, SECRETS, REVELATIONS, MORE MISTRUST, AND MUCH MORE EMOTIONAL DAMAGE! I CRIED SO MUCH READING THIS BOOK IT WAS INSANE!

July 16, 2026This book has kept me on the edge from the moment I started reading it. It left me crying, giddy and breathless, all at once and all at separate occasions. The twists made me gasp and wanting more. The heartache, the love, the deeper message. I wish I could forget this book and start over again, absolutely amazing!
