This is the first book and series this author wrote. Al, or Alexia, is having a really bad day. When things really turn abnormal, she is in for a huge surprise. Now she is in the world of gods, goddesses, powers and more. She cannot keep her thoughts private when everybody and their son reads them. She is a vassal for Inanna.
Mortals smell her and immediately want to possess her in every way. She has three female friends that are around her and have her back. Remi is her ride or die friend that has watched her perish every lifetime to a specific enemy. They are bound and determined it will not happen this lifetime.
She is a gift; her bloodline is precious. There is something that one god made that she needs to find and destroy. She is also an elemental that carries the ability to use two elements. It is a race to discover these hidden objects to ensure she will survive. She will face off with others to help her find what she needs. The journey is just beginning. On land, in temples, under the ocean and beyond.
I really enjoyed stepping back in time with this new/old storyline. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. Will our heroine and friends be able to survive the tests and others to ultimately save her life this time? Or will the ancient god who made these objects win again? What changes will she have to undergo? Will she ever recover enough of her memories so she does not repeat past mistakes? Great world building and a little high heat moments. I love the snark and thoughts Al has when she believes no one can hear her…it will make you LOL.
