One passionate kiss. One unforgettable night. And now they’re bound together forever.

Sunday Monroe never expected that a fake date would lead to kissing the one man she desires most—her aloof and reserved roommate, Cedar Jackson. That kiss ignites a fire that neither of them can ignore. But once she’s had a taste of the emotionally detached man, walking away isn’t so easy, even if it means getting burned.

Cedar is convinced the only way to protect Sunday from the shattered fragments of his past is to keep her at arm’s length. But a spontaneous night of passion forces him to confront the pain of his past—and his growing feelings for Sunday. What was supposed to stay behind closed doors is about to be exposed.

A life-altering decision weaves their future together and forces them to bridge the gap between them. But Sunday’s hiding a secret that mirrors the pain of Cedar’s past, a past that broke him once before. As the past endangers their future, can Sunday and Cedar overcome the turmoil and misconceptions, or will fear rob them of the love they desire?

Friends and co-workers Sunday and Cedar have harbored hidden feelings for the other, that they have never explored. However, a fake date/kiss changes everything. Cedar believes love is not for him after what he just endured, but is this the push he needs? When he loves he loves hard, and he hopes that Sunday is up for the challenge.

Sunday wants it all with Cedar until she gets it, then she stalls. She is also letting the sins of her past ruin her present. Just when she gets Cedar onboard, he is all in, but her actions are bringing back the ghosts he is trying to bury. Girl, just talk to that man! Ughhh.... 😤 Her immaturity was shining through with the way she was carrying on, but she got it together. Okay read.

Friends to Lovers!!

Sunday and Cedar start out as roommates and friends. They eventually step over the line when a kiss turns into so much more and changes everything. Both of them are still carrying issues from their pasts that they had to overcome in order to make their relationship work. Cedar was dealing with betrayal and Sunday was dealing with secrets not too many people knew about. I loved them as a couple, but Sunday did get on my nerves with her lack of communication skills. When she saw that her actions and secrets were triggering Cedar, she should have told him what was going on with her past. I also couldn't get over the brassy behavior of Cedar's ex-wife and Sunday's father. I was side-eyeing both of them. 🙄 I was glad when Cedar and Sunday were finally able to sit down and have the adult conversation that they needed to have and gain their peace. This was an emotionally written friends to lovers book that I really enjoyed.

Sunday

This was my first read by this author and I enjoyed this friends to lovers story from beginning to end. Sunday and Cedar started off as friends, roommates and coworkers who had an attraction to each other that they wouldn’t allow to be explored for years. It took one fake date situation for them to no longer be able to completely ignore their attraction and feelings for each other. I liked that their relationship was built off their friendship and I liked them together. Sunday was about to PMO at one point, but she got it together and revealed her secret that truly shouldn’t have been a secret.

Cedar loved hard when he allowed himself to feel his feelings and I appreciated that once he was ready to admit his feelings to himself, he wasn’t shy with doing so to Sunday.

Sunday Brunch

This is one of my favorite tropes roommates to lovers and this hit every point both Cedar and Sunny had good jobs but each were holding on to past hurts but they worked through them with some communication an forgiveness… now his sister to still be friends with Taylor after she hurt Cedar was a no go for me I don’t care how many cuss outs that friendship would be done & for Taylor to ask to donate sperm was truly another level of selfishness now to hear Sunny’s past I understood that she didn’t want to be judged and it was hard to live in her own happiness when she never forgiven herself but her daddy did do to much for me…this was so worth the read
Job well done

Confusion

These two were made for each other. Both were headstrong, but loving people.

I loved the fact that pretend turned into real love. Its always has to be some storms before the sunshine.

I hated Cedar got hurt by his wife but the kicker was she had the audacity to want him to help produce a child with her now mate, can you say h-naw!

As always secrets seems to always come out and it almost destroyed what Sunday wanted to badly.

I was happy when they both decided to have that talk and after that life was good. That Cedar was the MAN!!

I will say I love how these two started out but baby you really don’t be knowing a person until you pull back layers. I love how Sunday and Cedar came to be but I swear Sunday gets on my damn nerves. Its always someone judging you for you not doing something to change while having their own issues and not being held accountable for their mess. That and knowing that the very thing she was doing is the reason Cedar is the way he is was just dumb and childish. Cedar did need to get somethings under control and both needed therapy.
