They tried to break her. Instead, they molded something dangerous.
Eight years ago, Lina vanished without a trace.
Now she’s back—with a new name, a new look, and secrets sharp enough to draw blood.

Aro’s not the same girl who used to laugh in the dark.
She doesn’t believe in happily ever afters.
She believes in survival.
But when her past crashes into her present, she’s forced to rely on the men she left behind.

Johnny—the man who broke her heart. A killer with a revenge plan and a mouth that cuts as deep as his loyalty. Almost.
Axel—the man she left behind. He never stopped looking. He’s angrier, harder, and still hers in every way that matters.
Nik—the man she never got to start with. Heir to a throne he doesn’t want. He doesn’t blink, doesn’t beg, and doesn’t lose.
Sean—the man who’s been by her side. Quiet, patient, deadly. A wildcard with a gun and a soft spot she never saw coming.

They all want her.
They all want to protect her.
They all want to keep her safe.

But Aro doesn’t want safe.
She wants revenge.
And if that means setting fire to everything they love?
Then let it burn.

K.L. Lindsey writes dark romance because it’s cheaper than therapy and way more fun. She has a soft spot for golden retriever men with sharp teeth, traumatized girls who burn the world down, and plot twists that hurt.

No one knows if she’s chaotic-neutral or just caffeine-dependent. Probably both.

When she’s not writing morally questionable characters doing morally questionable things, she’s rereading her favorite scenes and wondering if she should warn her readers… (She won’t.)

She lives in a house full of books and bad decisions with her husband, kids, and cats.

ARC Review:
One thing I really appreciated about this sequel is that it’s told in multiple POVs—something I was hoping for after book one. It’s also written in a dual timeline, which added an interesting layer of suspense and kept me engaged.

That said, I didn’t enjoy the character development as much, especially when it comes to Lina. Without giving away too many spoilers: her choices with the three men felt less like a polyamorous setup and more like cheating, which made her come across as shallow rather than strong. On top of that, her sudden involvement with a mafia boss—who treats her in a degrading way—felt off, especially given her PTSD. The fact that her bodyguard could casually interrupt her intimate moments with Marcus just added to how strange it all read.

Axel and Nick’s characterizations also felt inconsistent. In book one, Axel was written as the strong, resolute alpha, while Nick was the calm, softer one. Here, the roles seemed reversed: Nick became the broody alpha, while Axel came across as more chirpy and introverted. This shift made it hard to stay connected to their arcs.

Another issue for me was how easily the men—who are portrayed as obsessive, possessive alphas especially with Sean now in the picture—seemed to accept sharing her. It didn’t align with how their characters were originally built.

Like the first book, this one ends on a cliffhanger, which will keep readers curious about what’s next. Overall, it’s a suspenseful story with a morally grey touch, which I appreciate much, but due to the inconsistencies and Lina’s character development, it lands at three stars for me this time.

Ugh, I saw that ending coming, and it still hurt. I didn't like Johnny at the end of book 1, and honestly, I still don't like him at the end of book 2.

As someone who really struggles with time jumps and flashbacks, I had a hard time with this book. I didn't really care about Marcus or anything that happened in the 8 years that passed between books (except Jeremiah and Pauly because they seemed like LOVELY drug dealers). This book ripped out my heart when describing Axel and Nik and how they love each other, but their relationship is still missing her. Nik trying not to take it personally when Axel says that he isn't enough literally ripped the breath from my lungs.

I love Sean. No notes, he is perfect and I love how seamlessly he integrated into their polycule. I cannot wait for book 3 to see how this ends!

“Dangerous” by K.L. Lindsay continues the rollercoaster ride of the FMC and MMCs while also introducing new faces and connections.

I was mind-blown—jaw on the floor—at the ending of this book. It definitely went deeper into the behind-the-scenes workings that were only touched on in the first book (and it was done so well).

I really enjoyed how the characters have developed and evolved over the eight-year gap. The flashbacks sprinkled throughout helped fill in missing pieces, provided reminders, and tied everything together seamlessly.

As for the FMC—poor girl. I won’t spoil anything, but she has taken every punch life has thrown at her and continued to stay so strong.

And the MMCs… we just keep collecting attractive yet sensible men here, and I’m absolutely loving it. (Some of the male characters? Never mind—too graphic to even say!)

I cannot wait for the third and final book to be released so I can finally see what happens next!

Overall, I’d give this book a 4.5/5 rating and a 2/5 spice rating—a few more scenes than the first book, but still mild in detail.

My Gosh!! I was totally floored by the FMC and her guys, if I'm being honest I wasn't expecting this type of cliffhanger, the story gives such mature pov's that I'm pretty sure that if you aren't open minded you'd get lost in the characters and Thank you for I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

She did it again! Another nail biting ending and I'm stuck waiting to find out what's next. I'm so in love with all of the characters and Lina is that girl you hope you can live up to one day. I tried to make myself take in this book slower and though I succeeded it's still leaving me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next.

GOSH, here we go again! The cliffhanger… GAH. I knew whatever was coming, I wasn’t going to like it. And of course—just when she finally got a sliver of peace, a tiny moment to simply be with the guys—it couldn’t last.

I loved the flashbacks showing how each of them handled the time apart (my heart 🫠). And bless our boys for sticking together. Also…the new guy. IYKYK. 👀

All I’m saying is: give me those gummy bears in bed, please! I am desperate to see how it all ends in the final book—and whether our girl actually gets to keep the ones she loves.

It’s been eight long years since Lina vanished at the end of the last book, and time has left its mark on everyone. Lina, now calling herself Aro, has shed the skin of the naïve teenager who once ran for her life. In her place stands a sharper, sassier, more irreverent survivor who refuses to play by anyone’s rules but her own. That said, her entanglement with Marcus, the obsessive mafia boss, grated on me from the start. His version of “protection” always felt more like possession, and I couldn’t help but question whether Aro was just walking into another trap disguised as safety. Thankfully, balance came in the form of Sean, her hulking, lovable bodyguard—a mix of best friend and big teddy bear, who’s obviously growing attraction belied the fact he was gay. Or was he? But when danger erupts, Sean’s desperate attempt to save Aro only delivers her straight into Johnny’s hands. Johnny, once broken, now emerges darker, more calculating, and driven by a mission no one sees coming. He seems to want Aro/Lina’s forgiveness, yet every move he makes undercuts that desire, keeping him as inscrutable as ever. Meanwhile, Axel and Nik never stopped searching for Lina, and their unwavering devotion made their eventual reunion all the more emotional. I especially loved seeing their relationship deepen over the years, though their happiness was always shadowed by Lina’s absence. The flashbacks were a smart touch, filling in the missing years with poignant glimpses of the intervening years and what shaped Aro’s new identity. And when her stepfather Joe surfaces, linked to Johnny’s dangerous new mission, the entire crew bands together for a desperate gamble using Aro as bait to take him down. Of course, in true series fashion, the plan goes sideways and we’re left dangling on yet another cliffhanger, breathlessly waiting for the final volume to see how this rollercoaster ride ends.

I don’t even know where to start. Dangerous was like stepping into a storm I didn’t see coming—and I loved every second of it.

This book had me on edge in the best way. There’s this constant tension, like you’re holding your breath and waiting for something to snap. And when it does? Whew. I felt everything. The fear, the thrill, the ache. It’s not just suspense—it’s emotional suspense. The kind that messes with your head and your heart.

The main character? She’s fierce, flawed, and so painfully real. I found myself rooting for her, yelling at her, and wanting to hug her all at once. There’s something magnetic about her strength and vulnerability coexisting like that. It reminded me that being “dangerous” isn’t always about what you do—it’s sometimes about what you survive.

The writing is sharp and immersive. I could feel the atmosphere, like I was right there in the chaos. And even though I usually need a breather between chapters, I devoured this one in two sittings because I just couldn’t let go.

If you’re into stories that challenge you emotionally and keep you guessing, this one’s going to hit hard. It’s intense, it’s beautifully written, and it left me thinking about it long after I finished.

This series just gets juicier and juicier. The cliffhanger from the first book in the series had me ecstatic for what was to come.

Be warned, though, this series gets DARK, so I would reccomend reading the trigger warnings before reading!

Once again, those spicy scenes were AMAZING!! I am here for the plot but those scenes make Dangerous even better. I love that the book is set a few years after the events Damaged but have chapters set between the events of the first book ending and the second book starting, which gives more insight for the readers. I love that Lina has grown up more, it makes the book more enjoyable, comparing her as a teenager to an adult with a new identity in a different city, surrounded by different characters.

The ending.. was intense. Everything could have been perfect, and I really expected it to be. I NEED to read the third book and see where that takes these characters.

Overall, even though the vibes were different than Damaged, Dangerous felt intense and more mature, in a way, with the teenage characters having grown up. I loved the relationships. I loved the turns along the way. It is a series defenitely worth reading,in my opinion. This is a brilliant Dark Romance.

Another gripping story!

🌶🌶

Book 2 did not disappoint. We jumped 8 years and the characters delivered everything I would have expected from that. Each one of them has grown into their own through all the heartbreak and traumas. I loved that! it felt realistic in a way that allows you to connect with each one.. while these men were longing for everything they lost, life doesn't stop (8 years of no contact, i would have been upset if they just wallowed in their misery) and Lina! Omg she had the best transformation.. she is no longer a hurt girl but a woman doing what she needs to survive. with gorgeous men at every turn.

The multiple POVs with the flashbacks.. it added so much to the story. We get easter eggs from each perspective, the emotions portrayed from these drastically different MMCs. Johnny was the biggest surprise! He's seriously the character I love to hate and hate to love.

The writing was amazing! We didn't lose the storyline through the romance. The scheming and revenge was *chefs kiss* I knew that the cliff hanger was coming but there are so many directions book 3 could go.. I can't freaking wait!

I'm in love with this series! The first book pulled me in, tossed me around, and spit me out into book two. Aro, what!? I didn't see this coming whatsoever! Talk about a twist. But I absolutely loved it! And the guys, omgosh, the guys. Heaven Sent that girl some beautiful bad boys

I think Nik and Axle are my fave though. They need her or they're just not complete. It tugged at my heart strings.

This book was twists and chaos and OMG moments all over the place. It was a little emotional too. Aro is such a strong woman going through so much s**t but she keeps going.

I seriously cannot wait to read books 3!!

Lina's story continues...

You asked for spicy chaos, and I delivered: stepbrothers, mafia heirs, mercenaries, and more trauma. Congratulations, you’re now complicit. You can't quit. You're in too deep now.

Thank you for every minute you’ve spent reading, reviewing, screaming into the void, and making feral posts about these characters. I see you, I love you, and I appreciate every single one of you!

Book 3, DAMNED, is coming right behind to Amazon and KU on Oct 1! (Don't hate me for the cliffhanger... Lina will get her HEA. She'll just have to fight for it first.)

Well, I read it. I kind of hated where the FMC ended up. We start the book, and it's an immediate time jump. She has not seen or talked to the guys from the previous books since she moved, and she's still kind of on the run and dealing with everything her stepdad started. I just think the beginning of this one is pretty rough, but once you get into the book, things start picking back up. But we are dealing with some really heavy topics again, and we end on some huge cliffhangers. It's also crazy how connected everything is getting.

So much angst in this the second book in the trilogy. Also intrigue and a lot of suspense and surprises in this one. The ending took me totally by surprise. A little spice, but not much. Good banter. Well written. It reads quick. I loved all of the main characters and I hoped they would all survive and reunite. I really enjoyed this book. Can’t wait to dive into the third one. I definitely recommend this book.

Another wild ride with Lina/Aro both between the past 8 years in flashbacks and the present with her crazy life amongst drug dealers, body guards, and her boys.

Oh man, what an ending (even if it's a cliffhanger 😋) I can’t wait for the next one! Hope our girl Lina finally catches a break. 💔❤️❤️

DNF 37%. Like the characters much more than in book 1 but not in the mood for a mafia/secret society book. Kept getting distracted but would try again later.

Well, this didn't go anywhere I expected it to, and I am glad. After reading the eplogue in book one, I was hesitant to start book 2 because it seemed like it had jumped the shark. Well, there were enough flashbacks to tie it all in, and make it make sense. The character development is unreal. They age and mature, and it pushes the story along. There are some surprises and some confirmations to what the reader had probably guessed. The ending was such a huge plot twist that I had no idea was coming, and it was fantastic.
