When Tasha and Malik finally decide to start a family, years of infertility force them to consider an unconventional path. Tasha’s lifelong best friend, who offers the ultimate to carry their child. But what starts as an act of love turns into something far more dangerous. While Tasha throws herself into work to provide for the family she’s always dreamed of, Malik finds comfort in Reign’s presence… and Reign starts craving more than just gratitude. As boundaries blur and secrets build, a twisted web of betrayal, lust, and obsession threatens to destroy everything, including the unborn twins at the center of it all. This isn't just a story of surrogacy gone wrong—it's a raw, hood-rich tale of friendship turned fatal, marriages tested, and the line between loyalty and lust completely erased. Because when a womb is borrowed, emotions can’t always be returned.
Nikki Rae is an independent author who lives in New Jersey. She explores human nature through fiction, concentrating on making the imaginary as real as possible. Her genres of choice are mainly dark, scary, romantic tales, but she’ll try anything once. When she is not writing, reading, or thinking, you can find her spending time with animals, drawing in a quiet corner, or studying people. Closely.
I knew it, I knew we could not trust Reign. But, also, how is Malik thinking he can get a pass... No buddy, you were shady as your grandmother's funeral fan. Anyway, as much as I hate infidelity stories, this one gets a slight pass... Keep an eye on Malik, I'm still not sure he needed to be forgiven.
This was one explosive story. I couldn't believe Tasha didn't see the signs of her best friend, Reign jealousy of her. This had been festering since they been in college and once Tasha had swore Reign to a secret, Reign knew would be able to use it one day.
It blew my mind that with the profession, Tasha was in, she didn't tap into her knowledge or her intuition.
It was difficult for me to comprehend that Malik would cross the with Reign and did more than once.
I'm happy the twins were fine and for Reign ooh well.
I'm not so forgiving, I could only co-parent with him. I know they both made choices, but its something about him crossing those emotional and physical lines, I couldn't forgive.
Whew this book was a lot emotionally. I couldn’t imagine going through what Tasha did. To have a friend and not know their really intentions. I’m glad Reign confessed to Malik because I think if it wasn’t for that he would’ve still been on bull shit. I feel like Tasha should have been paying more attention and had rules. I would have never allowed my husband to be to involved with the pregnancy. Like only doctors visit but no other contact and I definitely wouldn’t have let him go anywhere with her smh.
Tasha trusted a friend she shouldn’t have. I would have ended her for what she did to destroy my family and I would not have forgiven Malik for sleeping with someone I considered my best friend. My marriage and my friendship would have been over. I thought this book was well written and I’ve seen situations that have happened like this in real life which made it super relatable but this how people get hurt. I’m glad Tasha was able to get her babies back but Malik could stay where he was at after he put his family in danger.

Borrowed Womb was a cinematic read and fast page turner!! Think about Hands that Rock the Cradle or all the possible things that can go wrong with Surrogacy!! Backstabbing, envy, to covet is through the pages of this story! I gave this 5 stars before I even finished! And by the way we all need friends like Leah and Tamia!!
This book was great! I was worried about the couples at first but glad they had happy endings. Reign was really crazy! The surrogacy process can be tricky even with someone close to you. Great work!!
