Por un lado, qué pereza lo de la chica mala compitiendo por el amor del chico guapo. Por el otro, bueno, que me den más de esta mierda xD. Pues nada, ya tenemos nuevo arco, supongo. Lo que más me ha gustado ha sido la escena de la playa y el posterior cuidado.

This series may be very teen drama/slice of life, but with teenage boys in love with each other, but I love it to death. It’s fluffy, and unproblematic, which is something we all need sometimes. Kakeru and Yamato are now in their third year, and are in separate classes for the first time. Now apart from each other more than they are used to, and a crush of Yamato’s making her presence known, Kakeru is determined to make himself into someone that people will not question by Yamato’s side.
It really sucks how long between volumes you have to wait for the English serialization, but I will be patient to see where our boys story goes next.

Fairly overdramatic but also cute.
After a long hiatus, Kakeru and Yamato are back, and starting their final year of high school. Since they're 9 volumes in, the will-they-won't-they of their relationship has finally settled down (they can, in fact, reach each other now), so there has to be some new outside drama introduced to mix things up.
Like Kakeru, I had forgotten about Fujiwara, the girl who'd asked Yamato out at the beginning of the very first volume. She's back now with a glow-up and a serious attitude problem.
Turns out she's actually the female idol of their year, and still hooked on the idea of dating the hottest guy in school. So when a clock falls on her during a strangely dramatic classroom incident, Yamato picks her up and carries her to the nurse's office (even though it was her arm that got injured...?), which sets off a social media storm.
Some of this, like I said, was a bit over-the-top. Yamato had just been asked out by another girl at their class's cherry blossom viewing party and had immediately come to Kakeru to tell him what happened and that he'd never been in love with anyone else. Why would Kakeru have a moment's anxiety about Fujiwara, whom Yamato had rejected long before the two of them were even dating?
It honestly would've made more sense for the rival love interest to be targeting Kakeru instead (maybe his straightforward class rep vp?), because Yamato is very gay and very fixated on one person. So all of that was rather eye-roll-worthy.
What I liked was how it gradually progressed over the volume, with Kakeru being less jealous and more determined to work hard at improving himself. If other people see him as a forgettable, average guy who doesn't deserve to be by Yamato's side, then the natural solution is to do something about it.
I liked that, and I appreciated all the casually strewn-in examples of how thoughtful Kakeru is. He's always pausing to help other people without even realizing he's doing it, which is one of the many things Yamato loves about him.
Did this series need to drag on for this long? Honestly, probably not. But it's cute, the two of them are sweet together, and I like Kakeru's growth arc.
The focus seems to be on throwing in a whole bunch of new characters, so this series may go on for quite a while...don't know how I feel about that yet, but I ended up really liking some of the other side characters, so maybe that'll turn out okay.
Hosaka continues to need his own side story, although I really wish that was going to be a romance with his friend and not whatever weird thing's going on with Yamato's sister. That section felt really pointless, and I kind of don't care about her at all. I'm glad she's got a group of friends she enjoys spending time with, I guess. Not sure why that deserved half a chapter though.

I used to really enjoy this series. It was ao cute. But this latest installment was...honestly, I ended up skimming most of it. An age-old formula of most popular girl wants most popular guy, and popular guy's "average" bf becomes insecure, even though there is actually nothing to worry about. It was nice to see Kakeru grow more into his feelings, but overall I was really bored. I will continue the series, but I am not as enamored with it as I used to be.

Empecé a leerlo así tristona porque pensé que era el último (me daba toda la vibra), pero al final acabaron introduciendo una nueva trama que sólo puede apuntar a al menos 2 tomos más MUEJEJEJEJEEEE *insertar sticker frotándome las manos de forma malévola*
Para variar, me gustó muchísimo jiji Me parece muy fuerte lo mucho que (al menos a mi parecer) evolucionó este manga en términos de calidad de dibujo y de narrativa, estoy muy orgullosa de la autora y todo<3
Lo de la nueva trama le dio como un sentido distinto a la historia, y es como uh, rarete, porque las vibras que transmite son distintas también, pero al mismo tiempo lo hace muy emocionante.

Yo ya tenía claro que la chica esta iba a ser malvada, pero es que se está pasando de madres de una manera que yo qué sé. Espero que no haga que Kakeru se sienta muy mal (sé que va a pasar) y que todos descubran pronto la verdadera cara de esa chavalita, que yo no sé quién se cree en la vida.

After so long, I wanted to see more cute moments between Kakeru and Yamato!!! Instead, there was a lot of drama with Fujiwara!!! She’s such a mean girl.
I’m also very tired of hearing people say that Kakeru isn’t “good enough” to be around Yamato. He so is!!! I love his determination at the end of this volume. Don’t let the meanies win!!!!!

It a fun read...
Volume 9 is an engaging fun read, with the boys' relationship deepening and maturing. Fujiwara, however, is a truly unpleasant and unwelcome character addition. I hope she gets what she deserves quickly. She's not a foil, she's just a nasty, cruel character. I hope she gets her comeuppance in volume 10.

It has been so long since I read this series I missed my two cutie pies. We got a rival in the form of the age old popular girl that believes she deserves the guy. But all the cute moments with them was so good, the cherry blossom, the sharing of the rainbow, and the beach. I just love these two. I want volume 10 now.

Después de pasar unos días de acampada con sus amigos y su novio durante las vacaciones de primavera, Kekeru va a una quedada con todos los compañeros de su clase para celebrar la festividad de los cerezos en flor y aprovechar para pasar tiempo todos juntos, puesto que para el siguiente semestre, el cual es el inicio de su último curso de bachillerato, habrá cambio de clase y eso significa que muchos ya no estarán juntos. Pero a Kakeru jamás se le pasó por la cabeza que él y Yamato fueran a estar separados en el dicho último curso, el último instante que podrán estar juntos antes de dar el paso hacia la formación o la vida adulta.
Tragándose el varapalo, Kakeru decide pensar en positivo: Yamato está en la clase de al lado y de él depende el disfrutar del último año escolar. Pero esa buena voluntad se evapora cuando empiezan a correr rumores de que Yamato está saliendo con Azusa Fujiwara, una de las chicas más guapas y populares del instituto y que, el curso anterior (concretamente en el primer tomo del manga), se declaró a Yamato, aunque este la rechazó. Y, sí, las cosas pueden empeorar más con respecto a este tema cuando una foto de ambos comienza a circular por internet. Aunque Kakeru sabe que Yamato lo quiere, al estar en el inicio de su relación sentimental, no puede evitar rallarse y más cuando comienza a sentirse inferior respecto a Fujiwara y también por ser él mismo tan diferente de Yamato. Por ello, Kakeru tiene claro que, aunque sea poco a poco, está más que dispuesto a cambiar.
Siguiendo los pasos de Kakeru y Yamato en su último curso de instituto, Mika nos introduce nuevas encrucijadas que nuestros protagonistas tendrán que superar para que su relación sentimental se vaya consolidando y para su propio crecimiento personal.
