A broken omega who wants to kill, and the kingpin who will do anything to protect him.
Malori Cann has nothing to live for except vengeance. He lost his family, his freedom, his children, and barely survived three years of unspeakable abuse, before his rescue by King’s organization. Now a guest in King’s fortified home, Malori’s sole goal is finding his stolen children and punishing the man who shattered the last of his fragile trust.
Alexander “King” Kingston has a reputation for being stone-cold and wholly focused on business. So why is he willing to risk everything just to make Malori smile? King knows better than to mix business with pleasure, but the two become entwined when he and Malori give in to their mutual attraction.
King’s main focus is on leaving his life of crime behind and keeping his family safe, Malori included. But doing so comes with intense risks, and King may have to choose between the promises he made to his brother and best friend—and the promises he made to the man he’s falling in love with.
Welcome to a brand-new Omegaverse world, from the author of the Breaking Free/Finding Free series. This series includes omega male and alpha female tropes, mpreg, fated mates, lots of angst, and dark themes. For more explicit warnings, please check the Copyright Page at the beginning of the book.
No stranger to the writing world, A.M. Arthur has been creating stories in her head since she was a child and scribbling them down nearly as long. She credits an early fascination with male friendships (bromance wasn't a thing yet) with her later discovery of and subsequent affair with m/m romance stories. When not writing, she can be found in her kitchen, pretending she's an amateur chef and trying to not poison herself or others with her cuisine experiments. I loved it. While I feel like the first book may have been more action packed, there is something very deep between the relationship between Malachi and King. I loved their dynamic, it reminds me in a way of several breaking free/finding free couples that need to heal together
I've been really enjoying this series. It has just the right blend of grit, friendship, passion, and love. In this book, Malori is an omega who was recently rescued out of three years of trafficking and abuse. Now, living with his rescuer, King, and his family, Malori is just trying to heal and figure out what's next. He is drawn to King, but too hurt by memories of two forced births and the stealing of the babies after birth.
King, an alpha, is very protective of Malori and the rest of his family. He's drawn to Malori and has more in common with him than Malori realizes, but he also wants to be respectful of Malori's recovery. He is committed to taking down some of the trafficker and in locating Malori's babies, but he also wants out of the crime business and has been making plans for pulling away.
When Malori heals enough to realize his attraction to King is more than just gratitude, he makes the first move. It's a slow road with a few curves, but they eventually have a beautiful HEA. I look forward to more from the world of River City Omegas!
A.M. Arthur has taken the omegavers trope and set it in a mob family and having the omegas rescued. King found Malori when he was looking for his brother in book one of this series and this book carries on from there, but with King’s and Malori’s relationship and trying to find Malori’s children. The combination works well in Arthur’s writing hands and makes for a very exciting story with a lot of touching moments.
I understand that Malori had been through repetitive shits in his life and became traumatized and won't be penetrated again, and knowing until the end that Malori will never be it disappoints me since I think the only way to know that is if King was Malori's charus and vice versa was for Malori to be the bottom and Malori was pregnant with King's child with a turkey baster. What a total letdown!

Omg! I loved this story. My heart just broke for Malori. King was so supportive and kind and so respected Malori’s boundaries. Such a punch to the heart.
4.5 stars for this two book series. I loved the world building that Arthur made for this world. So many layers to peel off with omega men and alpha females.
