Grayson I was determined to wipe away my broken heart with a sizzling summer fling. That’s when I met him— the charming bartending cowboy whose irresistible dimples and warm smile had me questioning my plans to race back to the bright lights and big dreams of the city. Just as I began to feel at home in his embrace, the shadows of my past came roaring back, forcing me to confront a painful truth— healing my heart is more important than sparing my pride.
Meanwhile, Izaac Scott rode into town with little more than his worn boots and a well-loved baseball cap. Fleeing the haunting memories of a lost first love, his road ahead was anything but scenic, but I hoped that my caring touch as a doctor could guide him to understand that real love has the power to mend even the most fractured hearts. Choices force him to confront his demons head-on, for better or worse. And it was going to get worse before it got better for us.
I buckled up for a bumpy ride into healing and the undeniable spark of new love.
It’s a gripping journey, filled with twists and turns, just like a bull rider battling the wildest bucking bronco. Join Grayson and Izaac on a journey of redemption and the hope of new beginnings in this steamy male/male romance as gritty and real as the rodeo of life.
This title was previously released under the pen name Jules Dixon. It has been revamped and includes additional scenes to enjoy!
Grayson, newly graduated with his PhD, newly broken up from his boyfriend, is home for the summer and considering a fling to take the edge of everything. What he isn't expecting is a house full of family drama, a hospital visit and some more family drama or Izaac.
Izaac has made the place his home for the summer, somewhere he can stay, somewhere his sister can come and stay for her summer break. He's found himself a couple of jobs, helping out on the farm and bar tending, its enough to see him through, enough for this one summer before he moves on again.
It seems as though most of the characters in this story are running from something, they may not all be able to vocalise what that something is but it is bringing them together in ways none of them would have ever anticipated. When Grayson and Izaac lock eyes across the bar the electricity, the connection is immediate. What follows however is not a sweet romance, it is a series of mistakes, misunderstandings, people who are weighing themselves down with too much past hurt and trauma, not sure how to let go and live in the now.
Raw and passionate this book will break you heart over and over again but it will keep mending it too for nothing is more powerful than love.
I received a free copy of this book via Last Chapter Press ARC Readers and am voluntarily leaving a review.
'Izaac: Your eyes are unique. They were the first thing I noticed about you, my friend. Grayson: Thanks. Your ass was the first thing I noticed about you.'
I really enjoyed this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I love a good hurt/comfort romance. I loved both Grayson and Izaac and the chemistry and banter between them. This story was as much about healing as it was about falling in love.
This is the first story I've read by this author and I would read more. 4 stars
This story goes beyond a typical cowboy romance—it’s about healing. Each character faces personal struggles, but with the love and support of family and friends, they begin their own journeys toward growth. At its heart, it’s a story of forgiveness, acceptance, and finding the strength to move on.
Spurs is the first book in the Cherry County Cowboys series and I really enjoyed it. This is an emotional, hurt/comfort read about Grayson and Izaac. This was not the easiest book to read, but it was so worth it.
