My last case almost killed me.I don’t know if I can do this job anymore—not when the nightmare of my last case still chases me. But when my boss insists I take on another case, I’m ready to walk away.

Until I hear her voice.

Tasha. The woman I never stopped loving. The one I lost because we couldn’t see eye-to-eye. Now she’s in danger, and no matter how much I want to run from the past, I can’t let anyone else protect her.

Tasha’s running from a man who won’t let her go, hiding in the frozen wilds of Duluth. When I show up at her door, I see it in her eyes—she hasn’t forgiven me. Maybe she never will.

But when her stalker closes in, we’re forced to trust each other again. And somewhere between fear and faith, I have to decide if saving her means risking my heart one more time.

Because walking away once nearly destroyed me. Doing it again might finish the job.

Artemis was a fast-paced read with nonstop action, a stalker, and second chances. Artemis and Tasha have a shared history but ended things ten years ago because they didn't see eye-to-eye. Now they meet up again ten years later. Can they resolve their differences between them and can they forgive each other while Artemis protects her from a stalker? Such a great plot with great characters and faith elements woven into the story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Artemis Timmons was stopped cold by a voice he had known better than anything. Something was dumping his past, right into his present life, after ten years. Tasha Mason was a complicated piece of his past, yet Artemis felt the same surprising pull of protection towards her. Throughout this book, it was evident that the past needed to be laid to rest, but first and foremost was her security from a controlling force of her present. As they stifled their emotions, they had the opportunity to learn about one another again. With every incident leading towards the end, the mixture of suspense and emotion was mind boggling. I really enjoyed this book, almost feeling each emotion as it played out on each page. I was given this ARC by Author Kari Trumbo, for a true evaluation of her work. I give this book 5 stars out of 5 for a perfectly written story filled with danger, street smarts, skill, and protection. I especially loved the team atmosphere and the faith in God that was evident from the very first page!!

Artemis by Kari Trumbo is another action-packed faith-based story in the Northern Guardians Series. Artemis had a big supporting role in Scarlett’s story, so I was thrilled he received his own. However, after the last case with Scarlett I can understand his doubts about his career. His second chance story is not only about someone he loved in the past but also a second chance in his life and career. This faith-based story has Artemis looking to the Lord from beginning to end. He helps Tasha not only stay safe but reconnect with God. Whether it is everyday life or a dire situation God will help as this story clearly shows. Be sure to read Artemis. 4.5 Stars

I love how gripping this story is. Once I began, I did not want to put it down. Artemis and Tasha had a relationship 10 years prior. They were young and wanted different things, so they went their separate ways. Present day, Artemis is a member of the Northern Guardians security service. They are hired to protect people in danger. Artemis is called in for a job, his first job after being shot. He has for the most part healed physically. When he overhears his director, speaking to his new client, he recognizes the voice. It was none other than Tasha Mason.
The tension between these two is already high, but with somebody stalking her, they need to focus on solving this problem. The story intensifies very quickly and keeps you rooted to your seat. It is well written with a happily ever after conclusion. This is book 4 of the series, and although there are characters that overlap, it can be read as a standalone.

Tasha and Artemis loved each other as youngsters, but lacked the maturity to make it work. Ten years later Tasha having tried other relationships but never finding what she had with Artemis settles for a man she thinks loves her but instead want to own her being narcissistic eventually trying to kill her. Tasha then reaches out for protection at Northern Guardians and ends up with Atremis as her protector. Neither want to deal with the past but having to trust and spend time with each other, the truth and real feelings come out. Both needed time, and maturity to truly fall for each other. Kari Trumbo does a masterful job of bringing all this together into an un put downable story.

Really Great Series

I'm so enjoying this series and was happy to see Artemis get his story. I do enjoyed his and Tasha's story. Theirs is a great second chance story filled with danger and faith as well as love. These two had to grow up and mature to get their HEA. A captivating read.

This story had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It’s everything I love in a Christian romantic suspense: intense danger, emotional tension, and a powerful reminder of faith in the middle of chaos.

The hero is still haunted by the case that nearly destroyed him, ready to walk away from the job for good until he hears her voice. Tasha, the one that got away, is in danger, hiding in the frozen wilds of Duluth. Their reunion is filled with hurt, history, and unfinished love, but when her stalker closes in, they’re forced to rely on each other again.

The mix of action, emotion, and redemption is perfectly balanced. The author does an incredible job showing how faith can anchor us when fear feels overwhelming. Watching these two characters find courage and each other again made for a heart-pounding yet deeply meaningful read.

If you’ve been following the Northern Guardians series, this one absolutely delivers. And if you’re new to it, get ready for a thrilling, faith-filled ride.

This next book in the Northern Guardians series was everything I expected and more. Artemis was an intriguing character in the previous books, and I was happy to learn more about him and Tasha. Their backstory, though sad, continued in a shocking series of events that left me wanting to reach through the screen and throttle the foul villain. I thought the author treated the subject material tactfully, in spite of the disgust I felt towards the perpetrator. I am eager to read the next book about Maximus because he seemed so mysterious and showed his capability and wisdom in helping Artemis. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book for the author. A positive review was not required, and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

This is a good story though it's terrifying and maddening. Tasha is running from a man controlling, abusing, obnoxious, and down right horrible man. I couldn't wait to learn how he got what was coming to him - life in jail or death. Artemis didn't want to protect her because of their history. The more he learns what this man has done to her he is certain he is doing the right thing. The ending is satisfying for me. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary opinion.

Once I started reading this book, everything else took a back seat. I was so caught up in the story, I literally couldn't get up out of my chair to do chores until I finished it. The action and suspense was non-stop. The emotional turmoil and pain that Tasha was enduring pulled at the heartstrings. All the books in this series have been awesome but I think this one is the best one yet.
