About the author

Lauren’s stories are often emotionally raw, with lots of twists and turns. She describes her writing as “where light meets dark”, which represents how her witty humor compliments the darkness in every story. Lauren Biel is an auto-read author for me. This series is one of my favorites.
A theme park, serial killers, chaos, and "special" food all make for a great fourth book. Aven and Quinn were adorable together. You can never go wrong with a broody Scottish man, yummy.

I love this series, this one had a few twists I didn’t see coming as Lauren leads you one way then jolts you the other a bit like a roller coaster 🤣 I totally admit I scoffed and laughed out loud so many times, I kept earning funny looks 🫣 Her writing and imagination is just amazing and it comes across so well in her stories, honestly, I’ve no idea how she comes up with them but bravo lady 👏

It’s one of those books that’s so ridiculous and out there, that it makes it so funny and enjoyable. I will read anything dark rom com that Lauren Biel writes from here on out! Now I just have to wait for the pretty sprayed edges to come out to add to my collection!

This is, by far, the best of the series and possibly Lauren's best book (and I've read them all!). Seeing her grow as an author and watching her put all her nutty, gory, romantic-in-the-freakiest-of-ways ideas into a genuinely awesome story has been SO much fun. The setting here is EXCELLENT, and so well fleshed out that I can really see the book getting optioned for a movie. If you like spooky amusement parks, a little gore, kissing at very inopportune moments, and a mystery that you'll be wracking your brain trying to solve, you will adore Slaughter Park. The FMC is sweet and sassy without being frustrating, and the MMC is broody and grumpy without being a complete jerk. Spice level is medium-high, and feels like it fits the characters without being shoved in just to have a spicy scene.

You could ~technically~ read this as a standalone, but you'll enjoy it a lot more if you read the previous Slaycation books first! There are some fun cameos and a bit of backstory that may be confusing if you start with this one.

I literally set alarms to get an advance copy of this book and am SO happy I got one. I'll be buying a paperback as soon as it comes out to add to my shelf!

The way Slaughter Park had me in a chokehold!! I beg for no one to make me choose my favorite in this series because if I have to; I'm ended. 🤣🤣

So there's a stalker lurking, killer rides, and just good ol' fun for... not a family, but for this found family; it’s perfect. 🫠🫠
Quinn is a cam girl who owns every part of herself and refuses to hide. (Yes, girllll!!) She’s mouthy, fearless, and doesn’t care who knows it.
Then there’s Aven, the Scottish bodyguard that's all rough around the edges, trying to keep everything under control.
Sparks?? More like fireworks. 🥵🥵 Just delicious heat like a fresh-from-the-fryer funnel-cake. 🙃🙃

The tension never lets up. The mystery of Quinn's mom cuts deeper than you’d think, adding real punch to the story. You're left constantly turning the pages trying to figure everything out. And the twists leave you wondering, "OMG, what the f—??" BUT in the best way.

I can hardly wait for what's next from Lauren!!

Slaughter Park by Lauren Biel was an instant 5-star read for me. This dark romantic comedy follows Aven (from the previous book) and Quinn, a cam girl with Aven as her bodyguard. I loved getting to know both of them. Watching Aven come out of his shell was everything and Quinn was such a fun and loveable character.

The banter was so good I was laughing out loud, but the story also had genuinely heartwarming moments and handled heavier topics really well. Even with a big cast it never felt confusing or convoluted.

Also this is a DARK romcom, so expect lots of killing, gore, and chaos and I loved every second of it. I’m a slow reader and still finished it in two days. I don’t want this series to end!

Lauren Biel is magic with the dark rom-coms. I love a DARK romance but sometimes you need something that gives you the dark but makes you laugh too and Lauren nails it every time. Her entire Slaycation series is outstanding. It’s funny, witty, full of twists and also dark because of the um… hobbies of her main characters.

Aven and Quinn have my heart. Aven is a closed off Scottish man who keeps his secrets close but Quinn is a bubbly, sunshine woman who says absolutely not and worms her way right into the middle of his heart. The spice is *chef’s kiss* the plot is dark, twisty and oh so funny. You will not regret reading this book!!

I love this series so much! I was lucky to get an ARC copy of this one.

I don't want to say too much due to spoilers.
The story follows Quinn and Aven and I really enjoyed them as characters. As expected this story includes a lot of chaos, spice, murder, lots of laughs, food and of course some surprising twists and turns.
Overall this book is a great addition to the series and I look forward to more.
My only nitpick is that I would have liked a bit more of the rest of the gang but that is just because I want all of them all the time 🤣

Lauren knocked it out of the park with this one! I couldn't put it down! The spice was spicing, there were quotes and phrases that literally made me laugh out loud, the twists and turns at the end make me speed read just to know what was going to happen. The set up for the next book was delivered so well. I am beyond excited to see what happens when the final book is ready!

I received this book as an ARC and WOW is all that I can say. I didn't think the Slaycation series could get any better, but Lauren did it again and kept me turning the pages. The character development, the banter, the spice .. it was all top tier. I could not put the book down and was so sad when it was over. Aven and Quinn had my giggling and kicking my feet and brought on the heat too. If you don't read anything else read the Slaycation Series!!!

I thought I couldn’t love this series any more than I already did!! Lauren Biel knocked it out the park 😉 yet again!

x bodyguard is one of my top tropes and this one is 💯 the funniest I’ve read! Ice Pack.. Ice man? no definitely Ice Pick .. had me in tears!

The banter between Quinn and Aven was hot and chaotic! I loved it so much!

The Slaycation series is gross in the best way! It’s dark humour and hilarious chaos. I cannot recommend it enough to lovers of a crazy, spicy good time that might have you questioning yourself 😄😄💯

I am soooo happy I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader!
Slaycation is my #1 favorite series! Slaughter Park was another hit! LB did it again! I don't want to give anything away but I will say my favorite scenes are always with the cattle and absolutely LOVE how the rides in S/Laughter Park was used! 😂 The characters from the slaycation series will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart! NOW, to wait for the summer for "Sinners Reunion" I don't want this series to end!! 😭

I found this series in March of last year, and Sinners Retreat absolutely wrecked me—in the best way possible. It was the book that really opened the door for me to this genre, and from that moment on I was hooked. I quickly devoured every release in this series, and Slaughter Park just reaffirmed why Lauren Biehl has become an auto-read author for me.

Lauren has a rare talent for blending genuinely dark, brutal themes with sharp humor that never feels out of place. Somehow, she makes you laugh in moments where you shouldn’t be laughing—and it works perfectly. The tone is twisted, intense, and unapologetic, yet still wildly entertaining.

Quinn is hands down one of my favorite FMCs in the series. She’s strong, layered, and completely unapologetic about who she is. I loved everything about her—from her mindset to the way she navigates the chaos around her. She felt real, not just a character reacting to the darkness, but someone who belongs in it.

And Aven… I already liked him in Ship Happens, but getting more of his story here was such a treat. Seeing additional layers to his character only made him more compelling, and his dynamic with Quinn added so much depth and tension to the story.

Slaughter Park delivers exactly what fans of the series want: dark romance, twisted humor, strong characters, and that addictive “just one more chapter” feeling. If you’ve been following this series, this book will not disappoint! I am so ridiculously excited that there will be one more book in this series and already counting down the days to return to this dark, chaotic world 🖤

If you’ve been following the Slaycation series, you know Lauren Biel has a singular talent for making the absolutely unhinged feel like a rom-com. Slaughter Park is arguably the most immersive installment yet, taking the "sinner’s retreat" concept to a brilliantly twisted new level.

What makes this a five-star read is the perfect calibration of tonal whiplash. One moment you are laughing at Biel’s signature witty, irreverent banter, and the next, you are gripped by a visceral, high-stakes tension that pushes the boundaries of the dark romance genre. The setting—a redesigned, deadly amusement park—isn't just a backdrop; it’s a playground for the characters’ darkest impulses and deepest vulnerabilities.

The chemistry between the leads is electric and "off the charts" steamy, but it’s anchored by genuine emotional growth. Biel excels at writing characters who are jagged and "broken" but find a bizarre, beautiful harmony in each other. Lauren biel never fails, especially with this series, I adore the Slaycation series without a doubt! the fun banter and quirky characters make the whole story without even adding the story line. the ending to this I honestly didn't see part of it coming either so I do love that. She pulled the Ole switcheroo, lol. in this one you have a bird, a Jolly green giant, some primal chase, a terribly timed bodily reaction, and some... curry. 😆 And if you've read any of the series before this book youll understand why curry is terribly funny and interesting, if you havnt go read the others! You wont be disappointed in this series thats for sure! Always a fun little ride! I keep wondering now what the last installment will entail, cannot wait to find out eventually, until then im happy enough with the rest of this series as a reread lol. fun twisted version of a romantic comedy!

Oh My LANTA, I was soooooo worried it would have clowns in it lol safe to say Lauren didn't completely traumatize us lol NO CLOWNS!

The spice, the banter, and the plot was all there and PERFECT!

I've been obsessed with series since I ARC read Sinners Retreat and I know I said Ship Happens was my favorite because i just love Maverick, buuuutt........This one takes the cake! Aven and Quin are just I have no words lol.

Trying to give this review without spoilers is sooo hard. This is the BEST one yet! Unfortunately due to my 2 feral raccoons of toddlers lol it took me WAY longer to finish!

Lauren Biel is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I will read every single thing she ever writes!

Lauren Biel has an unfair talent for taking gruesome, bloody murder and somehow making you laugh out loud while you’re reading it—and Aven & Quinn’s story is proof.

What starts as a simple “get in, get paid, get out” bodyguard job spirals beautifully into obsession, danger, and a romance that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. The murders are brutal, the danger is real, yet the humor is sharp, absurd, and perfectly timed. Somehow, she makes carnage entertaining without undercutting the stakes. You’ll be cringing, laughing, and turning pages way past bedtime.

I don’t even know where to start. Every book in the series, I have absolutely loved. 📚❤️ What I can say is right from the beginning Quinn had a hold on me. I absolutely love her. She gave me so many giggling moments in this book. 😂 Quinn is amazing! Avan was great—I loved their banter, and I loved that it was a slow burn, but not so slow. It made it boring to read. 🔥 The stuff that happens in the amusement park with the cattle had me giggling and kicking my feet. 🎢🐄 The food scenes had me gasping and covering my mouth. 🍽️😮 Let’s just say I’m very sad at the end to see that there will be only one more book in the series! 😢 There’s way too many people in the series to leave hanging.

10/10 absolutely NO notes for queen Lauren. This series is my guilty pleasure and I have read the books multiple times. This book? Perfection! Aven is my new book boyfriend (I can’t wait to listen to this on audio- I need the accent more than air) and I loved Quinn so much! The setting was so fun and easily pictured in my head with all the details Lauren puts in her writing. I am so excited for the next installment and and crossing all my fingers and toes that we may get a second gen??? Please?!

Lauren does it again! The Slaycation series somehow keeps getting better with every book. I laughed out loud, devoured the banter between Quinn and Aven, and thoroughly enjoyed the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️—perfectly balanced with just the right amount of necessary slaughter. Fair warning: this book may permanently change how you feel about funnel cakes or curry chicken 😉 I cannot wait for the final installment this summer, though I already know I’ll be sad to see this series come to an end.

I continue to be an absolute fan of The Stacation Series. Every single story has a way of keeping our newest sinners so close to my heart. This story we meet Quinn and see another side to our Scottish sinner Aven. I cannot wait for the next installment and where the epilogue lead us! Yay! I will continue to read EVERYTHING Lauren Biel writes because she has a way making me fall for these characters, every single time.
