Nonstop action! kept me on the edge throughout the whole story, since you can not predict outcomes, the fighting, the steamy and I mean steamy parts not the battle these two will face rather from same blood to friends to rivals.
There will be timelines changing since the prologue was 3 years in the past, I'm not sure is I didn't read Nikolai's story if it happened than, Nadia kidnapped Sho for finding her father, then the time frame when to 'present' that later on we went forward in time 2 years when Sho learns what Nadia's deal was with his father and disappears into the shadows during that time and to the present. Be warned there will be some mentions of children cruelty in different forms.
Together they will have one foot in the Yakuza and a foot in the Bratva!
These two lovebirds love their fighting blades...
Next is Nadia's full brother Alekdandr and their childhood (both Nadia and Alek's, since Lily's father worked with their father)
Sho Matsumoto, son and heir of the Yakuza before what his father did to him to stray from his father sickness to be a strong warrior his mother could have been proud of. What and who Sho is, is due to his father and all this story, he wants to cut down the sickness and clean up the Yakuza to what it was originally was, not the tormented training, child auctions, perverted old men who stand beside his father and left all that sickness turn their group into what it is now. But along the way he met an enemy, and fell for her, Nadia, his Hime, his future Queen.
Vor v Zakone Nadia Petrov 'Hime', Queen of Bratva, father is Boris, Demon of New York, who's on the run. Nadia is the only sister to Nickolai (older half brother same mother, from Bratva King's Secret Twins) and her full brother Aleksandr (soon to have his own story with Nadia's bff Lily). All three siblings were tortured by their father so they all have scares and trauma by who they called father, their mother was sent to them in pieces by said man. Nadia is on a mission to take him out to show the old men of the Bratva who she is, what she can do to prove that she is their Queen.

The book was okay, although it needs editing. Some sentences/grammar don't make sense. I would've like it more if we got to read how Sho became so possessive and in love with Nadia. We just flew right into the middle of the story.
Some things are exaggerated and there are plotholes.

Overall, Nadia was not a leader, just a little brat acting up. If she wasn't snarling, she was snapping. She ruined the whole book. 3 stars for Sho only.

What a change in pace. Usually we have Male Bratva leaders. The rules are reversed here. Enter Queen Nadia. Nadia is Regal, lethal, dangerous , amazing.
Twisted - real ownership of title of Bratva. Legally - Nadia’s is the eldest, but a female! A psychotic father not wanting a female to rule.
A cat and mouse game with Sho (Shadow) Heir of the Yakuza. Target - find the answer of her sire (Boris Petrov) who decapitated her mother and sent body pieces to her and her siblings ( Aleksandr & Nikolai) as tokens. Nadia is a lot of things but humiliation she is not.

Let’s not dilly dally here. This was exceptional. Rarely do we come across a modern read where the female is the head of a Bratva. What Vivy has presented here is more than women’s rights. It’s Nadia’s Petrov stating to the Bratva she is the right person for the position.
Nadia’s most definitely wasn’t the meek princess other rivals named her. Sho was the exception in seeing who she is beyond the layers - HIS, his bloodthirsty assassin, lethal, sex on a stick, I can go on.
Be prepared for a gruesome read. Not for the faint hearted. Vivy expresses her views in her note from author.
For readers of Vivy skys, this will be up your alley. New readers be prepared for the ride.

Vivy Skys blended together Yakuza and Bratva traditions, a codes of honor and loyalty, but with a few added twists, that made the story a much more interesting read. The chemistry between Sho and Nadia was truly epic, but life kept throwing obstacles in their path and of took a fight to the death incident, for them to finally accept their love for each other. If you are looking for a book where the FMC is as much as an Alpha as the MMC then look no further!!! Nadia (Bratva) is almost more brutal & blood thirsty than any of the men in this book. Sho (Yakuza) is Nadia's main rival & is also brutal in his tactics. The chemistry between these two was so hot my kindle almost started on fire 🔥. They both know how to play into each other's weaknesses like it's nobody's business!! I couldn't put this book down! It literally grabs you by the seat of your pants from the first chapter & doesn't let go until it's over (even then you're left questioning wtf did I just read & damn that just happened)!
Highly recommend to anyone who loves mafia books, unhinged characters with pitch black morals, nail biting suspense & hotter than hell spice!!!

Brutal Union came in swinging with knives, blood, and way too much sexual tension for two people who allegedly hate each other. Sho vanishing for years then crashing back into Nadia’s world felt like the kind of drama that makes you mutter “oh no” but keep reading anyway. Nadia as an actual Bratva queen was refreshing, since too often the women get sidelined, and here she’s lethal and commanding. The pacing jumped between past and present, which worked most of the time but occasionally left me pausing to figure out where we were. The writing is sharp, intense, and sometimes over the top, but honestly it fits the unhinged energy of a Yakuza heir obsessed with his Bratva queen. It’s brutal, messy, and kind of hot in spite of itself.

First I love anything Vivy writes so I dove into this book very excited. I was asked to review this book by the author and as this was my first time, I felt a lot of pressure to give you an honest review.. first let me say this is a totally different book. It’s too very strong Main characters who in the beginning it’s a struggle, but push through because it’s sensational.. the twist that turns the magnetic pole between them is crazy. Their sexual attraction is off the charts. I’ve always wanted a book to explain the Asian side of the mafia, and this is the encyclopedia for it.. I would give it more than five stars if I could !!!

Nadia and Sho's story is a dark enemies to lovers mafia romance and it did not disappoint right from the first page! I love Vivy Skys way of story telling and her unique and interesting characters! You are pulled right into their drama and angst and at times feel their heartbreak. I enjoyed Brutal Union and it's scorching, obsessive love! If you are a fan of Dark Mafia Romance, morally grey Anti-hero, strong heroines, touch her and die vibes, suspense, hot steamy spice, and possessive and obsessive heroes then this is the book for you!.

If you enjoy a dark and sinister story, this is a book to read. We follow Nadia and Sho. Both have been betrayed by their fathers. Sho has been betrayed by his father, and I thought it wasn't a smart move to have a son as an assassin. It was fun to read how the Yakuza and Bratva come together; they're supposed to be polar opposites, but their feelings can't be held back. I enjoyed their story and I definitely recommend it!

What a great story. This is a dark, steamy, sometimes funny, Bratva and Yakuza story. Sho is an assassin betrayed by his father and Nadia has been betrayed by her father. Both are totally ruthless but somehow they become obsessed with each other. This is a must-read page-turner.

What a story! Both were betrayed by their father's and the only mistake they made was not killing him. He has been in the shadows biding his time and now it is upon him and boy does Sho make an awesome comeback. He and Nadia are a force to be reckoned with.

I was occasionally lost in the storyline but overall it's a good read. It's very intense with violence and drama. There's a great connection between the main characters in spite of the obstacles they encounter.

SUSPENSEFUL, SPICY, STEAMY and PAGE TURNING MAGNIFICENT= is how I would describe this dark mafia romance book. Nadia and Sho are perfect characters and will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Loved the overall story. Only part bothered me is Nadia thinking her brother Nik would have her killed. He loves her and it’s sad she doesn’t know that.
