Unbreakable(ish) by Ali Ingersoll is one of those rare books that grabs your attention from the very first page and never lets go. It's fun, intriguing, and full of surprises—but what truly sets it apart is how raw and real it is. Ali writes with a voice that's both bold and unapologetic, making her story not only relatable but incredibly inspiring in a totally non-inspiration porn way.

The book is also refreshingly easy to read. Despite the emotional depth and complexity of the experiences she shares, Ali's storytelling style is accessible and even humorous at times. It made me laugh, reflect, and—more than once—say, "Wow, she really went there." And I loved that she did.

By the time I reached the last page, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. Unbreakable(ish) leaves you wanting more—not just more of Ali’s story, but more of her unfiltered, fearless perspective on life.

Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates memoirs that are honest, engaging, and anything but ordinary.

I rarely rate memoirs—and almost never write reviews—but Unbreakable(ish) deserves both. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I stumbled upon Ali’s blog years ago, and something about her honesty, humor, and resilience kept me coming back. I’ve been a follower ever since, and this memoir was one of my most anticipated reads—it exceeded every expectation. It’s a beautifully told story of what happens when life throws you curveball after curveball, written with warmth, wit, and wisdom.

Ali has a rare gift for finding laughter in the hardest moments and inspires you to meet life’s challenges with strength and grace.

Thank you, Ali, for sharing your life so openly and for the incredible work you do for the disability community. You are a warrior, an advocate, and a true inspiration.

A must read!

This book is an authentic masterpiece. As a fellow quadriplegic, I read with interest and while there was much I could relate to and resonated with me, the story really hit me. Ali lived quite the life. So interesting to learn about life " before the fall" so to speak. I swear it could be a movie. But it did create a training ground and then OMG, the tenacity and what she went through after her injury. We all go through a long list of twists and turns, but hers were truly life-changing and life-threatening. Nothing in this book is sugar coated and that's what I love about it. It's not often that you read the truth. The unvarnished life lessons and honesty to reflect on where they might have gone awry, where they were helpful, and how they pushed you forward. And the focus on family. Family. That truly resonated with me as I never would have made it through my accident without my family. But what an interesting family and interesting life. I loved this book and I will be recommending it to everyone. I know. It is not just about disability. It is about life, it's twists and turns, it's unexpected directions, and where It ultimately leads you, knowing that it's not going to stop there stop there. Thank you Ali for writing this.
