Emilia
The contract made me his wife.
My sister's betrayal made me the one he'd use to give him an heir.

When my sister, Sabrina, ran off with the wrong Vexler days before her wedding, I stepped in to save our family. I agreed to take her place at the altar... and in Heath Vexler's bed.

Heath is cold. Powerful. The ruthless mafia boss who owns Las Vegas and everyone in it.
And when I resist him, he doesn't hesitate to pull me over his knee and show me what happens to disobedient wives.

I was supposed to be a substitute.
But the more he takes from me, the more I crave his touch...
Even though I swore I'd never fall for the man who took me as his second choice.

Lexa
I thought I could play the game.
But I ended up on my knees for the man who refused to let me go.

Cassian Merrick was supposed to be a warning.
He showed up at my door to punish me for a betrayal I couldn't undo.
I tried to lie. I tried to seduce him. I tried to run.

But Cassian doesn't play. He dominates.
And he sees every broken, burning part of me I've spent years trying to hide.

Now I'm trapped in his world—half captive, half worshipped—
and the worst part is, I'm starting to love the way he owns me.

Author's Bride Switch is a dual-couple dark romance that follows two best friends as they're claimed by the ruthless men who refuse to let them go. Includes dominance, spanking, betrayal, and obsessive love.

When her sister runs off leaving her arranged fiancé to run away with his son, her father arranges for her to step in as the new bride. It wasn’t what she expected, and he isn’t who she expected, but she was raised to do her duty to her family. He wants to Marie as a family alliance, but also wants an air after his disappointing son ran off. When this book started, I thought that I was going to struggle to finish it. I did not like either of the main characters. He comes off to aloof and detach and their wedding night spice was borderline ick. She was flat without a lot of personality and didn’t seem to stand up for herself.. I grew to like them a little more as the story progressed. She grow more into herself and he softened, but honestly what saved this book for me is the secondary love story between his enforcer and her best friend that is the real star of the book. Their relationship was dynamic and explosive at times. This was also an interesting take because I would say that about a third of the book was their love story with their POV’s being alternated into the book. I initially did not think I was going to like that, but as their story was so much better than the other couples, I began to look forward to it. The other couple grew on me, but they would not be memorable.. The second couple is the whole story.

Overall I like the premise of this book and the characters do grow on you. But I do not understand why this wasn't made into two separate books. It should have been one book for Emilia and Heath and then a separate book for Lexa and Cassian. For me personally it made it harder to enjoy the book will having to jump back and forth between both building romances. What the multiple povs for the different relationships it became a little tedious. Even in the epilogue it started out with Lexa's and then Emilia's even though this book was supposed to be about her and Heath. If it are focus more on their relationship instead of trying to do both relationships side by side I think it would have been a five-star book.

But there is a conversation in the book between Emilia and Lexa that I have to quote cuz I think it was hilarious.
" he didn't say yes right away," I said, hating how defensive I sounded. "He wanted to make sure I was agreeing to it." Lexa's perfectly arched eyebrow shot up. "Oh, how considerate of him." The sarcasm dripping from every word. " did he also ask if you'd prefer chloroform or blindfold on your wedding night?".

Vanya Laurent caught my attention from page 1 and I was mesmerized through the whole book! Emilia and Heath’s relationship is complicated: a forced marriage, a dominant mafia man, and an innocent woman. His cold, demanding personality vs her quiet strength is fascinating to read as they discover truths, her desire and submissive nature, and the protectiveness that he exhibits.

They develop their relationship gradually through danger, betrayal, and love that can’t be denied. Her bf and his associate, Lexa and Cassian, play a large part in the book as they develop their own relationship. I love the D/s aspects: both men believe strongly in discipline with heart! It’s a realistic portrayal of finding your one! Enjoyed it tremendously!.

The story started ok. Even the plot was fine. However I got lost because I was not sure who's story I was reading. Who were the main characters. Even the epilogue was not about who I thought was the main characters. I disliked both the fmcs one was dumb and immature the other one was manipulative and a liar. Honestly I'm not sure what type of writing this.

Not good

I have read some of the other authors books and they were much better. The male characters in this book were like robots no emotion. The females were so immature and passive and made me want to gag. The spanking scenes we're supposed to teach the women lessons like they were 12 years old they were ridiculous. This story had potential but the characters were so robotic and predictable.

Wonderful

I read Vanya's book so fast, I was upset when it ended. The characters and plot were so well thought of. But so much fun to read. Im looking to go reading more of her books.

Great Read

I’ve been stumbling around so many books lately trying to find something that captures my attention. Bride Switch definitely did. I highly recommend this one.
