Maya's life is safe, predictable—maybe even a little dull. Working long shifts as a nurse and living quietly with her aunt and uncle, her only spark of joy is her best friend, Gabriel. But everything changes the night she's kidnapped and thrust into the dangerous world of Zander, the ruthless mafia king.
Zander offers her a shocking three years as his exclusive companion—his "sex pet"—in exchange for solving all her problems. No love. No emotions. Just pleasure, protected by a contract and sealed with temptation.
Maya must decide if surrendering her body is worth risking her heart. Because Zander is everything she should run from—deadly, dominant, and devastatingly attractive. And while he never mixes feelings with pleasure, something about Maya begins to unravel his carefully guarded world.
In a game of power, passion, and control, one question can you survive falling for a man who was never meant to be yours?
Dark, seductive, and emotionally charged—perfect for fans of mafia romance with a twist of danger.

An Angel in Need was a catchy and engaging read. One of the things I appreciated most was that Maya’s character never completely swayed from who she was at the beginning of the story. Even though she started off shy and somewhat of a people pleaser, her core personality stayed intact throughout.
What felt a little odd—but also interesting—was how Maya became the stronger one after meeting Zander. Being forced into his world to pay off her uncle’s debt, she somehow wasn’t scared of him at all. Instead, she came across as strangely attached to him, which gave her a quiet kind of strength. That dynamic made the story feel different from similar mob romances.
I find books like this fascinating because they touch on that complex idea of a victim developing feelings for their captor. Even knowing the person isn’t a good person, the character still manages to see the good in them, which adds layers to the relationship and makes it emotionally complicated.
Overall, I did enjoy this book, and it kept my interest enough that I plan to continue reading the next one.
Can believed there is another book to read. The entire book was already a slow read with the ending of how it started. This book could have been done as one. Good spice but weak and clueless heroine. The h was sweet to the heroine until he decided to cut the heroine loose in the end. There was m/m as side plot telling that wasn't for me. The entire book was boring and drags on with daily routine and a weak heroine that needs protecting constantly. Don't care for weak and helpless FMC. Won't be reading book two.
Ok so this book is more than chefs 😘 kiss 💋 but I will say the editing needs to be redone. There are a lot of oopsies and minor mistakes. The story though!!! And Zander ... Oh my I need my man to turn into a Zander Velky because holy sh🧡t is that man amazing. Maya couldn't be more perfect either. I cannot wait to read the next book!
